The location overlooking the Baptistry and the Duomo was fantastic. Very welcoming and helpful. Room including the beds was very comfortable. Good breakfast including hard boiled egg, muffin, packet croissant and 'toast' in the room was excellent but the coffee was just passable. The three long flights of stairs were a challenge when carrying luggage.

Unfortunately, we were both ill with a stomach virus during our brief stay at Soggiorne Battistero. That being said, Kelly was an AWESOME host! She was helpful with suggestion from the Farmacia and was very accommodating. The rooms are spotless and nice. The room was perfect for us. When you open up the window, you are LITERALLY across from the Baptistery building! Breakfast was awesome...nice bread products, coffee or tea, juice, and hard-boiled eggs (which was perfect for us during our stay!). I think it's worth mentioning that the B&B is on the 5th (?) floor of the building with no elevator, so be prepared. We were ill and able to make the climb with 2 suitcases, so I really would not let this be a deterrent from staying at this facility. I would highly recommend the Soggiorne Battistero to anyone who is traveling to Florence and wants to be in the heart of the city!

Excellent location, clean, comfortable. Good service, nice simple breakfast. No internet but pretty good value for money for a single room.

After much internet searching we found this hotel to be precisely what we were looking for, and we were not disappointed! Fabulous location. We enjoyed listening to the revelers around the Duomo. It was newly remodeled and decorated and had very comfortable beds. The couple who own the hotel were very personable and delightful to work with. And Kelly...an American eliminates any language difficulties. Breakfast was served in our room at our convenience. Just be prepared to walk up 4 flights of stairs. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The best. Right in the main square of Firenze. Beautiful view. Great big room with two beds and just wonderful host and hostess. The breakfast---including orange juice and freshly baked muffins---outstanding. The nicest people in the world with accommodations to match. I would stay there again in a second.

Great room, great location, great hosts, great city! We loved our visit! Only drawback is no elevator, but it didn't bother us.

The view of the bapistry and square are unbelievable. Well worth a 3 floor walk up. Very conveniently located to walk to main museums.

This is a lovely place to stay, with a brilliant central location which does literally overlook the Baptistry. The couple who run it are charming and helpful.

The place: it's located right next to the Duomo and Battistero. The building looks a bit creepy, but the inside of the hotel-apartment looks better. There are 3 floors to climb without an elevator. The room: our room was without a view to the square, but large and quiet. There was no air conditioning - only a ceiling fan. Note that you're not allowed to do any laundry in the room, or to hand anything from the windows that face the square. Service: Kelly is very nice and also knowledgable about Firenze, including driving directions to anywhere. Don't expect a fancy breakfast: everything is out of a plastic bag - even the slices of bread. In summary - an ok place.

We were very pleased with our accommodations in Florence. The room was extremely well located (right beside the Baptistery of the Duomo), very clean, and within a ten minute walk of the train station. There was a good deal of noise outside the Duomo on the Saturday and Sunday nights, but this was the only negative of our stay.

The Battistero has a great location right in the centre of Florence, with a fantastic view of the Baptistery from your window. The room was not luxurious, but it was spacious and comfortable. The only drawback was the noise from all the people down on the square in front of the Baptistery and duomo.

The place should easily be found. It is exactly facing the Baptistery. But we did take some time to find it due to the misunderstanding to the map provided on this website. The rooms and the facility are neat and nice. The breadfast is enough for girls, but for boys..... And in general, I will recommend this place to my friends.

For this price it is hard to find this kind of bargain. It was also very nice to have an American (kelly) to ask questions of at times. The setting is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't have asked for any better base for seeing the city of florence (firenze).

The B & B was very cute. This was part of the couple's home. I believe it was on the third floor of the building, so stairs are required. I stayed in a single room. It was a small room, but adequate. They were very friendly and easy to work with. One of the owners spoke English quite well, as this was her first language. That certainly made things easier, even though I took a quick Italian class. The lobby area, had a lot of tourist information in addition to other specific recommendations by the proprietors. They will even book tours and such for you if would like. The Baptistery (near the Duomo) was directly across the street from my room, I was that close. This was a great location, very central to everything. You could hear some street activity in the evening, so it depends on how you sleep whether it would bother you. I did not have any problems, but not all of the rooms face the Baptistery so you might not have a problem at all. The room also had a phone it it, which was particularly convenient. Not all of the other places I stayed had a phone in the room. They serve breakfast in your room, which consisted of a boiled egg, toast, croissant, jams, and a good size portion of juice and coffee (not just 1 cup!). This was a good size breakfast, particularly for the Italians. This was my first breakfast with a hotel or b & b, and subsequent one's were not this good. For comparison, others gave me one coffee and one croissant. The bathrooms were very clean. They look like they were just redone. Again not huge, but certainly adequate. The shower and toilet are not on top of each other, as I unfortunately experienced at a later hotel. The proprietors did have a cat and it appeared as though at least one of them smoked. I am quite allergic to cats and not thrilled with smokers, but did not have a problem there. I wouldn't have minded knowing these two pieces of information though. I would certainly recommend this place to others. I e

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Battistero. It made our first visit to Italy truly memorable! Our hosts, Luca & Kelly were very nice and hospitable. The hotel was located in the middle of all of the sites, which we walked to daily. We definitely recommend this hotel and plan on returning upon our next visit.

How can you beat the view we had from the window of our room right onto this beautiful cathedral and the Piazza Duomo. Truly a memorable stay because of the location. Noise is not a problem if you love waking up to the sound of the cathedral bells as I did!

I absolutely cannot wait to stay here again. It was all perfect, except the croissants at breakfast were awful, but that doesn't count. It was the only place where I had been served an egg, so it made up for it. The room was perfect, the staff very friendly, and I will make a reservation for next May very soon. :-)
