The staff was really nice, the room was very clean and breakfast was good. The location was very nice, in the "main street" of Lucca, from there you could easily rent a bike or walk everywhere inside the walls.

Very friendly staff. He recommended a couple of places to eat and they were great. The rooms are very simple and clean. The location is fantastic, very close to everything. Just make sure to arrange your arrival time ahead of time since there is only one person there in the morning.

Marta was very friendly, kind and helpful. This was the first time we had stayed at Casa Alba and we will certainly return, and will recommend Casa Alba to our friends

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Alba immensely. Marta went out of her way to welcome us- the room was excellent and met all of our needs. This was our first time at Casa Alba and we would heartily recommend it to other travellers. It is several flights of stairs up, so wouldn't suit travellers with limited mobility- for us though, it added to the charm!

Excellent location, all sights, great restaurant/cafés and shops in short walking distance, clean bathroom facilitites (we used the shared bathroom), nice and clean rooms with TV and AC (some with fridge), italian breakfast with croissant, coffee/tea and orange juice in your room. Sometimes a little bit noisy at night, but only by people chatting and laughing in front of the cafés - that's the real Italy! We will go there again. Attention: No elevator - might be difficult for old or disabled people.

We moved out after three nights. The room & bathroom were tiny. The soap container was broken, all the drawers were broken & the place was not heated so it was unpleasantly cold. Casa means house. In this case, it is a converted apartment into rooms for rent. There is no-one on site if you have a problem. For an extra ten euros, we found something that was so much better. The breakfast at Casa Alba consisted of one coffee, one croissant, one piece of old, well past its use by date apple & a glass of "juice" out of a carton. This place is not good value for money. the location is good but apart from that it has little to reccommend it.

I don't recommend the senior person. Because must climb up narrow & steep stairs with trunk to 2nd floor. But will help the person who want to become thin with needy breakfast and climb up and down the stairs. The landlady accepted only cash payment without receipt.

Welcoming and helpful reception. Superb location at price. Seems higher than 2nd floor after a long day out! Breakfast service was erratic but overall we strongly recommend Casa Alba.

Casa Alba was lovely, very central and ideal as a Luccan base. There are no public areas, breakfast trays are delivered to the rooms. A problem we discovered [just before departure]was that the owner does not accept credit card payments.

Ideal location and very pleasant small B&B. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Only drawback was the "self-serve" breakfast -- a coffee machine and pre-packaged roll. The owner/manager was very pleasant and helpful. This was more like having our own apartment, as the place is only 5 rooms and there is not much common area. Would recommend it to others. We also spent one night in another hotel in Lucca -- a 3 star prperty -- but Casa Alba was more comfortable and by far a better value.
