Based on location, views, and hospitality, we can't imagine a better place to stay in Les Baux than Le Prince Noir. When we saw the views from our windows and terrace, my first three words were, "Wow, wow, wow!" For the days we were there, we felt like residents of Les Baux, two of the fortunate people who lived there rather than daily visitors.

The most romantic imaginable atmosphere in the furnishings of the room and b&b, the views from our windows of the town and cliffs, the terrace with a sunset view. The town is charming and the b&b well situated for daytrips. Helpful hosts and delicious breakfasts. A highlight of our two-week stay in France.

What can I say other than Le Prince Noir is unlike anywhere we have ever stayed in all our travelling. Ute and Benoit are perfect hosts, the suites are gorgeous, the rooftop terrace offers sweeping views of the Alpilles and the fortress of Les Baux. I only wish we would have stayed here longer. It was worth every penny. Breakfast is served gracefully in your room (or the terrace--I highly recommend the terrace) and was outstanding. Rooms are quiet and cool in the heat of the day, no a/c is needed. The fortress is spectacular and offers unparalled views of the entire valley and Alpilles. The town of Baux is a charming medieval town open only to pedestrians and in the evening when all the tourists left, we were able to stroll the stone streets almost completely alone--very enchanting. There are at least a handful of restaurants in the town, so there is no need to go out of Baux in the evening if you choose not to do so. Traveler's note: Le Prince Noir is up at almost the top of the village. It is quite an incline, especially with backpacks, and I would not recommend for those who cannot walk easily uphill or those with health conditions that strain legs or heart. A definitely romantic, unique, experience.

This is one of the most jaw-droppingly cool hotels my mom and I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world, and we travel quite a lot. It was a totally unique experience, just wonderful in every conceivable way, and no trip to Provence is complete without it, unless perhaps one is considering handicap accessibility. Beyond that, this place would be fascinating for everyone, it's basically part of medieval ruins, built into the rock and old stone walls like nothing I've ever seen. The food was awesome, Les Baux in general was oozing with charm, and I recommend this place 250% to anyone who wants to see a totally different, but equally charming side of Provence, get a strong sense of history and enjoy great restaurants all crammed into one little village on a craggy hilltop. The place is incredible. Please, please go.

Excellent building and easy to find. Our hosts were fantastic and provided an excellent breakfast. Great outlook over town. Parking is in a public car park about 5 mins walk away, but it was not a problem.

We were simply happy to find such a nice location in Les Beaux, having the possibility to enjoy the village at hours when the mass of daily visitors is absent.

We have stayed here twice and would recommend it highly. The owners are extremely pleasant and accomodating, prices are reasonable and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the old village is terrific. Les Baux itself is close to both St. Remy and Avignon and is very historic and interesting. When the tourists have left at the end of the day, you'll find yourself walking peacefully and almost alone along the winding cobblestone streets. Le Prince Noir is almost hidden within the rock walls and yet is a very unique, private and comfortable place. We're hoping to return again.

Excellent. Beautiful little B&B in the centre of Les Baux. Our hostess was very welcoming for us non-french speakers and helpful. Breakfast was great, the views even better. If your in Provence, This is a great place to stay. (the showers were nothing less than a 10/10).

This is really a very lovely property, which is well located (in the centre of les baux, one of the most beautiful village in france). the breakfast is probably one of the best we had during our stay in France. From a purely esthetical view point, this B&B deserves (at least) 4 stars. though the facilities it offers are limited and we notably suffered from the absence of "air conditionné" (we were there during the July’s "canicule"). We stayed here in early April. Ute was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We enjoyed looking over tourist information provided there while eating and firming up our plans for the day. The place is very beautiful, built onto the rock which gives a very interesting feel to the rooms. The room was a suite, very spacious and with access to a rooftop sitting area with a great view of the town and surroundings. The view from our room was great as well. Warmly recommended.

We loved Le Prince Noir, but a word of caution: Les Baux is a "Village Perche" and LPN is the highest building in the entire village, access is not easy either by car or on foot. If you are not reasonably fit and able to climb steep cobbled streets and very steep stairways, don't do it. Also the 2 Suites are excellent for 2 people and up to 2 children, but the third room (La Dame au Licorne), although having a Queen bed, is suitable only for 1 person owing to the plumbing arrangements!

Our hosts were very welcoming and provided a wonderful breakfast to us each morning. Our room was at the highest point in Les Baux and the views were absolutely spectacular. Our rooms were actually built into the side of the cliff and left a great memory for our children and ourselves. Heartily recommended for an original experience.

Our best to Benoit and Ute. This is a unique, charming, romantic establishment. We would return in a flash. You do have to get your luggage up the hill but the hill is not long. And it is all worth it!

The owners were terrific and the service was attentive. We loved the more than ample breakfast on the terrace in the morning.
