Il Casello Country House B&B - Panzano, Greve in Chianti

Stayed for four glorious nights and wished it were a week. No car, so walked everywhere or went by bus to Greve. Panzano a steep 1 1/2 km walk but a delightful little hill town with good restaurants. Great centre for hiking and relaxing in beautiful countryside.

Excellent place. very charming and right next to a family run winery. would definitely go back in a heartbeat.

Il Casello was a beautiful place in a beautiful setting.

We stayed at Il Casello for 7 nights, using their location as a central point for travels around Tuscany as they are ideally located on the 222 just outside beautiful Panzano-in-Chianti. The breakfasts were wonderful and well presented. We looked forward to starting our day in their lovely dining room. The staff was very helpful in making reservations at wineries and answering our questions about the area. Rooms and facilities were clean and well kept, beds comfortable with charming decor. The surrounding area is so lovely, the view from our room incredible. We would stay there again and recommend to friends. The hotel is well located with pleasant walks in countyside nearby that figured in the movie Much Ado and close to both Greve and Panzano. The room was comfortable. The garden is pleasant and so is the pool and very suitable for children. While the proximity to the Greve/Panzano road is an advantage in locating the hotel it is can be noisy in the evenings. Also there is no restaurant within walking distance at present although an evening meal is available. We had a very pleasant stay and would stay again.

The best place to stay in Chianti - and Tuscany!

We had a wonderful stay at "Il Casello". They offered an appartment for the same price and we've got the "belvedere"-hay loft. Beautifully furnished and spacious. The breakfast was good. For sure we will come back. Ask for the appartment. Angela was very nice and did all to make us feel home. It's good to speak some Italian, but at the reception, they understand English. They gave us helpful information for excursions. We stayed 5 days and can fully recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful experience at this Tuscan B & B. Angela and her helpers were very warm and welcoming. It did not matter that we did not speak Italian and she spoke little English. We would return-hopefully soon! (Two adult couples)

Great place to stay for a quiet Chianti retreat for two. Between Greve and Panzano.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of Podere Il Casello. Whenever you reserve a place online it is always a guessing game if the property will be as nice as what you see on the site. Well, I have to say that the online pictures did not do Il Casello justice. My friends and I had a fantastic time and the facilities were excellent. Mr. Norbidelli, who works at the front desk, was very nice and speaks English, but it was Angela, who lives on the property and also works at the front desk, who was the warm welcome after a long day of traveling. Although she does not speak English, she was very helpful and accommodating. It just takes a little bit of patience and understanding. My friends and I absolutely loved our visit!

We loved the podere il casello and would stay again. excellent location and cleanliness. beautiful linens. view and terraces as well as pool lovely. very secure and all locked up at night. helpful with our children especially 14 month old. nearby panzano a treat and the restaurant next door was good but a bit expensive compared to nearby towns. excellent stay .

The room was a bit small, but extremely charming and quaint.

I enjoyed my stay at PODERE IL CASELLO. The surrounding area is very nice, and the location is great: half way between Siena and Florence! Breakfast is a little bit poor......

Pleasant vacation, nice stay at Il Casello

This is a beautiful place but there are two fundamental issues: there is a ridiculous amount of security so that it is often impossible to get in or out of the establishment and the only staff on the premesis does not speak any english

A real find! Wonderful & helpful staff. Lovely vistas over the valleys. Short walk to nearby ristorante for excellent dinner & fine Chianti wine. Not expensive. Each room is unique, with several comfortable and intimate sitting rooms for familly or friendly gatherings. Internet dialup possible from room phone.

A very nice hotel, in the country but 5 minute drive to Greve. Breakfast offering was poor, especially for the overall price and quality of the hotel in general. But otherwise a very nice room and location.
