Bed and Breakfast Villa Selva Country House - San Terenziano, Gualdo Cattaneo

Unfortunately nights were cold although room had radiators thay did not couldnot be turned on. Also the room had a nice bath but the hot water supply/tank was insufficient to provide anything more that a quick shower. We were told the bath and radiators was just for show and it was an old house ?

Place impossible to find, directions wrong. Upon arrival, we were told No credit cards. This changed when we refused to pay cash. Toilet had to be flushed by turning water on and off manually because of leak. Breakfasts sparse. Hotel so empty that noise reverberated. Little outside seating. Place pbviously closing for repairs/season. Not helpful in sites to see etc. Might be nice when ready for guests.

Gora is terrific and the delight of Villa Selva. My fondest memories of my stay are of Gora. The location is good, within driving distance to many hill towns and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Villa Selva is nice but with a bit more attention and care from the owners, it could be an even more desirable destination.

Many thanks to Ms. Goranka – lady "G", the flamboyant house keeper and the living soul of the place. Together with her loyal aide – her son Seyf they bring life and color to the tranquil and secluded villa. Our warm advice to the owner of the place is to install air-conditioners or at least ceiling mounted fans. Though visiting in September time, we could make a very good use of them. The map of the area is poor and obscured. To get to Villa Selva coming from Todi, enter Grutti, then after 800 meters make a left to Loreto. After another 500 meters going down the hill, you’ll find the villa to your left.

The web paege under "Facilities" lists a restaurant and many of the guest comments rave about the fool. That is misleading, as the restaurant is only open about 2 months a year. The farm house is very hard to find. The diections state that one should drive on the expressway E45 until the exit Orvieto-Todi and direct yourself towards the town of Grutti. Unfortubately, there is not one road sign for Grutti. The directions should be: "Take SP 417 towards San Terenziano, and after 4 km take a right following the sign for Loreto. Go through the village of Loreto then up a steep hill, Villa Selva will be on the right under some tall trees." We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Villa Selva to others.

Villa Selva is a perfec place for relaxing and enjoing the beautiful surroundings. Try to get the large penthouse appartment (we got it for 80 Euro pr. night). The pool is perfect and their is a nice little town nearby with a good restaurant. Only downsides are the owners who are very nice, but not that service minded, and did not go that extra mile, like offering homecooked meals as the homepage indicated. Also be sure to have good driving directions, it is very far from the main road, and dificult to find.

A wonderful country house set within stunning countryside. The only fault I could possibly find is that the directions to the house were awful and painfully lacking in detail, as the village you are trying to find is tiny a few more directions would have made finding it easier and quicker! Apart from that I cannot fault the Villa Selva as it was fantastic. Superb staff who were so friendly and welcoming. A large, well appointed room with beautiful views across the cornfields. The location is stunning and I would say if you are looking for a quality, quiet place to stay as a base for exploring this wonderful area, then this is the place. Wonderful, I would highly recommend the Villa Selva and hope to return in the future.

Great place to stay, nice pool, great views of the Umbrian countryside towards Todi, very welcoming, some excellent local restaraunts, good Engish spoken.

Pity we were not told there would be no dinner on arrival, due to low number of tourists

Julia and Stefano make Villa Selva the great place that it is. We are experinced Italian visitors over the last 20 years and we can highly recomend Vills Selva due to the staff. They went far beyond expectations and gave us a great stay. We were sorry to leave and if we hadn't had a confirmed booking to go to we would not have. Stefano by organizing dinners on the Terrace we met some great fellow travellers from Holland and beat the heat in late june of 06. The area around villa Selva is very intersting Montefalco, Spoleto, Oriveto, Civatta and Todi. Highly recommend to all

Andrea and Isabelle were most helpful and friendly. The apartment was beyond my expectations and the price was VERY reasonable for the accommodations. I would reccommend this property to anyone I know.

This was the best property we stayed at in our travels all over Italy. The welcome was unsurpassed and everything was beyond any expectations we had. We would go back any time. The price is great as is everything about Villa Selva.

We loved staying at the Villa Selva, and we plan on returning soon for an extended stay. It is one of the nicest facilities I have ever been to and I am telling all of my friends about our visit.

The staff is unbelievable. They are very friendly, while being very professional. 1st class service. Great food. Extremely quiet. A great place to relax.

Of the 7 different places we stayed in Italy- this was our favourite by far. Overlooking the Umbrian vallies, swimming pool, lovely room, fantastic food + wine, charismatic owners...we are already planning to return.
