Very nice B&B, the service people are extremely nice and welcoming, very helpful also. Nice location. Spacious room, we actually stayed in a one-bed room apartment with a very large living room and kitchen. Would definitely live there again if go back to Florence.

I stayed at Il Villino with my husband for 3 days at the end of our Italian holiday and it was great. Our double room was spacious and clean, with a/c, a mini-bar, tv,hairdryer and nice view of the domo. The location is superb- 10 mins max to the domo and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends.

This is a gem in Florence. I lodged my parents here for my wedding and they were looked after at every stage. Sergio and Roberto made their stay very special. The decor is beautiful, especially the breakfast garden. I stayed over with my sister the night before my wedding and I enjoyed the clean, airy, comfortable room. The croissants were a little burned but this was a small price to pay for a superb location and a superb accommodation!

This is a delightful accommodation in an excellent location - fairly central. The rooms are spotless, the bedrooms and communal areas lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. In addition, we were offered free use of a computer with internet access.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful and keen to make sure we had what we needed. We were delighted to have a nice 1st floor room with a pretty balcony/terrace overlooking the courtyard. The sound of voices did travel from the room above us, but wasn't intrusive. An anti-mozzie device was fitted immediately on request (if there is a mosquito anywhere within miles, it will find me, whilst completely avoiding my husband). The location was excellent for the sights of Florence and convenient for a good range of food shops and eating places, whilst being tucked away in a quiet residential location. We enjoyed the 2 recommended local restaurants. I found Il Villino very relaxing with a lovely home from home atmosphere. and thought it much better value in an expensive city than a flashier hotel.

Good location, close to all main museums, galleries & church's but up a quiet side street. Easy walking distance from main station (15-20 mins). Continetal breakfast is plentiful. Excellent service at all times.

Sergio and his family provided excellent service with a personal touch. My room was clean and well appointed, if a bit snug. The property is close to the historic center, but not so close that its noisy. I would happily return to Il Villino.

It was difficult to find (we were driving) but Sergio had his brother come out on his bicycle and lead us the correct way to our destination. Absolutely wonderful hospitality. Excellent breakfast. My daughter & son-in -law had a room across from me on the top floor with a splendid view of the Duomo. Great location.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Florence and this B&B is no exception. The owners are such kind and sincere people and the accommodations were perfect. There are probably a few better located properties but they would not be as quiet so the extra 2-3 minutes walk is well worth it!

Nice property within walking distance to all the historical sites in Florence. They gave us good recommendations for dinner that were close by and reasonably priced.

Very comfortable, excellent modern bathroom, extremely helpful staff, location is ideal - just a 5-minute walk to the Duomo.

The proprietors, Sergio and Elizabeth, were very friendly and made everyone in our party feel that we were visiting a home rather than a hotel. The included breakfast was ample and the breakfast room and courtyard were very pleasant places to have breakfast and enjoy wine and cheese in the afternoon. The hotel is a lovely building in a very convenient location within a 10 minute walk of the Duomo. The rooms have refrigerators stock with drinks at additional cost, but guests can purchase their own beverages at markets and leave them in the refrigerator. Our party included my wife and two sons and daughter-in-law. We all enjoyed our stay and recommend Il Villino without hesitation.

While this property is lovely and full of extra perks that make it special, the kindness and warmth of the hosts make it unique in all our travels. When I mistakenly booked us for 3 nights rather than 4, Sergio kindly took over and found us a place for the 4th night at an agritourismo place outside Florence. Then he insisted on driving us there, introduced us to the hostess and carried our luggage upstairs. He was wonderful and we will remember this stay fondly forever. He and Elizabet run an excellent hotel.

Very pleasant place to stay. We easily walked everywhere to all major attractions and eating establishments. We were celebrating our 46th Wedding Anniversary and Il Villino made it so special for us. Many thanks to Sergio and Elizabeth who got up early on our day of departure, packed up a breakfast for us, rang for a taxi and waved us off - all at 6.30am. Fantastico!

We were delighted with Il Villino. It was very close to the centre of Florence, yet a quiet street near the university. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and welcoming and the room and bathroom were a good size -we did have a mosquito one night, which may not be good in summer!Breakfast was quite substantial and you could help yourself to as much as you liked. Most rooms are up quite steep stairs and there are no lifts, but the staff were happy to help with luggage. It ws a very secure hotel with a large wooden electronic door off the street and a further iron gate inside -in fact you have to look hard to see it from the street as it is just called 'Residenzia" not 'Hotel'. Free internet was a bonus.

This is my second visit to Florence and my second stay at this wonderful hotel. My experience at the hotel was the same as the first, wonderful. The staff, Sergio and Elizabeth were the best, my room was charming, spacious and comfortable. I will always stay at Residenza Il Villino.

We would definitely stay at Residenza Il Villino again. Sergio was very gracious and accomodating. He recommended great restaurants close to the bed and breakfast. We had a great view of the courtyard from our room. The room was extremely clean and very quiet.

What a hidden treasure! My stay at Rezidenza Il Villino was absolutely wonderfull! Sergio and Elizabeth were the kindest, most helpful people you could ask for in hosts. The hotel was very pretty and quaint. My room was very comfortable, immacultately clean and very pretty. The bathroom and shower were a good size. As a woman alone I felt very safe in the neighbourhood walking to resturants or back to the hotel at night. The security of the hotel was also very good. The hotel was only about a ten - fifteen minute to the Duomo and centre of town with a charming resturant very close by if you were too tired at the end of the day to venture out too far for dinner. The only draw back - and I put this to all of Europe - is what in the world does Europe have against window screens? While there were security screens on the windows there were no screens to keep out the mosquitos. From the time I got to Anzio (in the south of Italy) to the time I left Italy from Firenze I recieved - and I kid you not - 22 mosquito bites. Its a good thing I left when I did or I would have been needing a blood transfusion! Despite the mosquitos I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when I reture to Firenze, but next time I will definately take some mosquito repellent with me!

Outstanding. The room we had was large with a view of the Duomo. Sergio and Elizabeth were very warm and helpful. We had to leave very early the day of our departure and Sergio came in an hour earlier than normal just to be sure our cab arrived. Suggestions for dining were very good - ate in places frequented by locals not tourists - excellent food at very fair prices. We enjoyed the location it is in more of a residential section of Florence, yet a very short walk to all of the sights - had a very different (better) feel than when we had stayed in Rome right next to the Pantheon. Give them a try you will not be disappointed

We stayed at this B&B in mid-October 2005. Sergio, and his wife, Elizabeth, were very helpful and gracious hosts. Excellent location within just a couple blocks of the Accademia (Statue of David), and the Duomo. Easy walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace, etc. Still it was the superb service by our hosts that made this definitely the place we'd stay the next time we visit Florence. Added appeal included the extremely comfortable king-size bed, a view overlooking the courtyard, and a wonderful breakfast. Another plus was access to free, high-speed, internet!

Clean, quiet and small. Just what we wanted on a two night stay in Florence at a reasonable price. In fact, we would prefer to stay here than at a high priced hotel. There are only 6 rooms and 2 appartments so book early. The breakfast (juice, coffee, bread, etc.) is simple but it sufficient to start the day on a tour of Florence. The extremely pleasant staff could not have done any more for us. Good restaurant recommendations by them at not overly expensive prices for Italy (Try the Semolina restaurant, although a little noisy it was just what we wanted). We will certainly return to Residenza Il Villino

I am reluctant to share this information with you, for the purely selfish reason that if too many people get to hear about how wonderful Il Villino is it will always be fully booked! You have probably read many reviews stating how wonderful places are, and doubted if the remarks could possibly be true, because usually if things sound too good to be true they usually are. Well believe me if you are going to Florence then the only place to stay is at Il Villino! Say "Hello" to Sergio and Elizabeth from us, we cannot thank them enough for our wonderful stay with them. To say everything was excellent simply does not do it justice. Go and see for yourself and I bet you'll write a similar review after your stay too!

This property is exactly as shown on the website. Our room, on third floor had beautiful views of the Cathedral and the courtyard. Sergio is a wonderful host and always happy to help and advise. He recommends good places to eat! Many places of interest are within easy walking distance. If we return to Florence we will definitely stay here!

We enjoyed our stay at Residenza Il Villino very much. Sergio's friendly welcome led us to our room which looked onto the courtyard. The room was well furnished and comfortable. The courtyard was a very pleasant place to unwind and talk over the days events with a glass of wine from Sergio's cellar. The breakfast was ample and varied. The rooms were quiet though they did transmit steps of the guests above us. Sergio was very helpful in making dinner reservations for us. We were within walking distance of the major sites. We would definitely stay here again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Il Villino, although we were rather privileged with room location and price as it was low season. Our room was on the 2nd floor, and had a open balcony area which looked out onto an internal courtyard. There was no noise at all from the busy traffic on the road side. The Residence was clean and very comfortable, and Sergio and his wife were friendly and helpful without being at all overbearing. I wholly recommend staying here - it is well worth that little bit extra over other places you may be considering.

Il Villino was excellent. Clean, spacious, and romantic rooms! Sergio, our host, was friendly, gracious, and very helpful. The breakfast was tasty, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese and meat, hot drinks, and served in the beautiful courtyard (on warm days.) All of the staff were accomodating, providing dining recommendations, umbrellas on a rainy afternoon, and great service. I wish we could have stayed longer!
