N4U Guest House - Florence

N4U Guest House was great! My friend and I had a double room that was huge by European standards. Our private bathroom was off-suite and very nice. If you're looking for an American-style room and bath this isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for a funky-cool, super-clean place to stay that's a short walk to/from the Duomo then I highly recommend N4U! The continental breakfast is worth the small price ($5E). But again, if you're looking for an US-style breakfast you'll be disappointed. The only reason I rated the quietness of room a '5' is because the noise from the contractors in the early morning was much more than I had expected. I expected a lot of street noise, but the dragging and banging by the paint and plaster guys was almost too much. I probably wouldn't have minded if I had known they were to arrive so early. Do not try to drive to N4U. It's situated on a pedestrian street that didn't show up on our Tom-Tom (GPS) [not N4U's fault]. The directions on the website are correct though; just don't expect to park anywhere near it. Lastly, I would most definitely stay at N4U again.

Anyone told me previously that the bathroom was down the corridor instead of in the room.

Unbeatable value for an excellent location. The manager was really welcoming and couldnt have been more helpful. Rooms were really fab and gorgeously decorated. Only downside no en-suite, but totally recommend it.

We stayed 1 night in this guest house and found it to be central to train station and tourist spots. Wish we could have stayed longer, good bed, clean linen. If you have car in the inner city ensure validation of ticket from local garage before leaving area. A restaurant not to be missed is "il Latini", phone for booking 055210916, 2 sittings per night - some of the best food we had in the 5 weeks of traveling thru Italy. Climb the stairs to the top of the Basilica for outstanding views of the city, visit the museums and statue of David, markets are great for leather, have lunch at the food market, catch a view of the city from the 3day pass on the open air bus - worthwhile - all these are easy walking from the Guest House.

The room was excellent but the outside was really noisy even at night. We opened the window because inside was really hot(there was the air conditioner but it was really noisy), then my children were attacked by mosquitos. The hotel was 3rd floor but there was no elevator. But overall the room was really nice and the price was cheap. Thank you.

I stayed at N4U for a weekend break in Florence. It is an Excellent Guest House. I throughly enjoyed my stay and have already recommeded it to my friends and relatives! The service was very welcoming and informative the best that I have received in a long time. The rooms were gorgeous and I can't wait to return there on my next stay in Florence. My Favourite place to eat was Sant'Agostino 23, Trattoria In Santo Spirito, 23r 50125. The service was impeccable and the food was gorgeous.

We really enjoyed the location of N4U. The little street that it was on was very cute. The horse and carriage rides would gallop below. The Duomo is very close along with restaurants and smaller museums (two across the street). Depending on the weather, it could get quite hot which would mean that the windows would have to be open (no central air).There was a nice breeze that came through but,noise on the street tends to ecko in from other parts of town.The red room had 13th century painting on the ceiling and 14th century chandelier.It was very unique.Everything was clean and even though the bathroom is not in the room, it is solely yours and just around the corner.It wasnt that big of a deal.And,a very nice,renivated bathroom i will say. Overall, we would stay again because of the nice location and uniqueness of the room.

N4U Guesthouse would be the perfect place to stay except that the rooms are very noisy. All of the rooms face a busy street so there was some atmospheric noise coming from outside, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was noise from within. The guesthouse has private baths for each guest that are located down the hall from their corresponding room. From inside my room, I could clearly hear everything happening in the hallway, the loud echo of every step, every word, the fumbling of the old fashioned keys in the locks, the opening of the sqeaky old doors. I could even here what was going on inside the bathrooms, and I was across the hall. The noise was so loud I had to open my window to the street to try and drown out the interior noise. This would be an absolutely lovely place to stay at a great value if they can work out their acoustics problem. It was well managed, welcoming, and well maintained.

We stayed 4 nights. The private bathroom down the hallway was a bit of a surprise, but in the long run, no great inconvenience. The hotel is on the 4th floor and there is no lift - again no great inconvenience - but you do need to be fit. The hotel is excellently located near all major attractions. A laundromat and supermarket (when you find it) are nearby. The room could only be described as spacious - it was big and there was plenty of room for three adults. Our welcome and booking in was very comprehensive.

I din´t enjoy my stay in this Guest house, is too much money that we paid for a poor service and a old building. It is incredible that they only change the bath towel only one time every five days!! We was in Firenze 4 days so they didn´t change towels.Rooms was noisily.This is my first bad experience for a Guest house.That´s a pity.
