I know it is just a bed and breakfast hotel, so you have what you have paid for but I think the breakfast must be a little bit better with more variety of food. The price is ok and the receptionist are good enought to do their work. Specially Sohel, he was always friendly and smiling, a credit for the hotel.

Nice clean room, nice bathroom, lot of hot water. Good location, bus nr 24 is just outside the hotel and takes you straight up to the city centre. Continental breakfast is always poor but to use cheap instant coffee was a disappointment. The instant coffee that you get in the room was much better. But if you walk towards Victoria and turn right into Denbigh Road you will reach Warwick Street in a minute and there a couple of places where you could get a nice english breakfast for 5.70 pounds (dec-13).

Hotel beds are awful! I think we were sleeping on just the box spring without the mattress. And the pillows were lumpy! The hotel is located in an area without very much of a selection for dining options. Fortunately, we just needed a place as a central location for our travels! And this fit that bill. It's a bit pricey for its services and rooms!

I was charged a day cost a week before my coming though in the list of registration it is written that any payment could be done just at the hotel itself. I do not think it's a good service.

Staff was very welcoming but we were desapointed by the hotel. We were able to understand each word of the couple in the others rooms, feeling not to have wall between us...and we were on the top floor ( 10 floors) but without lift (mentionned nowhere on the site) so very hard eah day to do that. Last point, the breakfast room is too small, you have just 1 hour to take it ( 8h-9h) and it is always full. You have to wait in the corridor 1 place. So when you are on the 10th floor you don't return in your rooms... Even if it is London , the hotel was too expensive for this kind of prestations. It's a pity....

This is a very basic hotel that does not deserve three stars. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny and equipped with only the necessary. There is not even a closet to hand your clothes, just a small rack. Storing two suitcases in the double room, already posed a problem. The bathroom does not have a separate shower cabin, so that when you take a shower the whole (minuscule) bathroom will be wet and you will have wet feet every time you use the toilet after. There is no lift and the stairs are quite steep and narrow, so beware, if you've got heavy luggage. So... if you travel with very light baggage and just need a place to sleep, it might still be ok, as the price is - for london standards low. The price is however very high compared to other european cities (even Venice) or if you consider what you get.

Excellent! This is a great value for money hotel/B&B..the room was clean all facilities were good,,tea making facilities great, we were more than satisfied after some negative reports we had read. I often wonder what some people expect for the money. The hotel is just 10mins walk from Victoria, no taxis to pay for! The reception staff were helpful with any queries we had & there was use of a free communal laptop for other info. There is no lift so there are a few stairs to climb but not a problem if you are half healthy. The surrounding area has a great choice of restaurants & pubs at sensible prices all within walking distance. "O Sole Mio" Italian restaurant just 100 meters away is good. We would definitely book again on a trip to London.

The internet connection was miserable, we had to access our mail from an internet cafe The space for breakfast was insufficient, we had to wait for a place at the table The room for 3 was a room for 2 with an extra-bed, so it was no space even for luggage. Not so much to be hilerious about, but also little reason for complaining - all in all a positive experience. Otherwise: It would have been little space for luggage if we had been more than the two of us in the four bed family room. The bathroom was clean and well functioning, however it was really tiny. The only thing that was a disappointment was the breakfast. It was described as "continental", but I am not sure which continent they refer to :)

This was our first stop of 5 Venere hotels throughout Europe. It was definitely a European hotel. Small narrow staircases, not recommended for those who have trouble climbing or have lots of luggage to carry upstairs. We brought only a carryon for our 2 week trip, and so had no problem. The room was very small, but did have a TV and small desk. The bathroom was more like a closet, stuck in the corner of the room in an enclosed capsule-like device. Toilet and shower were crammed together in the same space. But it did the trick and my expectations weren't high because I've had similar bathrooms to this in previous European travel. Breakfast didn't start till around 8-830, which sometimes we were ready for earlier. Ok breakfast--again very European, mostly carbs. The front desk staff was very nice, allowed us to pay by credit card. They helped us with routes through the city and were at the desk 24/7. Overall, not a bad experience. We enjoyed the smaller feel. Not our favorite of the 5, but London is a very big city and to get a nice hotel can be quite expensive. No real complaints, about what we expected

All that you need and nothing that you desire. No problems and no luxuries - Staff included. I would definitely stay there again. The area is a huge dormitory for tourists, with identical hotels in identical buildings all along the long, nice street. Thus many restaurants and kiosks open till very late at night (Warwick and Wilton streets). A couple minutes' walk from Pimlico tube station, and a pleasant walking distance from main (Victoria) station. Bus 24 runs 24/7 and takes you to many of the tourist sites, even lands you right in front of Westminster Abbey. I asked for a downstairs room because I can't carry my heavy suitcase up the stairs (no elevator) and they said they couldn't commit, but when I arrived they were waiting for me with their only ground floor room, even if they were almost fully booked. The room had a double bed and an additional single bed. In the lobby there's a tube and railway poster just like the ones at the tube stations on the wall. They have fliers of a shuttle company that picks you up and takes you to the airport, I used the service and it was absolutely great and inexpensive. I couldn't ask for more, really. Direct all special requests to the main clerk, Ms. Shaz. All the staff are Indian. They took great care with a parcel I had arriving before me to the hotel.

I was very difficult to find the number of the road. I asked the Best Western Corona from the other block, and nobody knew this hotel. They charged me more for the room, but as the owner told me the pesonnel needs more experience. He refunded me the money. I have to leave the hotel earlier, and he also offered me to refund me the day. The location is very convenience, it near the Victoria Station and Pilmico station where you can go everywhere from these two main points. I did not like the bathrooms they are too small. No stairs at the hotel, which it causes many problems with luggage.

GTP! If you want something cheap and you cannot find anything cheaper, go there. There was nothing for breakfast without sugar or carbohydrates. There was no cheese or sausages. It would be much better if they would give you the choice not to have breakfast at all and get a discount on the price. The room was decent enough. Stuff was very polite and helpful. Neighborhood was very good, quite, beautiful and in a very convenient location. There is NO ELEVATOR. Choose your room at a low floor.

I came to London with my 17year old daughter to get to know the city. For our kind of trip the hotel was perfect. Its perfectly located; just 20 minutes walk from the inner city (means big ben, westminster Abbey or the parliament) and the next bus station is just in front of the hotel. The rooms are indeed tiny and not the right thing to live in for longer than a week. We had a room with a tiny bathroom and for us it was more than enough. But Carlton isn't the right place to stay in with a family or little children eighter. All in all the only thing my daughter and I could complain about is the breakfast because it's everyday two pieces of toast with jam and a coffe or orange juice. But we would return to Carlton for sure.

The hotel is what you would expect in London for this price. The location is good. The Pimlico Underground station is 4-5 min. walk away. Our room was on the street side but we were not disturbed by any noises. The rooms are small and probably not the cleanest. Shower or house shoes are a must to avoid contact with the floor. Beds were okay. The bathrooms are not much bigger than those found on an airplane and they include a shower. As a result everything gets wet, so set the toilet paper outside of the bathroom when showering. Breakfast was very simple toast, instant coffee, milk, cereal and yogurt. The breakfast room is also very small and you will wait for a table if you come late. The personnel were very friendly and cooperative. They even kept our luggage locked up on our last day in London after we checked out.

The strongest point of this hotel is its location, near the subway station of Pimlico (it's only one station away from Victoria Station, where the coach from Ryanair arrives and also other trains that comunicate to the airports). It also allowed us to reach fast the centre of the city, where the main touristic points of interest are. The neighbourhood is also clean and quiet, so you can take a good rest after an exhausting day in the city of London. The weakest points are mostly the bathroom, made all in plastic and with not enough space (you have to put the feet into the shower plate to be sit down on the toilet), and the fact that the whole room needed to be renewed (the beds were too soft, the blankets and the sheets had also many years), until the point that we didn't use the shower when we saw its state of conservation. There is no elevator in the building, so i don't recommend it to the people with any mobility problem. The breakfast was poor, just included toasts, butter, fruit jam, corn flakes, orange juice, milk, tea and coffe (but we neither touch the coffee pot after seeing the package has been reused a lot of times). We personally recommend one of the hundreds of coffee shops to buy better and not expensive meals to take a good breakfast (Starbucks, Subway, etc.). We won't repeat the stay in this hotel, but we'll search another one into the same neighbourhood.

This was not our first family trip to London. We knew what we were doing. Carlton is a rather nice hotel. It is not too big (but as we only sleep there). It is rather cheap (for London). The rooms are not huge but OK. The staff was very nice. ONLY!!!! Breakfast hour (!) is between 8am and 9am. And as the breakfast room is not spacious... Apart from that, if you want to stay in a hotel not too far off... Carlton will be one of your best bets!

I've stayed in a lot of awful hotels, so it would be hard to say this was the worst. Location of this hotel is good, with many attactions in walking distance. Easy access to bus and subway. However, location is probably the only good thing of this hotel. Room is tiny (somewhat understandable in London) and DIRTY.

Ground floor single room had door lock held on with pieces of cardboard. Bedding had dirty blotches that hadn't washed out, though the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was served by miserable staff who handed toast from the toaster then went back to chatting to each other. Compared with other hotels at similar price this was definitely not one I'd recommend.

The hotel is walking distance to Victoria station and makes it easy access for the train to Gatwick Airport. The rooms are great for young single or couple travelers. The hotel does not have an elevator. The value for this hotel in London is the best you will find.

The Carlton is in a row of similar hotels. It is a pleasant walk down Belgrade from Victoria Station as said. We arrived from Gatwick. The staff were very friendly and helped set me up with a posh but reasonable (by London standards) ride to Heathrow as I did not want to do transfers on the way home. There are 2 theaters within walking distance and a number of excellant Pubs and Restaurants. Check out Balti House Spicy World and Cafe Nero. Bfst is routine. I had an inner courtyard room with views of the neighboring building and trees rustling, it is quite nice. Being at the further end of Belgrade it is quieter than being closer to the station. There was internet access right in the lobby so you could check out things as you left.

Hotel was fine for our needs. Close to Victoria Station. Upon arrival they had stuffed up our booking saying we had booked 3 beds rather than two, so lucky we had bought along a print out of our booking for only two which settled this. Breakfast was nice and free internet use was good. Hotel quite hard to find though, we got lost a few times. Would stay here again

l'hotel corrisponde a quanto indicato nel sito. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Posizione centralissima e zona molto tranquilla.

The Carlton is a modest hotel, but it is all the budget-minded traveler needs for a few days in London. The location, for example, is excellent: close to Victoria Station, and thus linked by a short underground or bus ride to most areas of interest. Staff at the Carlton were very friendly and helpful, especially regarding storing luggage on the day of departure and recommendations for eating out in the neighborhood. Our family room (four adults) was enormous and very quiet, situated as it was on the back of the building. Bath was small; breakfast in the hotel was worth skipping. But these two minor points hardly detracted from a thoroughly pleasant stay at a very good price. I will definitely stay there again. Best, CWH, Munich

If we think London is not a cheap place to visit at any way I think Carlton Hotel and many more situated in the same Belgrave Road str. are the answer to medium families that are looking for cheaper places to take bed and breakfast. Don't wait for any marvellous chance, but it's very correct service for the price they asked. We can repeat again without problem for three of us. Very well situated to take a walk to every place.

LA VERDAD ES QUE LLEGAMOS EL PRIMER DIA Y NOS PUSIERON EN UNA HABITACIÓN DEL SÓTANO, QUE ADEMÁS CREO QUE NI ERA LEGAL, PORQUE ERA UNA SALIDA DE EMERGENCIA O ALGO ASI EN LA PUERTA PONIA FIRE DOOR KEEP SHUT, ASI QUE PEDIMOS INMEDIATAMENTE SER CAMBIADOS PERO ESA NOCHE NO PUDO SER, ASI QUE NOS CAMBIARON EL DIA SIGUIENTE A UNA HABITACIÓN DE LA PRIMERA PLANTA, QUE AL MENOS TENÍA VISTAS A LA CALLE, EL RECEPCIONISTA MUY ANTIPÁTICO Y ENCIMA POR LAS NOCHES NOS QUITABAN LA CALEFACCIÓN Y TENIA QUE LLAMAR A LAS 4 DE LA MAÑANA PARA QUE ME LA CONECTARAN ¿QUE ES ESO?. OS DIGO SINCERAMENTE QUE YO AHI NO VUELVO PORQUE PREFIERO PAGAR UN POCO MÁS Y ALOJARME EN HOTELES QUE ESTAN TAMBIÉN EN BELGRAVE ROAD Y MUCHO MEJORES (POR 20 EUROS MAS).

I'm disapointed. When we arrived, there were postcards on the wall writtens by several travellers from several countries. All these people were delighted. Well, i guess that the tenant wrote the postcards himself. The rooms were small, especially the bathroom. The Heating was working though the température wasn't so cold (about 13°C during the night) and we had to open the window so the noise came in... The bathroom wasn't really clean. There was moisture on the curtain of the shower. The breakfast was given in a small room without comfort. There was toasted bread (2 or 4 slices, if you want more, you have to ask and wait and perhaps...), butter, jam... A small and too simple continental breakfast. Good luck ! We won't come back.

I WAS NICELY SURPRISED. I DID EXPECT TO GO IN QUITE A FILTHY PLACE INSTEAD I MUST TELL ROOM THOUGH SMALL WERE NICE AND CLEAN, TOILET INCLUDED IN ROOM CLEAN AND WITH WARM WATER. STAFF WAS KIND, ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG LADY WHO WELCOMED US. I WAS THERE WITH MY TWO KIDS AND FELT SAFE. IF EVER I WILL BACK TO LONDON I WILL SURELY BOOK AGAIN THERE. I FEEL THE PRICE/QUALITY RATE FOR A LONDON HOTEL WAS GOOD AND FAIR. HAVE BEEN HAPPY TO STAY THERE FEW DAYS.

On the whole the hotel was all right. The hotel room was small and the bath very close, but if one is there only in order to sleep, it is okay. And, finally, one does not come to London to spend the whole day in the hotel! The nearness to Victoria Station is ideal and the bus route (line 24!)to belgrave road which drives 24 hours the day, is from big advantage. If one has no covered expectations to a hotel and is content with a modest, but, nevertheless, clean accommodation, one can spend the night in this hotel well. The price-performance ratio votes.
