A beautifully-appointed country villa with charming staff. Its location is only slightly spoiled by the proximity of the road. Car is virtually essential, but there's a really good restaurant less than a mile down the hill. Not all rooms have a/c.

Fabulous place. Incredible surroundings, great staff and wonderful dinner at the hotel. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Only problem was initially finding the place, it did not register on our GPS unit and is actually closer to Panzano rather than Greve.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. It is located conveniently in the Chianti region so that it is possible to visit other towns. However, upon our arrival, it was obvious that the room had just been sprayed for bugs because the bed was covered with dozens of dead mosquitoes. I guess we’d rather they be dead than flying around, but it would have been nice if the bedspread was shaken before we arrived. The staff was accommodating and helpful. We had a delicious homemade Tuscan meal at Villa Rosa. Even with the dead mosquitoes, we’d like to stay here again, and maybe get a cooking lesson or two! Breakfast was the usual coffee, juice, rolls, and yogurt.

Lovely quiet country house. The evening mel provided, cooked by " a lady from the village" in Tuscan home cooked style was really exceptional in quality, taste and value. We will return there.

We enjoyed ourselves at villarosa and the staff were attentive, the bed and rooms were comfortable. In view of the warm weather, provision of cool water and facilites for making drinks like coffe and tea would have been appreciated. Grazie millevole Andrew Everett

The accomodations were very good. They seemed to be understaffed, so we were unable to check in when we wanted.

No indication was given that the villa sits directly on the road. Crossing the street to parking could be dangerous as villa is on a curve. Only one server for breakfast and he was very harried and overworked. Service was slow and there was much banging of dishes and glasses. Breakfastwas not a peaceful experience.

I highly recommend this B&B!!! It is in a beautiful area of Tuscany, and within driving distance of Florence and Siena. The view from our room, #6, was spectacular. The pool area and the surrounding grounds offer beautiful views all around. The room was squeaky clean and wonderfully furnished! The breakfast is nothing more than Continental, but when you look outside, who cares! The B&B is not in Greve itself but in an area called Panzano, which is about 5-10 minutes away. I can only give Villa Rosa the most glowing of reviews, and without a doubt, I would stay there again...only longer!

The hotel offers good room accomodations. The staff is very friendly and does its utmost to make your stay pleasant. Somewhat disappointing was the hotel accomodation, which is not a problem for guests being sightseing during the day.

Location was excellent. Room was beautiful. Surroundings of the inn were excellent (backyard is a vineyard). The pool looked beautiful (we did not go in because of the cold). Dinner was excellent. They don't have a menu, they just cook what ever they feel like that night depending on how many guests are coming. Staff was knowledgable. The inn was also close to Greve and other towns in Chianti.

This is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for a tranquil setting with good access to the surrounding area. The food is great.

This was the most beautiful property I have ever stayed at. I would return again a hundred times over. The staff was exceptional. The view spectacular. They prepared a fabulous dinner for us that was incredibly well priced. The pool was clean and a welcome respite from the heat. I would recommend it to anyone.

We were the only guests at Villa Rosa as it had not formally opened for the season. We had been told in Florence (where we stayed in another hotel owned by the same people)that because Villa Rosa was not yet ready for the season, we would be given a room in one of the annexes but at a reduced rate. When we got to Villa Rosa we were greeted warmly, and shown the room -- which turned out to be a suite that we had all to ourselves. Giancarlo Avuri himself was at Villa Rosa to make sure we were comfortable; after he left we were in the capable hands of the resident housekeeper, Patricia. She was cheerful and gracious, bringing a large bouquet of wild tulips to grace our sitting area. Breakfasts were simple -- juice and coffee or tea, yogurt, bread, and a few condiments -- and were brought to our room at an agreed-upon time. The dining room was not open, but Giancarlo recommended several near-by restaurants and gave us detailed maps of the area, with suggested day trips from Villa Rosa. Our room was immaculate and spacious, and a good value for the price. We would definitely recommend Villa Rosa.

Everything was wonderful except the breakfast. All hotels we stayed in offered at least fuit and meats and cheeses. This hotel offered only rolls, juice and yogurt.

The food, service setting etc are wonderful. However, if it is too hot to close the windows then sleep is impossible due to the number of lorries roaring past.

Staff and owners were great. They upgraded us to a room with a terrace which was wonderful. It is a very central location, with easy access to all local towns and cities. Hope to go back some day.

A very enjoyable stay. A Villa with character and charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Villa is quite isolated and may not be suited to those without transport or those who prefer to be in the centre of activities!
