The only problems was the promise for free mineralwater and a fruitbasket in the room. there was no fruitbasket and the mirneral was charged in the end. sometimes it was quite a nois in the hotel even at night. altogheter it was a nice and convenient place to stay.

Cannot fault the staff or how close the hotel is to the main facilities. However, our room (106) had no view except for the dining/bar area and was directly above the location of the beer/storage room and consequently every night about midnight you have the sound of empty beer kegs being run into the storage. Also, mattress is on the hard side, so if you are used to soft one - beware! Hotel in a poorer area of the city, but perfectly safe and friendly and only 500mtrs from the Blue Mosque Overall a great hotel, pity about individual room as I know other rooms are much better in relation to view and noise.

Hotel staff very welcoming, professional, and helpful. Neighborhood run down, but overall location good, and within walking distance to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, etc.

The hotel was difficult to find as wrongly positioned on the map supplied. Directions for walking from tram stop (c5-10 minute walk) would have saved us nearly an hour of walking round the area asking for directions. When we finally got there, both the welcome & the room were warm (it was a very cold evening). Our room was so clean & comfortable that we forgot to notice it was a bit small. Fresh fruit daily was very welcome & the (inclusive) breakfasts were lavish. Hotel very well situated for all major sites, & close to tram stop, so easy to access transport to all parts of the city. We'd definitely recommend it.

Our rating is based only on the suite in which we occupied. This was our first visit to Istanbul and regretfully only a 1 day layover. Our stay at the Garden House Hotel, combined with it's locality, has made Istanbul and this hotel a must return leisure visit for us.

Istanbul is fantastic and the Garden House is a prize gem in that city. Quite probably the most friendly and welcoming hotel I have stayed. The staff and proprietor could not have been more helpful and whilst a small hotel with modest sized rooms and facilities, it is a real sanctuary. The garden terrace is wonderful and the breakfasts are something to be looked forward to. It really is as close to the Blue Mosque and other attractions as their material says. Definately will stay again.

Hotel Garden House is a wonderful, welcoming place. The staff are highly competent, friendly, and obliging in a low-key way. When we returned to the Hotel every evening, it felt like a home-coming. The rooms are clean, larger than we expected, and comfortable; the individual air conditioning unit worked well as did the wireless internet connection. The bathrooms are ample. Breakfast is served in the hotel's beautiful backyard -- a combination of garden, terrace cafe, and bar -- and it is feast for the fruit-lover. Large bowls with delicious fresh apricots, small pears, cherries, heavenly watermelon, nectarines, kiwi fruit, etc., awaited us every morning; there were also eggs cooked to order, breads, baked goods, yogurt, etc. The garden/terrace is a very inviting place to relax and read, or plan your day, or to watch a football game on the large, flat-screen television. Turkish tea and coffee are available without charge all day long on the terrace. Every afternoon, the hotel delivers a wicker basket with cherries and other fruit to every room. The only negative thing about the hotel is that its immediate neighborhood is poor and shabby, but the hotel's location is very close to the major sites -- the Blue Mosque, Haya Sofia, Topkapi, the Hippodrome, etc. -- and we had no problems whatsoever walking to and from the hotel day or night. We love this place and its friendly people, and we look forward to returning to Istanbul and Hotel Garden House.

We stayed 4 nights in Istanbul at the Garden House hotel. The placement is in a residential area with lots of stores, restaurants and amenities very close by. The Blue Mosque is in walking distance. Our rooms were on the top floor with one overlooking the Garden and the other a neighbouring street - both were excellent.

Very kind people and excellent hospitality. Every afternoon fresh free fruit offered in a basket in your room and at breakfast a milkshake with fruits. In the garden you can have anytime a coffee or tea and it was never charged on the bill. We never got beer or wine of course. No lift but max 2 floors.

This is a quiet friendly small hotel in the old city, near to the Blue Mosque. It is well furnished, in a modern comfortable style, in an old 19th Ottoman mansion with a wooden exterior. The courtyard garden is a welcome oasis after the bustle of the city, and a nice touch is the free coffee and tea, and cold water provided at any time. The staff are friendly and efficient, helpful at all times. The breakfast is a good buffet with a variety of different foods, and an ample supply of fruit is available. We would recommend using the hotel transport to and from the airport, as it may be difficult to find otherwise in the small streets of Sultanahmed.

The staff (especially the Manager) is very efficient, helpful and informative. The manager is able to provide important and useful advice/information about Istanbul and how to get around Istanbul. People who like old Istanbul will appreciate the hotel especially the surroundings. The hotel is very clean and suitable for family. Service provided is very efficient. For example even though the hotel did not provide coffee making facility in room (but you can get it 24 hours by making a phone call to the receptionist), but after my request, they provided it without any question. Well done.

The 'Garden House Hotel' exceeded all expectations. The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful and spoke excellent English. The location was pefect, walking distance to the Blue Mosque, TopKapi Palace etc. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

This was a good and welcoming hotel which looked after us well. Close to the main tourist sites. The rooms were bigger than our usual experience in Europe at this price range. All the staff spoke good English and were pleased to help. Breakfast was of a reasonable standard, though not a highlight. We used their car service for a couple of journeys. This was reliable and offered a minibus as well as ordinary cars. A local taxi was cheaper on the only comparable journey we made with one. We would use the hotel again.

The hotel's pre arranged late night pick up at the airport was excellent . We found the reception area dingy with a sad looking santa claus on the wall holding a " welcome" sign . However the staff was helpful , the location , 5 minutes from the blue mosque excellent . The room was spotless with a modern bath room . we would have appreciated something other than Nescafe for breakfast coffee !!

A splendid hotel, nice and friendly staff who were most helpful and arranged trips and transfers for us very efficiently. the hotel was in a nice quiet area with very little traffic and very close to the tourist area of the sultanhamet.the room was spacious and spotless, overall, a really nice hotel.

Clean building with friendly staff. We negotiated a good rate for a triple but I thought the rates for single and double that were posted may have been a bit high for the property given what we had seen in other areas around the Sultanahmet. You are paying for location. Breakfasts were decent but room had a strange odour the second time we visited.

I stayed there 5 nights together with my wife. It was a pleasant experience. Next time in Istanbul I shall stay there again. We arrived at 02.00 a.m. at Sabiha Airport. The hotel offered transfer for 50 EUR, which we used, arriving at the hotel about 03.45. Transfer driver and nightporter worked reliable and were awaiting us. Later I learnt that taxi from Sabiha into the old town charges about 60 EUR. Furthermore the hotel ist quietly hidden in very small old streets, very hard to find for a driver not knowing the location. Hence I strongly recommend using the hotel´s transfer service for the first time.

I only stayed at the hotel for a weekend, and since I was in Istanbul for a wedding, I didn't really spend much time at the premises. Nevertheless, when I did stop by, the hotel staff was kind and very accommodating, my rum was in top condition, and I had a very nice impression overall. Recommended.

We stayed at the hotel one night after a cruise of the Black Sea which already included one night on board. The hotel itself exceeded expectations considering the moderate price. It is very convenient to attractions in the old part of Istanbul. The only problem is accessing by taxi as neither of the ones we had occasion to take knew the street, which was in an area just south of the Blue Mosque where the streets were small and winding, and had to drive round and round trying to find it. Also, beware about the arranged tours: their quality is much exaggerated.
