Room space and cleanliness are my complains about this hotel. Location is good because you're 100m to paddington tube. Also the city bus is there so you will catch urban transport very easy. For people who likes McDonalds and Bigburger they are both there even including Subway :) But you have a lot of Pubs and Bars around this location.

I stayed 2 nights.Lighting in the room poor, only one of three wall lights worked. So the usual walk in the dark at bedtime.I asked for this to be rectified but it wasn't. only white bread at breakfast........

Avoid. I would not recommend staying in the hotel even if it is less expensive than the others. The room was small with no windows in the basement. It was extremely hot and the air conditioning did not work. I became trapped in the bathroom when the door handle fell off (clearly not fixed in years). The ground floor fire exit was locked shut. Despite the good location, i was reminded of this fact every 30 seconds when i could hear the tube train rumbling past and the TV lost its picture. In the morning the hotel is noisy with staff shouting in the corridors as they prepared breakfast.I could watch them from my bed through the cheap curtains by the door. The staff were not helpful and i witnessed the guy on reception, hanging out the window and laughing when one of the guests reversed their car into the post next to the tiny parking space. Avoid.

the room itself was small but clean. bathroom needs improvement: the shower head seemed to be mouldy, the tap of the washbasin was not installed correctly, the light was poor. but considering the top location and the low price one can live with the shortcomings. for my next travel to london i would try another hotel at sussex gardens.

Often the included breakfast wasn't ready at the given time, and often it was incomplete (some days it missed beans, cheese etc.). The surrondings didn't make much noise, but when other guests walked thru your room, and shutted doors, you will hear it very well.

I suppose that London hotels do not offer that high a standard for £65 which is why the lamps in my room (309) were broken, the drawers likewise ... the location was the only benefit in connection with this stay. On Venere's website it said that the hotel was recently refurbished - but this seemed to apply to the reception areas only.

Room was dirty, tiny and old - a cramped attic space which was entirely different from the pictures. Water marks on walls and ceilings, cobwebs, cracks in walls. Staff were glum and not happy to be around - particularly the breakfast staff. what was billed as a three star hotel was an absolute waste of money and a complete rip-off at 80 pounds per night. When we asked if there was another room spare that we could move to given the conditions staff refused. Don't waste your time or your money staying here.

Regarding that it was my second visit in London and my third hotel staying in the same area (Paddington), I knew from the beginning what to expect. So I wasn't surprised by the smalness of the room or the lack of cleanliness or the steps of my upstairs neighbour. But I enjoyed the staying thanks to the welcoming (a guy from Sri Lanka), and all the front-desk services (need of a cab at 4 a.m.), and thanks to the English breakfast... So taking into account the relation between price/quality in London, I reccomand this hotel.

The hotel is nice and clean, personnel frinedly and competent. However, the hotel does need some renovating. Your contract price was quite reasonble, but I never would pay the rack rates!
