Everything was very good. Breakfast, welcoming, competence, surroundings. The only problem was that the floor was cold during winter time and there were no slippers. But we lived with that.

This B&B was situated in a street near the DUOMO. Just at 100 meters. Perfect to visit all the most important places by walk. If you arrive by Train/Bus, you can go walking from the station to the B&B (15 min.) Lorenzo was so friendly and the room was much better than a 4-5 stars hotel. It was so big and the decoration was so nice. Breakfast was good and you had more that you need. If we come back to Firenze, I will book again this B&B.

We have visited Florence at least 6 times and this was by far the best property we've ever stayed at. The owners were wonderful and extremely informative. They helped secure our reservations to the Academia Museum. Also, when we arrived, we decided to spend one additional night and they were able to accommodate this AND to give a lower price for the additional night! The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms are huge, and the breakfast was very nice. Very wonderful property, highly recommend!

This place was easy to find and, despite a dull entrance area, the actual first floor location was bright and clean. The room was large and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. There was some, but not much, noise from the vehicles arriving and leaving the hospital opposite. The room was warm. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice and Claudio was extremely helpful finding train times for us.

Charming Guest House, full of details to make guests' state more comfortable and relaxing. Three minutes walk from Santa Maria di Fiori and 15 minutes to SMN Train Station. Lorenzo, the host is just very kind and helpful. They have a nice green small patio where breakfast is served. Rooms are quite spacious, bathroom too and decorated with good taste and details. Highly recommended.

Tourist House Ghiberti was an excellent B&B with services that were outstanding. Owners live in the building and people are running the reception during regular business hours. The room is very comfortable, spacious enough, and the bathroom accommodates the western traveler nicely. We needed to send a fax, when we got back to our room a fax machine was placed with the desk top computer located in our room for usage throughout our stay, very nice. Free wifi was available as well as the desk top computer. Breakfast was a very nice assortment, make your own eggs, yogurt, pastries, cheese and meat, cereals and juices with seating area inside or outside in the courtyard. I very much liked this B&B and would stay again in a heartbeat. The location is perfect for walking to all the main spots in Florence. Just a couple of blocks from the Duomo and no more than 10 min walking to anything else, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizzi, great shopping. The only slight issue is staff, although very professional, didn't feel very warm and inviting for questions. We needed very little help but it just didn't feel like they liked that part of the job too much. Never a smile or ovation. I understand it can get old to greet tourists coming and going all the time but it really is part of the job in the service business especially at a 'B&B'. This absolutely shouldn't take away from a decision to stay here. The accommodations are great and the rate seems fair for what you get. I would definitely recommend as well as stay there again.

This bed and breakfast had it all! We were stunned at how many amenities it had at such a great cost. We LOVED having a hot tub to soothe our aching muscles after walking all day! The location is great - right in the middle of Florence, near the Duomo. We walked to every site we wanted without problem. It was just a short walk from the train station as well. The owner is always there and speaks english well. Never seemed super-enthused to help us out, but definitely answered all our questions. Didn't give great dinner recommendations... :( The breakfast buffet was pretty extensive, though. Something for everyone.

Fantastic location - only 300 metres from the Duomo! Don't be put off by the name - this place has all the facilities that you might expect in a hotel, apart from a bar/evening dining room. Rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean, with flat-screen TV, satellite channels, internet access, DVD player and mini-bar. There's even a sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast is excellent, with option of eating outside on a lovely terrace. Staff speak perfect English and customer service is superb. This place is an absolute gem and unbelievable value. We stayed here for three nights. At first I was a little wary of this place because of the name--"Tourist House" made me think of a traveler's hostel--but I couldn't have been more wrong. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated. The owners thought of everything: from where they put the safe, to the extra thick door to keep out noise, to the salon-quality hair dryer, to the large flat-screen TV, to the PC computer in the room! The breakfast is plentiful (juice, croissants, cake, fruit, yogurt, coffee/tea, breads, and cereal). We didn't get to try the sauna and steam room but they looked nice. They have a shelf of helpful city guides and travel books you can use, and the physical and internet security is excellent. (I've never signed so many forms and waivers to stay at a place in my life!) We had one minor bump during our stay when we asked the woman running the place (who might have been the owner's wife) for help arranging a reservation to the Uffizi and the Academia. I think she was in a bad mood as she was a little short at first, but she eventually helped us set up the reservations. (We all have our days, I guess.) All in all, the place is spotless, beautiful and an amazing deal. We will stay here again the next time we are in Florence.

Of the many hotels we stay at in Italy, this was one of our very favorites. It is clear the owner spent a considerable amount of time anticipating his guests' needs. My wife and I came here in April. THG was the most amenity filled place i've ever stayed. The wifi and the computer in the room were great as we had been traveling for a while and this allowed us to check our digital lives at our leisure and give updates on our trip. The staff was very friendly and informative. The artwork is fantastic. I wanted to buy one...unfortunately not for sale. The location was perfect...right near the duomo and blocks from some great restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Claudio was very friendly and even upgraded us to their large room on our last 2 nights which was very much appreciated. The location of the B&B was fantastic and we could practically walk everywhere from that, very close to the Duomo. However if you have large luggages and need to walk to the train station, that would be a little tricky as the distance is good for walking with bag packs but probably not pulling luggages along the roads.

Designed by a nerd? Excellent attention to detail! A computer in every room, free Wi-Fi, nice LCD TVs, speakers, cool lights, and every other technical detail you could possibly want! ("Designed by a nerd?" is meant as a compliment, from a fellow nerd!) The owner was extremely helpful and accomodating. The room was very nice and comfortable. We had a full day in Florence on our last day, and we were able to leave our bags and even use the wi-fi when we returned. One other thing that was very impressive... The prices in the mini-bar were actually REASONABLE! We got a can of Coca Cola Light for just a Euro -- less than anywhere else (other B&B's, cafes, hotels, and restaurants) in Italy! The breakfast was above average, but not as good as some of the other B&B's we stayed at. The only problem we had was that the Wi-Fi wasn't accessible from our room, presumably due to the thick walls.

I stayed here by myself for 2 days in Dec 2008. They thought of every little thing to make my stay a comfortable one. The room was very large and had a computer w/ Internet (as well as wifi), a wide-screen tv, a telephone, a refrigerator filled with drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. The bathroom was also very large and bright. Claudio and Christelle were always available for help or advice. Claudio even helped with securing transportation reservations for days after my stay at the Ghiberti. There's breakfast (which I didn't get to) and even room-service at no additional charge! When I read the reviews, I knew this was the place for us my husband and I to stay. We requested a room on an inside courtyard and that is what we got. Even though it was probably the smallest room, it was an adequate size. The computer in the room was very useful. The plasma TV was a decent size, plus there was video and sterio equipment and a video library. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the room totally quiet and it is in an excellent location--only 2 blocks from the cathedral! The suggestions that were given to us for dinners were outstanding. We highly recommend the Accadamia Restaurant and order the pre-fix dinner. The only drawback was that they were waiting for a part to fix the hot tub and it wasn't operational the entire time we were there. We could have used it too, after climbing to the top of the dome. We would definately stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Florence.

Location is brilliant just around the corner from the Duomo. Add that to the ancient feel of the building itself, and you experience a real sense of being in the heart of a vibrant and historic city. We were impressed! Just a block from the noisy, bustling central Florence/Duomo area is this small, quiet, modern, wonderful oasis. Claudio & Christelle have thought of just about everything to make their guests' stay a pleasureable one. Wide screen HD tv, bedside speakers, headphones, flexible wall mounted reading lights, DVD player with many movies, in-room internet computer, large foam bed, nice artwork, comfortable breakfast room & courtyard, wall safe, extensive reading library, etc. etc. etc. They gave us helpful city information, arranged for advance Ufizzi tickets, took care of our laundry services and in their quiet way, were there to help whenever needed. We saved a fair amount of money over the outrageously expensive Florence hotels, but felt we got everything, probably more than, the higher priced places offered. This place gets our highest rating and we will return for sure!

Nice staff, good breakfast. To bad that we forgot to bring swimsuits. It would have been nice to take a bath or go to the sauna after a whole day´s walking in the city. I think almost everyone could stay at Ghibertis. In some of the rewiews we have read that it was difficult to find but we don´t agree. If you have the adress it´s easy to find. After staying at four different hotels in Italy, this was the best in terms of personalized service, room ammenities, and quality of breakfast... especially for a small place. Some people criticize the price of the hotel (along with most others I've read reviews on), but the truth is everyone is expensive in Italy compared to the US. That's why I do give them a 10 for quality vs. price. It's also great that Claudio speaks great English. We had to move to another hotel because of starting a tour, but wished we could have stayed here the entire trip. You'll definitely enjoy your stay at the Tourist House Ghiberti!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Claudios' place -Tourist house Ghiberti! A very calm, comforting place to be in,was far above our expectation adn standard. We always choose and love staying in B&B's. With Claudio it was such a different, wonderful experience. Very rarely one comes across such as this. Probably our third encounter of such a wonderful place and person. Claudio's welcome, services - you not only have a beautifully ventialted, aired room filled with sunshine but also free acess to the internet and DVD's -who has heard of this and channels variety inclusive of many many in English especially when hotels so often charge you "to pay and view"! And then there is sauna and what not! Nowhere a speck of dirt! Claudio is a very gentle and caring person himself. He is such a gentleman, came to see us off too till the door when it was busy breakfast time. Only Claudio would do this. Each aspect of the stay has been well above our expectations. The best feel of the B&B began with him coming down the stairs swiftly to welcome us,gave a quick tour of the place and room, we had internet -free -have anyone heard of that? Then a quick about what we as travelers need to be aware of. Saw off always with a good wish. Claudio is not effusive but still makes all feel at home. Our suitcase wheel had come away as many fellow travelers had warned in the web of the result of Venice cobble stones. Claudio fixed this for us depsite having his hands full. We thanked Claudio, all through our travel to Rome,Genoa,Florence and back to Aix en Provence. Breakfast - a huge mug of extremely made coffee made by Claudio was such a personal touch. The breakfast spread was great and so filling. Soft music added to this beautiful flavor. The camraderie that Claudio shared with us was so infective that we guests too were extending to reach out to do something to the other. The place was extremely clean, very well maintained and well provided for. O

It´s a warm place to stay in Florence. The host is kind and willing to help. And it´s so well located that you could go anywhere without a map and return to the hotel easy

I plan on staying here anytime I am in Florence. Claudio and Christelle are wonderful people and operate an incredible bed and breakfast. When we needed last minute museum reservations, Claudio was able to get us in that day. And the rooms were great. Although European in size, the amenities rivaled all other hotels on our trip. All would not be disappointed with a stay at the Tourist House Ghiberti!

This was a fantastic find for us in Florence. We spent three weeks in Italy and this was one of the nicest places to stay. Driving and finding things around Florence is generally difficult, so it was a bit hard to find, but we did and were thrilled with the room. The room was very large and, unlike most other hotesl in Italy, a double room meant one large bed - not two twins pushed together that you fall between as you sleep. In addition, the hotel provided a computer with Internet access in the room, which was extremely convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful and the property also had a "library" of tour books and Florences guides in various language available to guests. They also had a fairly large library of DVDs that you could borrow free of charge if you wanted a quiet night in your room. Finally, the location was hard to beat - you could walk to the Duomo in less than five minutes and it was central to everything. Overall, a great hotel and the only hotel I'd choose in Florence!!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. Claudio and Cristelle were very welcoming. Rooms are spacious, quiet and very comfortable. We really liked all the amenities: flat screen tv, dvd's avail, computer access, keyless entry, sauna, jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet was great: cereal, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, fruits, pastries, meats and cheeses. All the little details made our stay in Florence so comfortable and we highly recommend Tourist House Ghiberti.

This place is four star. It is more like a hotel than a B^B. It was the nicest accommodations of our vacation. The room was spacious, well decorated with TV, internet, and fax machine, the bathroom was large and there were ammenities such as shampoo, body wash, body cream, shoe shine kits, etc. Claudio and his staff were warm and friendly and very helpful recommending restaurants. Breakfast buffet was huge and we had the opportunity to dine on the plant filled terrace. All in all, a delightful experience.

The location is ideal--literally right around the corner from the Duomo, but not on a heavily-tourist-travelled street. There's an elevator to take you up the one floor from ground level. Once inside, Claudio and Christelle (and their beautiful little boy) appear to have thought about everything to make your stay comfortable. Examples: computer with Internet access in the room; a jacuzzi (and sauna) to relax your tired feet after long days of walking through Florence; a lovely breakfast each morning (with fruit, juices, pastries, cereals, meats, cheeses, and coffee) out on the patio (or inside); and a DVD player in the room with a nice collection of DVDs to borrow. Claudio and Christelle were extremely helpful in getting us reservations at all of the major museums, as well as making dinner reservations and calling us a taxi. The automatic lights in the room and in the bathroom take a little bit of getting used to. All in all, our staying at Tourist House Ghiberti very much contributed to our enjoyment of all that Florence has to offer, and we would definitely return here when we return to Florence (someday--sigh...).

Claudio was very helpful when needed, but not overly talkative otherwise, which is a bonus to me! The amenties were outstanding! Large, flat screen TV on the wall, with speakers mounted into the bed headboard, ac, nice sized bathroom, free internet with thin client computer & wifi in the room, self-serve bar, thick door and window....great! Our room was very quiet and the breakfasts were well laid out. Wonderful!

Great location, just a few blocks from Duomo. Our room was superb with excellent facilities (incl. the nicest en suite you'll get anywhere, wall-mounted TV with speakers next to bed, DVD player with free (?) movies from the desk, PC w/ free interenet connection, wall safe for valuables,). Lovely breakfast with fresh coffee, cakes, meats etc. Only complaints: Entrance to place a bit smelly and would have liked a duvee to make bed a bit cosier. Other than that THEE best value for your money. No detail was spared on this place (just check their website).

It was great having the free internet link to keep in touch with home.We also used the free hire of DVD one evening after a long day's sightseeing. We haven't used B & B before but definitely will in the future.

Great value! Staff was very helpful. Rooms nicely appointed with Internet Terminal and flat panel satellite TV... WIFI also available. Nice touches everywhere (towel heaters, reading lights, headphones, safe.) Double windows to keep out road noise... worked surprisingly well and we slept well. Owner takes pride in continuing to improve the facilities and rooms. Everything very clean. Ideal location to visit most major attractions. ~20 Euro taxi to airport, 10 minute walk to SMN station, 30 minutes to alternate station. Stayed three nights and liked it so much we booked the next saturday.

The location one block from the Duomo is very convenient for the tourist. Finding the entrance could be difficult because the only sign for the hotel is on the doorbell, but we found it with no problems because it is right beside the hospital. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and roomy. It is a great deal comparing the price of the room with the location and ammenities of the hotel.

We are very happy to recommend Tourist House Ghiberti and indeed have already done so to friends. This was our first trip to Florence (and Italy) and it would have been difficult to have chosen a better introduction. It is in an ideal location, just around the corner from the Duomo, and is walkable from the station. We found it without difficulty but you do need to look out for the small sign on the wall. The room was of a high standard and just as described on the website. Extremely well equipped and comfortable. It is the first time I have stayed in a B&B with a flat screen tv, DVD and satellite, pc with internet access, hidden safe and telephone/fax! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very modern. We used the spa bath (very relaxing) but unfortunately didn't fit in a sauna, so don't forget your swimsuit! Breakfast was very good. The owner is very attentive and speaks excellent English. It is on the first floor but there is a small lift. When we return to Florence this will be our first choice to stay.

B&B had all modern facilities and a nice "large bathroom". It is located on the 2nd floor and has a small elevator. It is within walking distance of the train station and many prominent sites. Breakfast was bountiful with cold meats, cheese, juices, fruit, croissants, cereal, coffee and tea. Claudio is very proud of his establishment and it shows in his attentive manner.

It's a very challenging place to find. It took us numerous trips up and down the street to finally find it. Considering we were carrying heavy luggage, it was not fun. (There seems to be two of the same address and the sign is more of a plaque.) However, once we were there it was fabulous. I would totally stay there again.

We so enjoyed our stay @ B&B Ghiberti & highly recommend it! The location was the best, although very hard to get to due to Florence's one way streets and the location of the street signs. We used a GPS system, but that failed due to the dense buildings. Still had to use a map, which doesn't indicate one ways. However, once we were there, the B&B called the garage to come pick up our car & deliver it the following day. Diane, our hostess, made all the requested museum arrangements, as well as dinner reservations. She also had great recommendations for nearby restaurants. This is my 8th trip to Florence, and never have I been so conveniently located, for so little $ and received so much. If you don't care about a hotel lobby, then this is for you! Diane made the best cappucino and chocolate cake for breakfast. Our only regret was that there aren't more of these B&B's in other cities! Last, but not least, my husband who is an electronic geek, was ecstatic at the wireless internet, the fax, the DVD, and plasma TV in the room w/built-in speakers. The room & bathroom were generous in size & the elevator worked! The covered terrace for breakfast was wonderful! We will stay here when we return to Florence--no ifs ands or buts!

This bed and breakfast was AMAZING!! It exceeded our expectations to the fullest for the amount that we payed. It had a computer with internet and 32" plasma screen t.v. with speakers right next to the bed. You could watch dvd's and they even had towel warmers and a bath tub. I would even recommend this hotel for a couples honeymoon. It was truly beautiful and much more than we asked for. The couple that owned the place were very friendly and knowledgable. The location was a bit hard to find but once you did it was within walking distant from everything spectacular in the city. Thank you sooooo much for the wonderful experience and stay.

So glad I gave up looking at hotels, and found this gem amongst the guest hous listings. The Ghiberti is luxurious as any hotel, with it's Jacuzzi, Sauna and Internet Access in every room. It is centrally located close to the Duomo, but very quiet. Our room was very clean and spacious, and we appreciated that there was a very well priced minibar that we used (unlike most hotels that overcharge, and then customers do not use!) We found a good restaurant close by on Via F.Portinari called Zio Gigi- try their 'House Gnocchi'- lovely. Yes, the Ghiberti is excellent- STAY HERE.
