Bed and Breakfast Il Vicolo - Lecce

The location was excellent in the center of the historical district. The building was charming but the owners invested minimal effort in furnishing the apt. There were no pictures on the wall; there was no soap for washing; one of the couches in the living area was broken; the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. There was a gassy smell in the apt. from the cooking burners. Breakfast turned out to be a coupon to go to a nearby bar for a coffee and cornetto. The owner had promised transportation to and from the train station but did not provide this.

It is not hotel but apartaments. Everything is really excellent (location, quietness, spaciousness) but it took enough time to warm cold room and breakfast is poor (cofee with croissant) in is being served in the bar nearby.

Due to poor signal our text communication from train broke down, thanks to Taxi driver we were met by Paolo who was most helpful. Would never have found Il Vicolo otherwise-arriving at night on train from Rome which was delayed - unfortunate. "B & B" not at all what we expected but we made the most of it-a bit stark. Position in Centro very good, cafes for breakfast excellent. Beautiful Baroque Lecce & it's people lovely!

Only real negative was the neighbour below who played loud music at strange hours--like 2:30 AM--we had to yell down at him. The owner should have a talk with the neighbour about this. we stayed 5 days and really enjoyed the apartment and the lovely terrace on which it was possible to eat. The apartment was spacious and had the necessary furniture and dishes. while advertised as B&B, it was really an apartment with breakfast vouchers you could use at 3 cafes--we preferred Tito Schipa, right off the main square. The owner lent us a parking pass to be able to park in the centre--very helpful! Would recommend Il vicolo to other travellers.

I stayed at Il Vicolo over New Years eve 2007-8 and had a fantastic time in Lecce. The appartment was enormous for two people, it was very well equipped and the sheets were changed every other day. It's location is excellent, about 2 mins walk from the main square -it really couldn't be better. We were met on arrival and given our car pass and many helpful suggestions on where to eat/shop etc. My only suggestion would be perhaps for the owners to invest in some new bedspreads. Although everything was clean, some of the furnishings were a little worn.

The apartment benefits from a kitchen, but is very poorly equipped in terms of cooking and eating utensils - we had to buy our own knife to be able to cut vegetables!

We were pleased with the property and have recommended it to our friends who will be stayng with you during the weekend of 11 September for our daughter's wedding!! The only minor problem we had was the drain from the shower being blocked. We hope this is now cleared as it would be a big inconvenience when Sharon's friends stay there.

An unbeatable place to stay in Lecce if you want your independence. The flat had a huge bedroom and living area, quirky bathroom and air conditioning both up and downstairs. Breakfast is by way of vouchers exchangeable at two cafes, which gives great flexibility. Central location and easy to find, after the first time.

There was no cleaning of the room provided for the entire week. There was no change of towels. The was very little furniture and cutlery and very dark in the apartment, e.g. no lamp for reading. Only three glasses. No instruction for the heating system. The fridge had not been cleaned.
