I absolutely LOVED Soggiorno Panerai. Awesome super high frescoed ceilings. Very comfortable beds. Spacious bathroom. Very convenient internet. BEST breakfasts on trip. Such variety and well cooked (pastries, eggs, omelets, fresh fruit and way more). Super location (view of Duomo from windows/balcony). Lovely, helpful hosts. Quite quiet sleeping for proximity to Duomo. 4 days well spent here.

Was sadly disappointed. Arrived to a very scatter brained owner. Seemed to be confused. The room we were put in was ok. The beds were not comfortable at all. Many things were broken such as the safe, TV, lights. The owner did replace batteries in the remote but made no attempt to fix the safe which we really felt was not good as theft is prevalent in Italy. Also, when we requested coffee, we were told that the machine was broken. I began to wonder what was working. The rooms were by no means, quiet. The owner's husband was very loud in the hallways at 1AM. We heard entire conversations at that hour although it was in Italian. Breakfast was decent. A hair was found in one of our eggs. Bathroom was ok. Lots of hair along baseboards, etc. I would not choose this B&B again the next time I am in Florence. The location however was wonderful. Close to everything. The owners were very nice, just didn't seem like they had a very well run inn.

Albena went far out of her way to ensure we had a great stay and helped us with any issues we had or help we needed while in Florence. Her breakfasts were wonderful!

We stayed 4 nights in a room with a small balcony at Soggiorno Panerai, which is a clean and cozy B&B located within a 5-minute walk from Duomo. We had a private newly renovated bathroom (the towels were changed daily) and the host, Albina, served hot breakfasts (frittatas, hot rolls and croissants, butter, jam, cheese, etc.) and very good coffee in our room. The computer in the hallway is available 24 hours a day. The hosts are very friendly, Albina speaks good English and is very helpful. She marked our routes on the map and recommended the best places for us to eat and shop. We will recommend this place to our friends.

Albena and Walter were very helpful and are a delightful (cute) couple. They are always available! We thoroughly enjoyed the huge family room which has a view to the Duomo on the right. Breakfast was freshly prepared by Albena/Walter every morning and served in the room and there was fresh omelette everyday. Albena was quick to show us which places to see on our arrival at the B&B.

We felt welcome and like family from the first moment of our arrival. The rooms are very comfortable and private, and the location was perfect. The breakfast, which was delivered to our room every morning, was so delicious! Every day we had fritattas or omelets, fresh fruit and bread, and delicious capuccinos. Also, we were able to call our families on their telephone (which is connected to their internet) at no charge. I look forward to seeing Albana and Walter on our next trip to Florence... hopefully soon! We would not stay anywhere else! Ciao!!

Soggiorno Panerai is a mixed bag - the hostess is a bubbly, outgoing person anxious to help in any way. They have a computer with internet that is available for free which was wonderful, and a vending machine with coffee, hot choc. and tea for 50 cents. As soon as we arrived she sat us down with maps and tour books, and popped coins in the machine for our cappacino. She showed us the location of several important places, offered suggestions, and answered questions. But the rooms were not quite as nice as the pictures portray. Furniture is K-Mart quality. The comforter was stained and dirty looking, but the sheets were spotless and crisp. The shower head is the kind that can be handheld or not, but it was not secured sufficiently to hold it's head up by itself. The water was only luke warm. And there were lots of cobwebs. I didn't feel that it was as clean as it should be. Breakfast is at the OK Bar, across the street, which is a very nice bar with tables. You get to choose a coffee drink, a pastry, and a juice. The location is central, but at least a 15 min walk from the station. With a suitcase, early morning is an easy walk, but afternoon is challenging when there are a lot of people. The sidewalks are narrow. And, because Florence uses two different sets of address numbers (red/blue), one set for businesses, the other set for residential, you need to know which one you're seeking. In this case it's the one further from the Duomo, across from the OK Bar. ALSO... you need to get buzzed in, so look at the brass plate with the buttons. Find the one that says Soggiorno Panerai B&B, and ring the bell. They will buzz you in. She hurried down to meet us, too. It's a mixed bag, as I said. I'm not certain if I would choose it again or not. I guess it would depend on my budget. It certainly wasn't terrible.

Was a great place to stay, althogh it was booked for a site across street from check-in location. Room was huge by European standards. Excellent artwork on ceilling! Bed was worn, but not much different from all other booking in recent European vacation. Be prepared Florence is load city- used ear plugs for moped/bike activity you'll hear from streets below. Fantastic resturant next block, and easy to use laundry center on same block. Would definately recommend, staff very friendly and helpful in planning activities will there. Also they booked two reservations at top historical sites in advance for us as we requested, for free.

Just bear in mind that there are 'old' and 'new' numbers on the doors. don't dispair if you find yourself at a locked door. The one you want is opposite the OK Bar....lovely breakfast there too!

The owners wife showed us around Florence and took us to a family restaurant that had been around for a hundred years. The husband gave us a ride to the train station. All of which they offered on their own.
