This B&B was very good. The only problem is the parking. The parking is a public parking about 5 minutse walking form the B&B. The B&B is situated on the 1st floor (no elevator). But the welcoming and the quality of service was very good.

This B&B was a great way to se Genoa. You could walk everywhere and see more of the real downtown, not only the Marina area. The owner was super helpful and nice.

The proprietor and his wife were both very friendly and welcoming. His English is pretty good and she understands some as well. He spent time with us over a map of Genova to recommend where to visit. Breakfast was good too. Sometimes breakfast in Italy is just a croissant and coffee, but they offered us several choices of pastry, tea or coffee, cereal, fruit salad, and even eggs. It was a good choice for the price.

We loved our hosts. Paola is quite a remarkable woman and by the time we left after a stay of just three nights, we felt as though we had gained friends in Genoa, and not just a place to sleep. It was our first visit to Genoa and I hope it will not be our last. When we go again, the first thing I'll do will be to try to book a room here.

By carFrom the east, leave the highway at Genova Est and follow the indications to the Stazione Brignole railway station, just a few meters from the b&b Essiale.
From the west, leave the highway at Genova Ovest, follow the Strada Sopraelevata, take exit centro città, continuing on largo XII Ottobre, Piazza Corvetto and then via Serra, after the traffic light turn left on via Gropallo where the b&b Essiale is located.
