We could not believe our eyes when we walked into the room! The property is stunning, the bathroom is enormous and modern, and the hospitality was A+. Serena was there at the door the moment we knocked at the gate. She and everyone else there was inviting and outgoing, literally eager-to-please. I had to check our rate after we arrived to make sure we weren't paying more than I thought because it was all so magnificent. Book Villa Antea knowing that this experience is everything anyone could imagine (and more) of what 'travelling to Italy' is all about. There should be a wait list for this place. It's a no-brainer. Thank you Serena and Villa Antea for MAKING our visit to Florence unforgettable!

Extremely accommodating staff and wonderful rooms, particulary the one and only Junior Suite which was very spacious and beautifully furnished - worth the little extra cost. Out of the main area which is great for access and quietness, however taxi needed to get to the action (not expensive). Highly reccomended.

Villa Antea is, without a doubt, the best hotel/b&b I have ever stayed in! My wife and I spent three wonderful days and nights here on our Honeymoon. Everything about Villa Antea is perfect; the location, decorations, rooms, breakfasts. It is located within a 20 minute walk of most of the major sites. It is beautifully decorated with tasteful art. Best of all, the rooms are very spacious and very beautiful. The bathroom itself is a work of art. Finally, the breakfasts... what can I say? They were very tasty and filling and the Villa offers many different choices. My wife and I will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Florence!

We had an excellent time in Villa Antea. Te staff is excellent, the two young ladies on the desk did everything to help us and to permit us to feel very comfortable during our stay at Villa Antea. They did an excellent job to give us a marvelous service. A special word deserves the breakfast, it was simply splendid. We will be back to Villa Antea in our next visit to Florence and we will recommend it to our friends.

Stayed in a beautiful room but unfortunately the noise from the very busy street was a major distraction.

1. Very Large Comfortable bed (1.8m or 6 feet) in very large high ceilinged room. Large bathroom with walk in shower with undertile heating. Bedroom floor polished wood with good airconditioning if needed. Big opening windows - but see 4. 2. Room well lit with natural light and good lamps for reading at night. 3. Breakfast of fresh fruit, cereal and freshly made bread, croissants and dainty doughnuts. 4. About 20 minutes stroll from centre of Florence - only problem is that road alongside villa is busy thoroughfare and even at night you will hear traffic noise if you're a light sleeper. (We were on 1st floor) 5. Excellent advice for restaurants and reservations made for major museums by hotel - essential.

Our stay at Villa Antea was perfect. We loved the villa and our wonderful room, with its antique furniture and lovely bathroom. We did a lot of sightseeing in Florence and it was always so relaxing to come back to the Villa and enjoy the "charme" of our room. The breakfast was really good. You had a choice between ham, cheese, jam, cereals, fresh fruits and croissants. The Villa lies not in the centre of the city, but it was no problem to walk into the centre (about 15 minutes). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, their restaurant tips were perfect. Altogether we had a great time at Villa Antea and the beautiful city Florence.

Hotel Villa Antea is a well located gem in the hustle and bustle of Florence. Difficult to find under any circumstance; once found it becomes a great refuge. Easy walking distance to most major sites in the old city, although the walk back after a long day seemed to take a while. No dining on site, but good options nearby and the staff made good recommendations. Rooms were spacious, but noise from the lobby reverberates up into the rooms, as does the road noise outside.

This was a a 40th birthday surprise for my wife. A welcoming hotel with a relaxed and calm atmosphere in quite surroundings. Beautifully decorated with class and taseful attention to detail. Friendly and very helpful staff who were nicely discreet. If you are looking for relaxing surroundings, high quality decor and facilities, without the stuffy feel that some of the "main stream" hotels seem to have then this is recommended without hesitation.

We stayed in Florence as part of a whole Tuscany tour. The Villa Antea was a gem. The room was huge, as was the bathroom. Incredibly spacious and very nice. The location is a bit out of the way in a residential area, and you have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get back into the main district in Florence. It wasn't a bad walk except while dragging some luggage on the rough narrow sidewalks, so we took a cab back to the station. The staff was exceedingly responsive and helped set up a tour and spa visit for us, plus provided a list of restaurants in the area. Breakfast was delicious with an interesting continental breakfast plus made-to-order egg dishes. The units are reasonably quiet, but it's right on a busy residential street, so there is traffic noise most of the time. I highly recommend this site for those who don't mind a short hike to get to anything. It's also a very romantic setting.

A great start to our stay in Tuscany. The hotel lived up to expectations and was ideal for a short break. If I'd been staying longer, I'd need a swimming pool out back. Our only negative was that it was a 15 minute walk in to central Florence, but we could have taken taxis! I recommend this hotel to couples and discerning guests.

Great Place!!! Very spacious rooms with huge very nice bathrooms. Great staff (especially Chinzia) who will go the extra mile to help you. A great place to stay while in Florence. Close to center of city (15 minute walk) without being in it. A really good local restaurant nearby for dinner called Il Cavaliere. Great food and prices.

The building and the room are beautiful. The room is very spacious. The staff are very friendly and made great restaurant recommendations. The surrounding area was not the greatest, but no worse than the areas closer to the main attractions. You can definitely hear traffic until the late hours even though the busy street is 2 blocks down. Suggest busing it to the attractions, a bit of a far walk if you plan on doing it multiple days.

I would highly recommend this Villa for its luxury and all that implies. Although it is a little bit of a walk to the sights, it is nice and quiet. It is a little bit of a walk from the train station and the sights so if that is of concern, I might not stay here. However, it is easy to get around by bus or to walk a little bit and worth it for the peace and wonderful environment that Villa Antea provides. Good food, very comfortable bed, large bathroom, friendly guidance and my picture that I left in the room was graciously mailed back to me.

Nice old building converted into hotel with only six rooms. Rooms very nice and very spacious. Bathroom is also very spacious and very nice. The bathroom has a very nice shower, but not enough hot water to really enjoy it. There were only two of us and the second in the shower would start to run out of hot water. Breakfast was feeble. Initially they suggested they couldn't take credit cards but fixed that before check-out. Not sure if it was a scam or legit, but it worked out in the end. While this is a nice place in a quite area, it is removed from the action. We walked and didn't find it too far, but we are fairly athletic. There are busses very close if you don't want to walk. The trade-off is quite area versus close promixity to the sites, shops, and restaurants. There is no restaurant on premises, with the nearest being several blocks away.

What a good find! The quality of accomodation and service was excellent and made our short stay in Florence even more enjoyable. The staff were all extremely helpful and polite, particularly Sophie who proved both incredibly efficient with any of our requests and very pleasant and attentive. The location of the hotel is well situated, being only a pleasant 20 min stroll to the historical city centre passing several popular landmarks on the way. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a touch of luxury at a reasonable price in Florence.

Excellent choice for those who don’t mind a 20-minute walk from city center! It is absolutely a beautiful house, elegantly decorated, very clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are big, especially if you book a double room. The size of bathroom is unbelievably large, and very modern. Because we have 2 couples and 1 single in our group, so we ended up taking the entire 3rd floor, which only has three rooms, it is perfect, felt like staying in a mansion. We will stay there again next time.

Very nice hotel that I had already visited two years ago. Fantastic bathrooms of carrara marbre and very spacious rooms. The only negative point: they should pay attention to some parts of the rhe rooms that are deteriorating, small details but important to some body willing to pay more than 150 euros per nigth. Also a bit of dissapointment about the toiletries: LAst time I was there we had bulgary toiletries that now have been subtituted by normal hotel shampoo and soap.

what a gorgeous room! seriously, the biggest room i have ever stayed at. and the bathroom can be a bedroom..the shower could easily fit 3 people...it had 2 nozzels too. vaulted cielings, and very cute. Pros: huge room, great bathroom, quiet and peaceful. gorgeous room. Cons: you're a little bit away from the main part of the city. if you don't like walking it'll wear on you. we were there for 4 nights and the walking was getting old since everything is about 15-20 minutes in the city. my girlfriend wasn't a fan of the breakfast at any italian hotel we were at (cold stuff, baguettes, etc). you're also in a residential area, so it's quiet.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in throughout my travels! A wonderful renovation of an historic villa, tastefully decorated, retaining much of the charm of it's Renaissance history. Aurora, Chinzia (I hope I spelt that right!) and Juliano were excellent hosts, were very helpful and had great recommendations for Florentine restaurants. A lovely courtyard to relax in with a bottle of vino or two, meet other guests and soak in the Florentine sun. The bathrooms are spectacular, with marble floors, quality fittings and huge, feature showers! I think I spent more time in the shower than in the rest of Florence! Apparantly, the week we were there, the award winning chef was on holiday, so we are planning a return trip soon to sample some more Florentine cusine, and no doubt we will be staying here again.

This was an excellent property to stay in. The staff were very helpful and friendly; buffet breakfast was excellent although made to order items were available also. Very elegant villa that had been restored. My only negative comment is that even though the website states they have air-conditioning, it is only turned on after a certain date. If it is hot before that date, you are out of luck. So be sure to ask before you book.

Excellent accomodation for the price. We stayed with a young child and were given the main floor room with garden doors out into the courtyard which was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Antea. The rooms and villa were gorgeous with lovely furnishings and the staff were very friendly and kind. However, at night we were woken by other guests coming home up the wooden stairs and settling into their rooms. I was happy with the villa for the discounted Venere price we paid, but think that we would have been disappointed had we paid the normal price. It was the little things that let them down such as not replacing shower gel, tissues and toilet paper.

The rooms were very nice but the service and the shared areas were very very poor. In my opinio it cannot be considered a hotel, it had no living room, the restaurant was a little room were you also had the breakfast, the supper we were provided in the room was not more than the breakfast of the following date, no conexion to internet available in the rooms (only in a computer in the entrance). It was more a deluxe hostel than a hotel with proper service. Also the personnel in the hotel was not very efficient... Sorry but it does not worth its price.

Villa Antea and its personnel were wonderful. Our room was very large as well as the bathroom with shower. The only drawback to staying there was the walk to and from the central area of Florence. By the end of the day when we had walked everywhere in the tourist area the 15 to 20 minute walk back to the Villa was a chore, especially when it wass very hot.

I can not describe with words how much we enjoyed our stay at Villa Antea. For the price we paid (149 euros pr night pr double-room) we were thrilled when we saw our beautifully furnished room with walk-in closet, a giant, wonderful bathroom (we screamed when we saw it..) and a wonderful view of the garden. The staff service was impeccable, we were welcomed in the best way and felt taken care of the entire stay. Breakfast was a feast, there were beautiful paintings all over the hotel and free use of internet. But the best part of it all was that the staff were so un-snobbish and friendly, that we didn't feel like we didn't feel alienated in these upper-class environments. We just loved it.

What a beautiful hotel!! Close to the centre of town but not TOO close which we liked. We loved Villa Antea very much. The room was just lovely for the price we paid. The shower was bigger than our whole bathroom back home. The service was second to none - thanks for the cooked breakfasts (we needed something other than croissants). We loved the coffee, cheese. One afternoon I felt like a cup of tea and they served it to us in their gazebo with the most amazing cheese and tomato platter. Silver Service. Parking was great (i.e. parked there and didn't have to pay) and they ordered us a pizza for dinner one night etc. but they included it all in our room rate so what we booked on venere.com is all we payed. Very refreshing. We will definately stay at Villa Antea again! And the free internet was great also.

My husband and I planned to be in Florence for only 3 nights at the beginning of a long stay in Italy and so considered staying in a less expensive place closer to the Duomo. We were so glad that we chose the Villa Antea instead. The room(with central AC!) was beautiful. The enormous bathroom was fabulous and the service was excellent. Breakfast was very good and served until late morning so we didn't have too much trouble on our first jetlagged mornings. The Villa also provided free internet/email access to the guests which was a huge convenience for me. It is a 10 minute walk to the Duomo, etc. but well worth it. For the price we paid the Villa Antea exceeded our expectations.

This hotel was fantastic. We stayed for 2 nights in August and paid a substantially discounted rate through Venere which was great value. Our room was on the ground floor near the entrance but with only 6 bedrooms there wasn't much traffic and therefore noise. The rooms are large and elegantly furnished, and ours had a very large bathroom with a walk in shower. There was no bath so you should contact the hotel if you want a bath. There is no TV or radio in the room just the occasional background music from the entrance hall. In general it was very quiet and relaxing. We received a very warm welcome with complimentary orange juice. Throughout the stay the staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary room service provided a lovely snack one evening and the free non-alcoholic drinks from the minibar were also appreciated during the hot days. The breakfasts were similarly very good with an excellent range of options. The hotel location is about 10 mins walk from the centre of Florence and we never saw this as a problem. The location is in a residential area and always felt safe. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel especially if you can obtain a discounted price as we did.

This place is amazing. It's like staying in someone's private villa. The owners have spared no expense in their renovation. Everything is done first class. The guest rooms and public spaces are beautiful. And the bathroom was incredible--high-tech, spacious, and with the largest stall shower I've ever seen. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The only down side is that it is at least a 15 minute walk to the train station and further to the Duomo and most tourist sites. But it was still worth it and nice to see real residential Florence. Also, ask them for recommendations for restaurants in the neighborhood. The two local places they sent us to were among the best dining experiences we had in Florence and Italy. This place is special if you want to get off the beaten path. I'd highly recommend it!

Villa Antea lived up to all our expectations. The staff (Christoph, Sophie) were extremely helpful. They pointed us to excellent restaurants that were within walking distance. great family restaurants (Trattorias) not ristorante and were very conversant in English. The hotel rooms are exactly as advertised, they are VERY large with excellent windows, and the Bathrooms are unbelieveable with LARGE walk in showers (can hold 5+ people) with multiple sprayer showers that were fantastic after a long day. We spent 3 nights and after touring Florence, Lucca, Siena, Assisi and Rome this was the very best place we stayed. The walk to town is 15-20 minutes but very easy (flat( with interesting sights to see. We will stay here again for our next trip to Florence. If you are looking for a luxurious and comfortable place to stay with excellent breakfasts (eggs, meats, croissants etc) and don't mind paying for it you will Love Villa Antea.

Nicely located with quick access to city centre by Bus 12. Little far for walking if you like to return for a rest midday. Huge rooms with the largest bathrooms of any hotel we have seen. Superb service. Many thanks to the staff particularly Danielle who made us feel very welcome. One of our most memorable hotel stays

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Antea. We expected the 15 minute walk to the centre of old town Florence and we were always happy to come back to our beautiful little hotel with the spacious bedroom and bathroom. Afternoon tea/coffee was excellent and the buffet breakfast was well laid out and very nutritious.

This is a very nice place. It doesn't look like an hotel at all. It's a very nice "Villa" with clean and bright rooms. The people working there are really nice. I especially enjoy the very modern shower in the bathroom. Excellent.

Villa Antea is a fantastic choice. We are so glad that we splashed out that little bit of extra cash at the end of our stay in italy. The quality of the room was impecable. Despite seeing fab pictures on venere, it made us skid around the floor in our socks and rolly-poly on the bed (which was enormous!) in delight when we got there. The bathroom was amazing too. The staff were very helpful and polite. We truly felt special and accepted despite being a very casual looking young dredlocked couple who were travelling with nothing but a duffle bag. Thankyou Villa Antea for a beautiful end to a lovely holiday. We can't recommend it enough.

Wow, what a great place this was. My wife and I spent our Christmas day/night here. The trek to downtown was manageable - especially for the great service, the incredible personal care, and the beautiful rooms. The staff went out of their way to cater to our needs - even laundering in-house when shops were closed on Xmas Day, recommending a coordinating restaurants, and giving advice about sights. We only experienced a small inconvenience when our shower water was cold at different points of our stay. We loved our stay and would likely stay there again. (Great food too).

My husband and I enjoyed everything about our stay in this wonderful hotel. The rooms were quiet, charming, and immaculate. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The staff offered excellent guidance regarding Florence. They also made great cappucinos. The hotel was located in a great part of Florence. We would recommend the hotel to anyone. We hope to get back there soon!

This was a perfect stay in Florence. The staff were exceptional including the dinner recommendations and help getting reservations to various sites. The rooms were exceptional, especially the bathrooms. We had no problems with the walking distance away from the main sites and it was raining 2 of 3 days.

This was a wonderful hotel! Beautifully decorated, amazing room sizes and I'm sure you could have fitted 10 people in the shower cubicle alone. The service was first class. As the hotel only has 6 bedrooms you get a very intimate feel to the property and very personal service. It was a bit further away from the centre but the extra 10 minute walk was well worth it.

If you require an exclusive luxury stay in Florence, you could not get any better than this hotel. Its small size means that there is a pampered feel to your stay, whilst the staff have developed just the right level of attentiveness without becoming obtrusive. However if you require anything to make your stay more enjoyable they are there in an instant. Some of the staff speak excellent English and are more than happy to help with excursions, advice and restaurant recommendations. All I would caution you about is the distance this hotel is from the heart of Florence. It is possible to walk everywhere in Florence and infact this is the best way to get around. But this hotel is a GOOD 20-25 mins to the heart of Florence (for normal strollers like myself) but don't let this put you off. It felt safe to walk home even late at night, and taxis are quick and polite. Besides the level of accomodation more than makes up for exercise. Stay hers you will not be disappointed!

Beautiful room and most especially the bathroom. Wonderful breakfast room and breakfast. Only drawback is that it about 1/2 hour walk into old town and restaurants.

Really excellent hotel - the best we had on our round trip in Italy. It takes about 30min. walking to Florence downtown which could be a lot when you spend the whole day strolling around in the city centre.

This place was the most amazing spot I stayed in my two months in Europe. Renato (sp?) was an amazingly helpful employee and the rest of the staff was willing to provide us with anything. The bathrooms with their multi- headed waterfall showers were worth the stay alone. The place was so nice and enjoyable that we ended up just hanging out there drinking wine all night and postponing the sights for later. Very romantic!

An oasis in the middle of a hectic city. The staff is curteous and helpful. THe room very modern, with a completely newly refurbished bathroom ensuite. Distance to town worth the walk (20 mins), to avoid the noice of the centre. Would return anytime, although Florence as a whole was a somewhat disappointing experience

This property is superb; a beautifully restored mansion in a garden setting. Our room and the breakfast room was elegantly decorated. The personel were very helpful in getting us reservations to the museums. The only drawback to this hotel was that it is so far from the historic center of Florence. Visiting museums can get very tiring, and it would have been nice to duck into our hotel to rest and freshen up. We did not want to go all the way back to the hotel, so we had some long tiring days. Next time we visit Florence we will stay closer to the city center.

Villa Antea is one of the best hotels we have stayed. The service was excellent. The rooms are spacious and beautilful. The bathrooms luxurious. Breakfast a treat. There are only few hotels you remember by name and location for years, Villa Antea is one of them. Only negative point was the noice from the street, but we got use to it after first morning. So over all if you want a perfect stay in Florence, this is a place to stay.

Villa Antea is a beautiful place for a very reasonable price. We had a double room that is very spacious and tastefully decorated. The bathroom is hugh with a hi-tech shower head. The breakfast, included, was excellent, although sometimes the poor waitperson (there was only one) was so busy that the food was not replenished. The hotel is not in the tourist area, so is quiet. It was only a short walk to the tourist areas (15' to the Mercato Centrale and 30' to Ponte Vecchio).

Wow, what a great place to stay! For context, we are late 20-something professionals (American) living in Europe and travel throughout the continent a lot. This hotel is amazing value and top quality--right down to the Bulgari toiletries. There are probably no bigger en suite bathrooms and showers in Italy. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Beds are oversized and comfy. Super quiet throughout the establishment. Free, secure parking for about 5 cars. Complimentary scotch & grappa in the first floor sitting room is a great night cap. When we return to Florence, there will only be one place where we'll stay. Hands down our favorite hotel in Europe.

Villa Antea is a beautiful historic residence with antiques and high tech shower. The co-owner, Christoph was very charming and welcomed us with champagne. The room was huge with high ceilings and walk in closet. On the downside, the night porter forgot our wake up call. Luckily, we set our own alarm and made it to the airport.

This is probably the most pleasant small hotel I have ever stayed in. The hosts were absolutely fantastic. The rooms were superb, and you could fit a fiat uno in the space-age shower. Tuscany eggs for breakfast were glorious. We cannot believe our look infinding such a luxorious hide-away. More please!

My husband and I just absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are just absolutely gorgeous, and the service is outstanding. As soon as we arrived, the owner/manager was there to greet us and provided us with complimentary champagne and appetizers. He also called to set reservations for us at a lovely restaurant by the river. Definitely stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Antea. It offers top value for money. This is the best hotel room I have ever stayed in anywhere. The only downside is that the hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main shopping / tourist areas of Florence. No big deal if you are there for a few days, but maybe not the best choice if you have a shorter period of time. I would definitely stay there again if I returned to Florence.

Villa Antea is an excellent place to stay in Florence. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious - much larger than most hotels in Europe. The hotel was originally a private residence at the beginning of the 20th century and the renovations have created a wonderful turn-of-the century feel. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful with directions, sightseeing information and restaurant reservations. All the lunch and dinner reservations made by the staff were at good, affordable restaurants. The breakfast buffet was nice and the freshly made eggs (to order)were delicious! Although the hotel is a 15 min. walk from major attractions, it is a comfortable walk that allows one to explore some small neighborhoods and interesting sights along the way. I would highly recommend Villa Antea to anyone visiting Florence!
