Excellent location, close to a number of good restaurants, easy walking to sights. Rooms are up several flights of stairs. When we arrived we were told that their "credit card machine was not working so we would have to pay cash". It would be better if they stated at the web site that they don't take credit cards!

We were very pleased by the friendly service and the owners were very helpful. Location was perfect for all the sites.

We had a very pleasant stay at this Guesthouse. The owners (husband and wife) were very friendly and helpful. They helped us with parking in Florence (we were able to park on the street next to the guesthouse for all but one night and they give excellent directions to parking garage for other night). The room was clean and comfortable. it is located a bit away from the main congested area which is overwhelmed with tourists. Here there's actually some Italians in the shops and restaurants (as customers). The owners made some excellent restaurant suggestions. We would definitely stay here again. An excellent value. Book ahead. Sidenote: our GPS was great in getting us around Florence and Tuscany in general

The service was nice. The room quite small, not as small as the shower though. Overall we had a great stay. The B&B is located 5 minutes from all the attractions. Thanks so much.

How to reach Guest House Santambrogio
By carFrom Rome
take the Firenze Sud highway exit and follow the indications for the centre. At the end of Lungarno del Tempio, take Piazza Beccaria and at the first traffic light turn left onto Viale Giovine Italia. At the end of the Viale Giovine Italia, turn right and drive along Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia. Continue along Corso dei Tintori and at the traffic light turn right: after 100 metres you will find Piazza Santa Croce to the right and after 20 meters there is another traffic light: turn right onto Via Ghibellina. Then take via de' Macci. Straight on until you arrive in Sant'Ambrogio square.
From Milan
take the Firenze Nord highway exit and follow the indications for the centre. Once you arrive near Fortezza da Basso, drive along Viale Spartaco Lavagnini, Piazza della Libertà, Viale Matteotti, Piazza Beccaria and Viale Giovine Italia. Go to the end of the Viale and turn right, then drive along Lungarno della Zecca Vecchia. Continue along Corso dei Tintori and at the traffic light turn right: after 100 metres you will find Piazza Santa Croce to the right and after 20 meters there is another traffic light: turn right onto Via Ghibellina. Then take via de' Macci. Straight on until you arrive in Sant'Ambrogio square.
By train
From the Santa Maria Novella train station, take the bus line A (low frequency bus) and get off at the Sant'Ambrogio square stop. Alternatively, from the Santa Maria Novella railway station, take the bus line 31, 32, or 6 and get off at Giardino d'Azeglio stop. The B&B is 50 metres ahead.
By airplane From the Florence airport Amerigo Vespucci, there is the Volainbus shuttle service connecting the airport to the centre of Florence (autostazione Sita) in around 25 minutes.
