What more can you say. This is a superb place to stay. For a hostel price with 5 star service. Grand designe of the place and both of the guys are so helpful and friendly. We received our hot breakfast in our room which was yummy! There's a little pizza place near by, which is cheap and yummy. About a good 10 mins walk to the train station, but it's a pleasant walk. Or there are buses near by that take you everywhere. Thank you guys for everything. Will definatly come and stay again!

Very nice and clean hotel.we enjoied our stay in Florence!Position was okay, but we have a little problem to find it without navigation, because a lot of one way roads. A very kind and very helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again when we come to Florence.

We really enjoyed our stay-it was clean, cool, welcoming and we liked the fact that breakfast was provided in the room! There was a kettle, tea and coffee, milk, "toast" and cakes etc so you were not under pressure to be up at a certain time. Our only slight problem was actually finding the hotel- it was a floor of a lovely building-as seems to be common in Italian cities-and we had to ask several people for help to find it-we even asked the little shop next door as we hadn't seen the sign! But once found, we were really pleased. Florence is a stunning city!

We stayed in Room 4. The bathroom looks newly refurbished so it was very clean and large. Everything was provided including a hairdryer, large kettle, free wifi and a large bottle of mineral water every day. The night watchman was very sweet - when he found out that we didn't have time for breakfast in the morning, he pulled out a whole tray of goodies for us to have in our room. On the second day, we were served breakfast in our room, with croissants, hot coffee and warm milk. There isn't anything to do near the property but it's a 15-20 minute walk to the train station or a quick bus ride into town. Security is very good, with multiple doors to get through. They were also very helpful in allowing us to leave our bags after checking out in the morning, saving us quite a bit of money on left luggage at the train station instead. For the staff, A++! We would definitely stay here again when we come to Florence.

We had a wonderful time here. Francesco was very helpful so please take his advice! There is an excellent neighborhood restaurant that he recommends (in the Piazza San Jacopino) next to the b&b that is cheap and delicious!! We went there twice in one day! The hotel was on the first floor, which was convenient. The housekeeper is amazing and organized/cleaned the entire room. They were very accommodating. We were leaving early the next day before breakfast was served so they left our breakfast in our room the night before so that we could eat and leave. The rooms were darker than I imagined and the photographs seemed to be taken a while ago. It was nice though to have our own private bathroom (which was very large and had a towel warmer!). The hotel is located in the middle of a busy intersection so it could get pretty noisy in the morning during rush hour but we're young and had no problems sleeping through it. We would stay here again and would visit that excellent restaurant every day of our stay!

Very friendly hotelier. Gave us lots of advice about things to see and do (walks etc in Florence). Room was very clean. It was handy to be able to use the internet too. A short walk from the city centre.

We liked this small pensione. Its true, the street noise is a problem (in this area, Florence never sleeps! and the major roads hum with motos and cars non stop, so bring earplugs). However, the service is excellent. I contacted the hotel by email a day before asking for museum reservations because I couldn't get them online, and all was in order on my arrival. I had bookings on the days and times I requested, no charge! The rooms are large, clean, and tasteful and the beds were excellent quality, not old and saggy like some. Security is good. Breakfast is continental and plentiful by Florence B&B standards in this price range. Next trip to Florence will bring me back here. I just hope they invest in new windows to cut the noise!

Although it was on a busy road when one closes the shutters it is not to bad. We were made to feel very welcome and transport systems were explained to us. The owner was very helpfull in guiding us to great places to visit throught Italy and took time to make us feel comfortable. I will go back without hesitation

This a great b+b. A great value, and a very nice , clean, and spacious place. It is a bit far from the action, being about 15 minutes walk from the train station, in the opposite direction of Central Florence, but that is why it is such a great value. The owner is S U P E R ! Helped us with an emergency - He actually took us to the Hospital and sat with us until 2am to interpret for us. I can't say enough about how great this people are who run this B+B. The only down side is the location, which isn't so bad if you are prepared for it. Tee bus runs right by the place the the owner will give great directions about using the bus and finding the place.

The hotel seems to be totally mis-categorized by Venere.com as a Bed and Breakfast. This was more like one of the economy/cheap motels found in the US. The motel is close to the station however a little far from the Florence City center. The reception staff was missing for most of our stay and our cleaning maid informed us that the "coffee/tea sachets" and the hot water flask were our "breakfast". Our room was right next to the reception on one side and the street on the other - both leading to a lot of noise. To be fair - the hotel was fairly neat and clean for the price - however doesn't deserve the glowing reviews as a Bed and Breakfast as it did on Venere.com. I think Venere.com needs to list it as a motel rather than a B&B

Simply superb! only minor drawbacks: 1.Should clarify/simplify the direction from SMN train station 2. was too keen on implementing "quitness" -- even when there was sound due to walking in wooden floor, concern was expressed

An old italian house. Clean rooms and very friendly and helpfull service! Not to expensive and not to far from the center. Internet to use for all clients. Nice restaurant close by (Jacopino) with only italians, no tourists, good italian food for a very good price.

The welcoming was great, friendly people, can't beat the location. But there has to be better directions for the Italian-language impaired as how to find it from the train station. The Map as supplied by Venere was not helpful. If you ask the address at the train station, you will be given the wrong information.

This is a very nice place to stay, if you want to know Florence. Is not that far from the center, and as a lot of transportation nearby, including the railway station, that allows you to catch the train and go to other places nearby (Venice, Pisa, Milan, etc). The employees are very nice, the place is clean and for the price, it's maybe the best offer in Florence!! RECOMENDED!!!

We had a nice stay and they were very accommodating. The staff was also very nice. The only down side was that were we stayed, supplies were kept and the staff had to go back in forth early in the morning, there was no privacy when going to bathroom.

I'm not sure if our comments are going to be representative because we arrived after having lost our credit card due to a theft in Bologna. We were a bit at odds until Francesco our English-speaking host made us comfortable. He was most helpful. One feature of the premises which was very helpful to us was the unlimited use of the computer. That got us up-to-date on USA news and permitted us to send notes to relatives at home. Francesco told us of intended upgrades to try to block out traffic noise which is a problem during the day. We were concerned about this upon arrival, but Francesco was correct in noting that the traffic noise was not a problem at night. Howard Leroy Davis, USA

The stay at Soggiorno Madrid was overall excellent. The only issue I could find was that the directions were a bit vague but we got through that. Room was clean and well-kept. Staff very friendly and attentive when needed. We got a good bit of information on how to get around and that made everything even more positive. In the end, it served its purpose more than adequately and I would recommend it to my friends.

You never mention on the hotel review that it was situated on a carrefour, with a traffic started from 6'00 am to 24'00. No chance to opened the window, and no chance for a quiet nigh to sleep. the place was more like a bed and breakfast witout breakfast than a hotel. the owner transform his appartement into a kind of hotel!!! will never go back and recommand to someone else.

The accommodations were very nice, spacious and clean. We chose this place as we were leaving from the airport the next day and wanted somewhere close. The bus into the town center was a block away and very easy to catch. The manager was great. She made reservations for us at the Ufizzi gallery and helped with various details. Her English was good and she was very accommodating. It was very nice to have access to a computer for free. We would stay again.

Habitación moderna y espaciosa. Algo de ruido exterior. La calles de al lado es estrecha pero frecuentada por coches. La encargada es muy amable. Déjate aconsejar por ella para ir a comer. Para ser Italia buena relación calidad-precio.

Good clean little hostel. Beware that there is a 9pm last check-in policy that Venere doesn't make you aware of in the reservation confirmation. We were "welcomed" by a VERY VERY VERY angry Italian lady, she yelled at us for about 20 min because we got there after 9pm. Other than this incredibly uncomfortable check-in the stay was good.

Although rated as 2 stars, the location and the rooms of the hotel was excellent for the price. No breakfast or front desk at night. But who really needs that in Florence? The hotel is located in a characteristic building near a main road. Walkable distance to all major attractions.

Although the hotel is small, the rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, especially the bathrooms, they look newly renovated. The hotel located in a convenient area which is only 20-30 minutes walk to the main train station, and one fantastic thing is it provides free access to internet. I would like to say thank you to the lady works in the hotel, she is nice enough to give us the welcome drink on our day of arrival. The only thing that disappointed me is the hotel is on the 1st floor of a old building and adjacent to the main street which is very noisy during the day. I would like to stay at this hotel again and recommend to my friends when they go to Florence.
