Bed and Breakfast Antica Villa La Viola - Lecce

The room was too small (the ceiling wasn't high enough), the price too high, the historical center too far.

We thought we had booked a room but we were given a spacious apartment! The host and hostess were very charming and helpful and we loved the delicious pastries delivered personally each morning. We also had the use of the beautiful garden to have our lunch. We would love to stay there again.

The breakfast was realy poor. Gararge is 2oo m away and a little bit strange.

We have enjoyed our stay, For our programme we had very valuable informations. Every morning we received fresh "pasticci", speciality of Lecce.

Antica Villa La Viola is a gracious country house which was swallowed up by the city during the last century. In what was the gardner's accomodation Giampaolo and Sofia di Giorgi have created an excellent small B&B. The house is set back from the road and the B&B accomodation is at the rear of the building so it is very quiet. The rooms are well-furnished and comfortable with excellent bathrooms. The breakfast is Italian - we especially appreciated the still-warm pastries that were brought in every morning. We were given the choice of having someone come in to prepare teas and coffees or DIY. We chose DIY for flexibility. The kitchen area is not set-up for full self-catering but was available to make early-morning and afternoon teas. The proprieters were very friendly and helpful. The B&B is a max. 10 minute walk from the historic centre of Lecce and also from the station if you want to explore father afield. To compensate for that you have a good range of local services close at hand. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

Dont be mislead by the fact that Antica Villa La Viola is called a B&B - the accommodation is really self contained, fabulously spacious and stunningly beautiful apartments. The hosts - Giampaulo and Sofia - are unbelievably generous and helpful: picked me up at the railway station (even though its an easy walk), kept me well supplied with gluten free food and had lots of useful information about this glorious city. There cannot be anywhere better to stay in Lecce.

Lovely B&B in a beautiful, classic home. The owners are very gracious, helpful, warm and welcoming. The little kitchenette was a pleasant surprise, and made it easy to eat in our room when we didn't feel like going out to eat. The location is great, a 10 minute walk from the city center.

I am so pleased to be able to give an unqualified approval for this residence. There are two B&B rooms with a small common living room, a breakfast room and small kitchen. Since our party of three took both rooms, it was like have a small house. The property was a great surprise. It was like a small country estate in the middle of Lecce and only a short walk to the center of town. Impeccably clean and quiet as a country villa, we could not have been more comfortable. While the owners have a garage nearby, we were always able to find street parking. The owners were one of the nicest things about this charming B&B. Sofia and Gianpaolo could not have been more charming and kind. Gianpaolo even took a bunch of dollars to his bank to convert for me. I would stay here again without any hesitation. Lecce was lovely and our experience at Antica Villa Viola just made it even more so.

Nel caldo quasi insopportabile,soprattutto pomeridiano, della città un'oasi di pace a due passi dal bel centro storico. Facile da raggiungere, quasi un appartamento a nostra disposizione. Cordiale e ben informato su Lecce e dintorni il Sig. De Giorgi; sicuramente da rivedere.

This was a fantastic place to stay, among the very best values I had on a two month-trip. It was spotlessly clean with a beautiful bathroom, good breakfast, laundry, and free internet. It’s really more of a nice apartment than a room. The B&B was attached to a large house with a very nice garden that I had access to and set back from the street in a residential area so it was very quiet. The owners, Sophia and Don Carlo, were wonderful. They were extremely helpful and very concerned that my stay was as pleasant as possible. Don Carlo even gave me a ride to Otranto when he had some business there and ordered a sandwich at a deli for my train trip the day I left. The B&B is located slightly outside the historical center but the walk is less than ten minutes. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Lecce.

We had an extremely warm welcome to this well situated accommodation. It is 10 minutes walk from the historic centre down wide safe streets and easy to return to in the middle of the day. There is air conditioning but we had wet cool weather so were not able to try it out. Mosquito prevention was provided. The breakfast was adequate and parking is available which in a busy city is very useful.Driving in and out of the garage however needs a good nerve and ability to be patient if the entrance happens to be blocked by casual parking.It is easy to go south from the city to Italy's heel but the traffic elsewhere is heavy. We found this to be excellent value accommodation in a very convenient position with very helpful and friendly hosts.

B&B Antica Villa La Viola is very nice. Clean, quiet, elegant and best of all - the owners who are friendly and very, very helpful. They gave good information about restaurants, sightseeing, and assisted when we rent a car. I long to go back to Lecce and would definitely stay at Antica Villa La Viola again.
