We stayed there for only two nights. Location is the best, really close to everything and it's only 5 mins away from train station. Very small hotel room. Good location for budget travellers for 1-2 days. Coffee and croissant are served in a cafe accross the street. Bathrooms are very outdated and very small, you can't even fit in the shower.

Located in the very center of Florence, the hotel is small but comfortable. ADSL freely available; the rooms looking onto the street are noisy - the windows have double glasses so everything is ok but in summer. Recommended!

2 double rooms for 2 nights (30 EUR per person/night). *** Terrible service and rooms. They have one big apartment with 7-8 rooms. Each room is with small toilet/shower corner. No air conditioner. TV is not working. *** The only excellent thing is location. *** The price should be 20-23 EUR (incl. advantage of the location, without it - 15 EUR maximum)

The location is great, and the view from the terrace is spectacular. If noise bothers you (it doesn't bother us), ask for a room NOT on the street. The staff was very nice but speaks very limited English. This is a good place for seasoned travelers looking for a clean and not-too-costly hotel because after the check-in, we never saw any staff at all. We would probably stay again because of the price and location.

On busy street. Once you open the window to get fresh air you hear cars, traffic and people all night long. Easy walking access to train station and sites. Dinner suggestions would be ZaZa's in the Mercato. We ate there twice. One of the few places that had a ceiling fan in the room, which was pleasant.

The hotel stay in La Cupola was one of the worst I have ever had. There was a big problem entering the hotel, as nobody was there. Nobody is ever there. I am interested why there is even a small desk called reception. As you enter the room and walk up the 2 floors without an elevator you are welcomed by an awful smell and are invited to call a number on a given fix telephone to agree on room number and keys. Luckily I was ringing all bells in the house, so a private owner was helping me out to even enter the room in the B&B.. All in all I hope that I will not be experiencing such terrible circumstances in the future.

Lovely roof top terrace, great location, rooms small and a little dark, which was reflected by the price we paid. The staff were friendly, and breakfast in the cafe opposite worked well ,with lovely owner. We would use again.

This room is very well situated in Firenze. Very near from the Duomo. But so, the street is very noisy, ans as it was vey hot and there is no clim, it was a little hard to sleep. The shower was very little and very old. But the terrace could be very nice (if you stay a little to use it) and a surprise was waiting for us at our arrival : a very good bottle of Chianti wine was offered.

A place to be stay in Florence!!! super price/quality. 3 star service. Location...perfect! In the corner of Tornabuoni...100 mtr to Duome! It has an amazing huge terrace (I saw it on google map too:-) where drink wine with Duome panorama (romantic). All rooms are well fornished and quite. The owner Antonio offered me a bottle of wine as welcome and had it on the terrace...amazing atmosphere. What to say I will come back again. per viaggiatori italiani come me....lo consiglio vivamente....

The hotel is located in the heart of Firenze, you can see the Duomo from the window. The Lady from the staff didn't speak a word in english bur she was very nice and tried to be as helpfull as can be. The towels in Firenze are actualy white sheets and the shower was extremly small. It was a nightmare to arrive with a car though they have a parking lot nearby for 24 euros for 24 hours. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor, no elevator. The breakfast is not served in the hotel but near by and it is very poor (Croissant, coffe, juice).

This is a bad place - don't go here. The lights were 7 watts and so low we could not read by them. The bus lines run all around the building making it very noisy. The toilet smelled like septic fumes. The shower leaked. We paid for a second night but changed out mind after a horrible first night and the manager would not refund payment. It was the low point of our visit in Italy.

I was given a quote of 78.00 euro per night for 3 nights by venere for the Soggiorno La Cupola double room. I was charged 91.0 euro per night upon arrival. We were tired after traveling overseas and decided to stay rather than search for a hotel so late in the afternoon. The hotel said the 78.00 euro was just for reserving and then proceeded to tell us we had to pay cash because their credit card machine was broken. At that time, I was so frustrated and wouldn't recommend this hotel for others.

Our first time in Florence. Room adequate though small and rather dark. Very noisy when window open due to location. Excellent roof terrace with fantastic view over rooftops to duomo, tower and cupola etc (as long as you don't mind the stairs to get there!) We were unable to pay by credit card as they claimed their machine was not working which gave us a slight cash flow problem. Some restaurants claimed the same problem....

Great view and great terrace!!!!!!! The front desk didn't want to give the promised bottle of wine, but did when asked for it. It was the perfect place to stay with friends (we took over 3 of the rooms). The B&B only has 6 rooms so you feel like you own the place. There is no elevator, so you must climb the steps (not a long haul though). Breakfast is not in the B&B itself. You must go across the street, but the breakfast is very good. Included croissant, coffee and juice. The location is prime. Very close to the train station and the duomo. The staff does not speak English, so it was a bit tough to communicate. Overall, enjoyed the stay and would recommend.

Excellent location, very close to railway station, but it was hard to find this place. Noone explained us a bout terrace on top of the building. Thanks to other travellers who left this info, we had a lovely dinner one evening there. Before coming to Florence a day earlier we e-mailed the owner, but he never replied, it was also hard to catch him on the phone, we also never met him. we got the biggest room with the view, that was good. The lady greeted us was very friendly, though didnt speak English at all. This place is not Bed&Breakfast. We had to go to another bar cross the road to get a terrible breakfast we ever had: nice coffee, croissant, juice - basicaly 3 items, no jam, butter or chocolate. I think 110 Euros is a little bit expensive for the room and no breakfast. I wouldnt stay in this place next time, try to find something better.

Soggiorno La Cupola was the breath of fresh air we needed while travelling in Europe. Of all the places we stayed, nothing compared to this wonderful B & B. It was a home away from home. There is a rooftop balcony that stares right at the Duomo! And when you get your free bottle of red wine, waste no time in going up there to drink it. The location is all you can ask for: 5 min walk from the main train station, 5 min walk from the Duomo, right in the heart of downtown Florence. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We are looking forward to the next visit to both Florence and Soggiorno La Cupola. Don't hesitate when booking this room! Thank you Antonio!

There was confusion with our registration upon check-in, which was sorted out with the housekeeper (speaks only Italian). The owner provided us with a bottle of wine - nice touch, thank you. The rooftop balcony has an excellent view. The convenient location of this B&B also boosts my rating higher. The bathroom was not enjoyable. Somewhat clean, but it was built into a bedroom as an afterthought. The shower was tiny and rusting around the edges - not very pleasant. The housekeeper knocked on our door 15 minutes before departure time with cleaning equipment in tow, and basically rushed us out. We did not bother with breakfast, which was being served at a nearby bar/cafe. The noise level was regular considering the B&B is located on the main street. Unfortunately, the townhouse (?) unit immediately next door was undergoing facade improvement, so a crew of construction workers hammered on the exterior walls during the night. There is a problem with one of the locks. We almost thought we were locked out, but we jiggled the key around for a few minutes while twisting the door knob and it eventually worked. Other travellers obviously had this problem as well, as they also banged on the front door and jingled their keys to try to get in.

Overall was a nice place to stay - very cheap considering it is a 2min walk to the Duomo (Main Cathedral). Room was clean although the 'bathroom' was a bit mouldy smelling! It is at teh heart of the city. Thats the only thing we liked. Rooms are dark and not welcoming. Also, to reach the rooms, you have to climb a number of stairs, so, it is really difficult for old people and family travelling with kids. I dont remember reading any such information on the site. No English speaking staff. This is was the worst stay we had in our whole trip in italy. I will definitely won't come back and wont recommend it. Also, you won't even get some drinking water in teh property. So, if you are travelling with small kids, it is very difficult.

We were on vacation with Jennifer's two adult sons. We stayed two nights and wished we could stay longer. The city and the surrounding Tuscany area was astoundingly beautiful and so historic. The manager of La Cupola was most gracious, presenting us with two bottles of wine, which we happily drank on the rooftop terrace. We LOVED the rooftop terrace. The hotel is a very short distance from The Santa Maria Novella train station, and is next to practically everything in Florence. We walked everywhere, no need for a vehicle. The only wish we had was for a better map, so we could have found the street for the hotel more easily. The train station has many streets radiating from it and around it. Since there is no elevator, and the rooms are up three flights of stairs, one should consider that.

The quadrable room was very tiny, with old and tiny bath. The noise from the street was terrible during all the night! No air conditioning. The breakfast in a caffe at the corner included coffe and cruassons probably from yestarday. The owner thinks that he can raise the price for a nice view of the Duomo from the window. There is no any corresponding between the service and the price. And in the distance of 5 meter, at the same street, we have found much better hotel for the cheaper price!

For the price the position was fabulous within walking distance to many places tourists like to visit.Room very small and up lots of stairs and never saw anyone who could help.

Those were great two days in Florence! The B&B is rather easy to found, is very close to the railway station and Duomo. Thanks to a wonderful view we had the best room, though an old-fashioned. Enjoyed nice welcoming and service. Thank you for marvellous holiday!

The website only shows one room, we did not get that room. Our room was smaller than the room shown but adequate. The location was excellent, halfway between the Duomo and the rail station SMN. The bathroom was a pre-fabricated box in the corner of the room; it had the smallest shower I have ever used. While there were double windows they were not sufficient to stop all the noise. There was not a lot of noise but it was noticeable. The three flights of stairs can be a little tough when carrying luggage. I paid 75 euro a night. For that price a clean room in a good location in Florence is a bargain. The Management was friendly and pointed out that there was a common bathroom available that was much larger than the one in my room.

We was only one night in Florence, but it was nice. The city is wonderfull and his big church is incredible. The room of La cupola is very quiet and we could rest well.

Although the room was small it felt cozy. Only a few minutes from the station and the price for the room was cheap. Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing and the owner didn't speak a word of English. It would be a good stay if you're passing through Italy and staying in Florence for a couple of days.

This B&B was cozy and very clean. The owner and the staff very helpful. The room where we stayed at was very very small but clean and got a little discount for it. We saw the other rooms and were not the big. The location is great! just walking distance from the termini and the Duomo and other areas. The days we were there it was rainy so we only when up on the terrance to enjoy the view and take some pict. I love this place I'll definately again.

I was with my sister. We went to Florence in December and we suffered a lot for the cold temperature of the room! Apart from this and the very tiny bathroom, everything was perfect: the room was nice, the location simply too perfect and the view from the terrace wanderful.

Antonio, the owner, was very pleasant. He gave us a bottle of wine and suggested we go up to the roof to enjoy it. The roof has a good view of the Duomo.

This was a great place to stay in Florence... Fantastic location, friendly and competent host, comfortable bed at a good price. The cafe around the corner served our cafe in the morning and we found an nice internet point on the next street. The lighting in the rooms is poor and the pay telephone in the lobby was broken but everything else was wonderful.

I loved staying at this B&B. The first two nights we stayed in a pretty small little room, with just two twin beds pushed together, a closet, and a very tiny bathroom, with a window that opened into the street. The room was quaint and we never had any noise problems from the street below. On the third night, the room with the view of the Duomo and the street leading to it was available, so he allowed us to stay in that much, much larger room at the same rate, which was a lovely treat. The rooftop terrace made for an extremely romantic evening with a bottle of wine, and I would recommend everyone hang out there after a fun night out, to rewind and get some perspective. I would definitely recommend this hotel for it's great location, relatively quiet accomodations (any place in Italy will have pretty thin walls and be adjacent to an alleyway), and a great value. Some of the best money I spent on my trip to Italy.

The first night we were in the spacious corner room with the circular window looking up the street towards the Duomo. This is the one in the pictures. This has a comfortable bed. The other three nights we were in a much smaller room next door with a very uncomfortable bed and a bathroom in need of repair. This spoilt our stay there even though the staff were extremely helpful at trying to help make our stay. Stay if you can spend the time in the big room, look elsewhere if not. The hotel is very well paced near the station and all the sights. A tip for Florence is do not ever think of eating from the tourist menu in any restaurants. The food might have Italian names but that is where the resemblance ends.

The location was perfect - just down the street from the Duomo. The breakfast was a little disappointing - you get a pass to a cafe around the corner and get just a coffee and pastry. My room had a window looking out over the street but even with lots of traffic, it was still very quiet. There's not really any common area so it's better if you're just looking for a room and place to keep your stuff while you tour Florence. The roof-top terrace does have a beautiful view of Florence and the Duomo.

Antonio (the landlord) was really kind to us in the welcoming and during our whole stay. We received a bottle of wine (Rosso Rubino di Toscana) as a welcome drink. Nice isn't it? The wiev from the terrace is absolutely spectacular. On the last day we could leave our luggage at the reception, which was a great help to us as we left late in the evening. We liked it very much and if we return to Florence we will definitely stay here.

I would really recommend this place highly. The goods are strategic location near the duomo and train station, very nice and kind manager, very very best service provided, the room and bathroom was clean but really tiny... =) You will find a lot of good unexpected surprises over there. The bads are very noisy at nite fr the street and it is on the third floor of the building and no lift or escalator whatsoever. The building is old but acceptable since it is clean inside. So as long as you dont mind w the bads... then You are having the best place hotel in Florence w a decent price for such good service.

Great place to stay, basic rooms but comfortable, small bathroom but all you need, there is a large bathroom shared by all if you really needed room. Those of a larger disposition may struggle to fit in the small shower cubicle. Nice welcoming with a nice bottle of wine, and and an offer to buy it cheap at reception. Not for the visitor who requires 24hr attention. The view from the terrace was spectacular. Price was great for location, would definitely recommend. There are stairs as in all of Italy so not for elderly or disabled. Was initially a bit tricky to find due to the dual street numbering system in Italy, 1 for business and 1 for private. Breakfast was basic but that is how they do it in Italy....when in Rome!

The location is very convenient to the water taxis on the Grand Canal. The owners Allan and Laura are very nice and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you do not mind a shared bathroom, this is a very nice place to stay. Good value and an excellent location. The breakfasts are served in your room and are very adequate. In addition to the continental breakfast of coffee, juice, and a variety of sweet breads and biscuits, Allan serves you a really good grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

The Bed and Breakfast was great. It was close to the train station and the Duomo. Everything was close by. The views from the terrace on top were wonderful. Antonio's gift of a bottle of wine added to the experience. It is up two flights of steps, but that was clearly stated in the information online. We were worried that it would be noisy at night. Once the windows and shutters were closed, you didn't hear a sound. The breakfast was typically Italian and the little cafe was nice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the B&B. The view from the roof was breath taking in the day and night. The complementery bottle of wine was wonderful to take up to the roof in the evening to enjoy the view of the town. We came with our children and stayed in the corner room with half circle window that opened and or 14 year old love just look and listening to the world around her. Thanks for an awesome and memorable time in Florence. We can't wait to come back again in the future.

This was a very nice place, located halfway between the train station and Il Duomo. The clerk, Antonio, was very welcoming, and he even gave my wife and I a bottle of red wine. It was unbearably hot in Florence during our stay, hitting 40 celsius (105 Fahrenheit), which made our room hot too, despite the fan. If we were to go back here, we would opt for the common-area bathroom, as our in-room bathroom made the room even hotter. Otherwise, it was a very nice place and we were quite happy with it. The baclony had an excellent view of the cathedral and the surrounding countryside.

Antonio was quite nice and helped in settling in. The location is awesome. We got a room with a view to the Duomo. A little small, but i guess this is what to expect with a B&B. The breakfast is a croissant and a coffee at a bar nearby. Nothing fancy, but as expected. Location is excellent. Close to railway station and very practical. I would recommend this to all. One point to watch: 2 flights of stairs to reach the hotel. So, if you are old / cant walk, i would not recommend as there is no elevator.

We absolutely loved staying at Soggiorno La Cupola. It was in such a central location, close to the train station, close to all the sights we wanted to see, and right on a main street. One of our favourite parts was going to the little bar, close the the B & B, for breakfast.

Antonio was very nice and welcoming. The terrace and the bottle of wine was also a nice touch. The rooms were dusty, the bathrooms very small and inconvenient and the flight of stairs was a chore. The location was good and close to main attractions. It was reasonably priced. I would look around the next time for a more comfortable, cleaner place even if the location wasn't as central. Florence can be walked from any location.

Nice people, great view of Cuppola from roof. Breakfast is off site. No one spoke English. Really, no one at all. It was pretty funny. No help getting what I needed from staff ie: paper towels, extra towels. Still, it is well located, a few flights walk up and clean. Nice staff, only no help with bookings due to language barrier. I blame my American upbringing. One language only.
