Some rooms have canopied double beds, private bathroom and minibar.
From the window there is a fine view of the Castle grounds and the surrounding countryside.
In Canonica 4 double rooms, all with brickwork flooring and large windows, are situated on the first floor. French windows opposite the entrance lead directly to the Wine Lodge lawn, the herb gardens and the swimming pool. All rooms with private bathroom and minibar.

This is an actual castle and when we stayed, we were the only guests in the castle. It is locked up at night and all of the lights are turned off. So when you enter at night, you have to let yourself in, find the light switch in the various rooms to make your way through the castle and up dark, winding staircases to your room. So it was a little spooky. Having said that, the room was very nice although a little quiet as there is no radio, TV nor clock nor is there heat in the room other than a smelly space heater. The castle staff was very nice and helpful and really went out of their way to assist us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and had one of four rooms located within the actual castle. The pool and surrounds were beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was fantastic with pastries, cereals, ham/cheese, spreads and fruit available. The castle offered a free tour of the castle plus wine tasting.

How to reach B&B Castello di Meleto

By car
Arriving from Florence : Take the A1 motorway, direction Rome, after 40 km exit at Valdarno and follow the indications for Montevarchi.
Once you pass the overhead sign entering Montevarchi follow indications for Gaiole in Chianti and continue on State road no 408 for 25 km.
Arriving in Gaiole continue on state road 408 for 2 km and you will find a road sign to turn left for Castello di Meleto.
