Excellent location and friendly staff. But the rooms were too small and many things in the bathrooms didn't work. There was a fridge nowhere to be plugged in. Until the end of the stay the staff couldn't deliver the proper cable. It was noisy in the hotel and not very clean...We were in no way looking for luxury, wanted just a decent stay, but it was much below our expectations.

This hotel is cheep especially for the location. But I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. What happend to us was when we arrived at the hotel they told me they forgot to book the room for us.the thing is they have 2 or 3 hotels.so you don't know where you stay actually. And they gave us another room which we were not expected and wasn't ready yet so we had to wait few hours. The room looked refurbished very badly. I can't explain well cuz too many things are wrong. drain is stuck, shower room is mold and smell bad, wall is thin, cats are coming around in the hotel,no toilet paper was prepared. anyway this is istanbul quality I guess.

The location is excellent if you want to explore old town but please beware that it is like a hostel and not a hotel. The rooms are very basic and there is no service infrastructure. The room I stayed in didn't even have proper lights working.

The rooms are quite small, in four days the rooms were not made up or cleaned, neither sheets nor towels were refreshed. the shower was tiny and leaked across the floor. The room was clean to start, so it was ok. Breakfast buffet of wonderful tomatoes, cucumber, boiled eggs, tea/instant coffee and bread was downstairs at the annex, the building where we stayed. The location is excellent, the property is funky at best, but the price is right.

Dirty, noisy, with smelly mattresses, not worth the money. Right at a super noisy street were all the traffic to Sultanahmet is going through and close to the train tracks. Avoid to get Room No.102. Breakfast was ok. For 35 to 40 Euros per night there might be better options in the surroundings. The only good thing: it's just a 3 minute walk to the Blue Mosque.

The location is PERFECT to see all monuments, the surroundings are quiets and the best thing is that this hotel is clean. The receptionists speaks a good english and the breakfast is good. The terrace has got a wonderful view on the Blue mosque. I will recommend this hotel to everybody.

The Hotel has an excellent location, very close to the most important spots. The staff is very helpful, friendly and efficient. And some details really make the difference: lots of explanations upon our arrival regarding what to see and what to do in Istanbul; help in providing Taxis and making the necessary arrangements with the drivers (by the way, there is a Taxi station just in front of the Hotel…); the complimentary tea, served everyday at 5 o’clock pm; the non strict obedience to the breakfast time-table (if you let yourself in bed beyond the alarm clock time, don’t worry: you will still have the opportunity to have a relaxing breakfast after 10:30). As an overall judgment I am sure that sefa Hotel (and Istanbul, of course) is a mandatory returning point!
