b&b - exterior
Located next to Piazza S.Michele and Piazza Napoleone, it would be really hard to find a more central place to stay in Lucca!
Our accomodation is an ideal base for who wants to visit Lucca and the rest of the Tuscany; the railway station is also in easy walking distance, as all the others part of the city.
Casa dell'Angelo an apartment just renovated, has been decorated in a traditional tuscan style: the rich reds of terracotta floor tiles lending the rooms a warm welcoming atmosphere.
There are three double bedrooms and a large room suitable for 3 or 4 guests; two bedrooms have a private bathrooms, and the other two share a third bathroom.
The rooms are available also for a single use.

The accommodation was basic but clean, and the location was fantastic - great to be within the city walls. Lucca is lovely.

great location clean rooms relatively easy to find from station. Fabio came to let us in with in 10 mins of phonecall. Close to everything you need. A bit noisy outside room at night on street below but no problem.Fabio and his brother David generously drove us to the staion on departure. Would come back here.

For two girls in the mid 20's making a quick stop in Lucca, this place was perfect. Couldn't be more centrally located; the price was great; and the owners were extremely helpful with a map and info on the town!

Pieno centro storico, con i pro e i contro del caso! I gestori molto gentili e disponibili.

The apartment was basic but clean. The room was serviced 1 in the 5 days we were there but this is expected for a room rental. Arrival requires calling the owner to check in, again not unusual for a room rental. The owner showed up promptly and was extremely friendly and helpful. The shared bathroom was always clean. The rooms overlook one of the main pedestrian streets in Lucca so there can be a fair amount of street noise but we never felt we needed the ear plugs. The room we had was a bit dark even with all the shutters open. There are steep stairs to get to the apartment, travel light.

Very difficult to find. We took a taxi. Once we had found it - it was an excellent central location. Directions from the station would have been helpful. David very helpful pointing out places of interest etc. Note two flights of very steep stairs to reach the flat.

I totally agree with the description I saw for this hotel when booking: excellent correspondance between price and quality. The hotel is perfectly located in Lucca, and who I think was the owner is very kind really. I absolutely recommend it!

Very nice B&B. Might be hard to find, as the street is so small it doesn't appear on maps, so you should better ask the owners to meet you in Piazza S. Michelle or Piazza Napoleon. Our room was small, but comfortable. There even was a ventillator. The window was right over a small restaurant, so from time to time there was a bit of noise. Overall, it was a good stay.

It is very well located, you have to phone the owner as soon as you arrive and he takes 5 minutes to arrive. We spend 4 days, the room is very spacious and everything is clean. The main entrance is not the best but who cares? What i strongly recommend is to get some earplugs because it is noisely. About the towells if you need some you can ask for them.

Excellent central location. Nice spacious room tastefully decorated. Lots of stairs. No reception so it was necessary to phone the owner on arrival to let us in.

When we arrived there was a sign on the door asking us to call a phone number. We rang on our cell phone and the owner was there in 4 minutes, very fast! The room was very clean and the owner gave us a map and lots of information about what to see, what to do and where to eat based on how much we wanted to spend that weekend. Top marks!!!!

This is a lovely hotel right in the centre of Lucca. The owner came and collected my friend and I after we got lost and walked us to the hotel. He and his wife were very friendly and spoke good english too. The hotel was very clean and very nice and tastefully decorated. The bathroom wsa great too. We were upgraded to an ensuite room for no extra charge and didn't request this so that was a bonus too! Rate very highly, excellent value for money and would stay there again. Lucca is lovely!

A very centrally located apartment in Lucca, within walking distance from everything in the town - including only 15 minutes walk frm the railway station. The apartment was not very easy to find, so you are advised to use taxi to get there. The owner was very friendly. The room was clean, however we missed a sink inside the room. Beware that there are two flights of steep and narrow stairs, without elevator, leading to the rooms on the second floor. The room's windows opened to a somewhat busy street, but it quited down after 9pm. and we had a very good night sleep, disturbed only by an occasional moscito... All in all, we were satisfied with this accomodation.

Excellent accommodation for the price and dead in the centre of Lucca. Handy for bus and train, we went in April so the town was very quiet but pleasant. Plenty of restaurants and bars around (although be warned the bars close around 9.00 pm at this time of year). This accommodation might get very hot during the high season – I didn’t notice any air conditioning in our room. Towels and linen weren’t changed during our short stay (3 days)– didn’t bother us, but might offend the more fastidious. Highly recommended.

We had a very pleasant stay at Casa dell'Angelo. The service from the operators was excellent and extremely helpful, we exchanged mobile phone numbers in advance of our arrival by email and received a call from them while we on the train from Pisa to Lucca to confirm that we would be met at the apartment. When we left we were able to leave our luggage safely in the lobby until our departure time, enabling us to have a relaxing lunch and do our last minute shopping easily. The apartment was fairly quiet by Italian standards(it is very centrally located), especially with the shutters closed, everything worked and the bathroom was very good - the only problem for us was that there was only a wardrobe to hang clothes and no drawers, so we had to leave a lot of our clothes in our cases on the floor, which is not convenient if you are staying for a week, as we were. We had no problems finding breakfast, there are at least 4 good caffés within 5 minutes walk. We can recommend the Casa dell'Angelo for anybody loking for a central appartment in this most charming city, as long as you are able to climb the quite steep two flight of stairs to the apartment.

There are three streets with very similar names in Lucca, so it was quite difficult to find this place. When we did find it, we were delighted to see that it was in a quiet courtyard - or so we thought! It is in fact very close to Piazza di Napolean which is where all the young people hang out at night and where pounding dance music goes on to 2am! My partner is pregnant and couldn't get any sleep. We ended up finding somewhere outside the city walls, which was fantastic - 'Lucca In Centro 2'. A quiet suburban house with large back garden where we drank wine and ate lunch. You have free run of the kitchen (although breakfast is laid on), and it takes only 4 minutes to walk to the city gates. There is also the new town outside the gates where the locals live and work. Everything is much cheaper here, and less touristy. We would never have known it existed if we hadn't moved!

The hosts were very nice and made our short stay a welcome one. You can't get much more central and it was very quiet and clean.

A really nice place. Very central-situated and spacious. Although the staff doesn't stay in the hotel(It's a floor in an apartment, though), she was welcoming and warm when we arrived late. In our 14 days in Italy, this is a good deal.

Casa Dell Angelo is well situated in a very nice city. When you step out the door you are in the middle of the shopping centre and many piazzas with good restaurants and fantastic places to visit.

We enjoyed the stay and were happy with the room. I rated the welcoming low because, even though I provided the time of arrival per their request, I had to go to a phone booth to call them to check us in. They came promptly.

Tried to enter Lucca from gate not mentioned in instructions and got lost. Left city to try instructions srnt and found place sraight away. Would recommend parking and walking to Casa dell'Angelo. No where is far to walk and you get into the feel of the place. The rooms are on the second floor entered into by a courtyard. The rooms all look out on the streets. We arrived at 18.00 and phoned the number on the door to be met very quickly and shown our room. Very clean, wonderful bathroom and perfect for stay in walled city. Nothing better than waking up in a popular place and having brekfast in ther square before the tourists arrive. We would use this again and are telling our friends.

This hotel is superb value for money. When we got to Lucca we rang the hotel for directions and they actually came immediately to get us to show us how to find the hotel. Very hospitable. The owners are charming and speak English, Spanish and Italian and they were both delightful. Located in a great spot within the old walls of Lucca, this hotel could not have been in a better location. The rooms were charmingly decorated and extremely clean. Fantastic value for money, and we would definitely stay there again.

Accommodation is in the centre of the old city of Lucca. Rather noisy early in the morning when streets are cleaned and goods are delivered to nearby shops. Room is pleasant and shower available, though.
