If you have rented a car it will be serious problem due to the hotel location that parking is not allowed for foreign vehicles. We could not find anyone when we arrived to hotel in the night and the hotel staff requested extra 15 € for the late admittance although it is not written on the internet page.

Excellent surrounding, which might only justify part of the price. Basic as facility (a big apartment with some rooms on the first floor of a building), generally clean. There was a tv in the room, but no socket nearby to plug it in... Arrived late (22.00) due to traffic, and although I had sent an SMS to inform the "hotel", nobody was at the reception and the door was locked. I had to call some person who came after all but charged us an extra 15 euro because they had to drive back "from a long distance". Also, lack of breakfast (we knew it) cost us big time in central Florence -- better choose a hotel with breakfast if u have a family, even though it might cost another 20 euro per night!

This is a house and not a hotel so you wont have a reception person there all the time. However when he's there, the reception guy is extremely helpful and personable. Rooms are very old looking especially if you are used to quality hotels in the states. Duomo is close to the train station and great restaurants. If you need an affordable place close to everything this is the spot.

This is a wonderful little hotel. Close to the train station, easy to find, and right at the Piazza Duomo. Some of the greatest sites in Florence are just steps away. The staff was very helpful and friendly, not always found in bigger hotels. We will definitly return. We had a very large room, well furnished, with a window on the street that will a small stretch you can see part of the Duomo.

What a great location! Not far from Santa Maria Novella Train statioin and we had to just step outside the front door to see part of "Il Duomo" a magnificent church! Everything was within walking distance and Michele was great. We had access to his phone and computer/internet at no charge. Elevator works well. There was no breakfast but that was really not an issue as just down the street in the Piazza San Giovanni was a beautiful cafe', Scuderi, with delicious coffees, pastries, sandwiches, candy, chocolate, torrone. Everyone was very friendly no matter where we went in Florence. Don't miss the leather market of San Lorenze, again walking distance from this lovely B&B.

Stayed in spacious Room #4. Loved the room, but it was adjacent to a noisy alley. On more than one occasion, witnessed illegal acts going on in this alley. I won't go into graphic detail. We loved Mario and he treated us like his family. The location was nice. Their address was terribly confusing. You must look for 23, not 1. 1 is a candy shop.

Ubicación ideal. A 5 min del DUOMO. Restaurantes, tiendas y todo lo que necesites a un paso. Habitaciones amplias que limpian cada día. El trato, correcto y amable por parte de Mario. Algo caro, a mi parecer.. aún siendo semana santa.

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights at the Tourist House Duomo. We were welcomed by Mario, and he was very helpful. The rooms were airconditioned, clean and pretty large. We had a private bathroom which was also nice. Though don't be confused by the name of "bed and breakfast" because there was no breakfast that I was aware of.

We chose this property as it was a)close to railway station b) in the heart of Florence. Received specific directions on how to find the place via e-mail from the host. The hosts were most welcoming & helpful and after checking out let us store bags there until 4pm (kept a bathroom free for our use then too), A true Italian atmosphere. Great location. The only downside was the poor breakfast ( a roll, juice and coffee) provided by a cafe on a nearby street.

My journey has been really good and the employees of the hostel were very very kind but breakfast in not included in the price (even if on the corner of the next square, that where there is the Brunelleschi's doom, there is a coffe shop when you can find excellent and quite cheap croissant) and every day there was a strange smell in the room but it was probably the detergent they used. It's a really good place to sleep, have a good trip, bye

We spent a week in Tourist H. Duomo. Excellent location, 50 mts. from the Duomo and the rest of monuments and museums. Huge room and bathroom, very well isolated from the noisy street. Very clean, sheets and towels changed daily. We recommend this hotel. As a bonus, it`s in the 1st. floor¡

I must say that the Tourist House Duomo was WONDERFUL. It was spacious, clean, and centrally located on a busy street. The Duomo is a block away. We were 2 women traveling alone and did not have any concerns regarding security. The property has a lift, which we used only upon arrival with our luggage. It was close enough to the train station that we walked from the train station to the property upon our arrival in Florence. All of the major tourist spots (Ufizzi, Duomo, Pone Vecchio, Piazza della Singorina, L’academia”, etc) are a short walk away. The cafe on the corner with the Duomo provides great European breakfast choices. The room (2 twin beds) was quite spacious with an interior window and Italian cable TV (quite entertaining). The rooms have air conditioning and the hot water supply is plentiful. The housekeeper was a delight; she changed your bed everyday and gave us fresh towels everyday. The towels are GREAT. BIG bath sheets made of Egyptian cotton that worked wonderfully! Mario (an older mature gentleman) at the Tourist House Duomo, was there to greet us (with a smile), without knowing our arrival time. There is someone on the property at all times. Mario gave many great suggestions in regards to restaurants and sights. For the price, it was a great choice. If you are looking for lavish accommodations, this isn’t the place for you. If you prefer to stay in a regular place that’s clean, safe, and has decent bed and bath, at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. My goal was to see the sights and have good nights sleep every day while feeling safe. That was accomplished. Many times, when traveling from such a distance, as we did, you don’t always know what to expect with accommodations. This was a nice surprise. Florence is a great place. I plan to return and stay at the Tourist House Duomo. I would stay there again and I would refer my friends and family to this location.

Our stay at Tourist House Duomo was most enjoyable and we will certainly stay there again when we return to the beautiful city of Florence. The location of the house is perfect - walking distance from the train station, at the centre of the major tourist attractions and virtually right next door to the Duomo ! Our host was gracious and hospitable; recommended places for dinner and made reservations for us at museums directly. We would highly recommend this lovely tourist house.

My wife and I enjoyed staying at TH Duomo; the available height of the room was huge and the service very nice. moreover the location was also excellent however, because of the double numbering system of certain florence streets, it took us a while to find the exact adress. Also we were given a voucher to have our breakfast in a cafe located 5 minutes from the house so it wasn't a big issue. I'd definitely recommend it!

It is basically a hostel, not a bed and breakfast. The rooms are big, with TV, AC and are clean and the hotel is very centrally located. It is imposible to sleep late because of the noise in the mornings. The decoration is awful. I would consider it an expensive hostal, but I guess that in Florence everything is high priced.

This is the most unwelcoming, old and run down property I have ever had the misfortune of booking into. I stayed the first night and then decided to leave but was forced to pay an extra nights accommodation which given the quality of the room and the extremely poor service was willing to do JUST to get out of there.

The room was large and quiet, but stark. Location convenient to all. Price a bit high considering there was no breakfast included. Had the vibe of a youth hostel. The person at the front desk is quite friendly but smokes heavily and the smoke permeates the entire accomodation. If smoke is a problem, I would recommend you not book here.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Duomo and lots of shops/cafes/restaurant, while Santa Maria Novella train station is within walking distance, about 500 metre. We had difficulty in finding the place, as the sign in front door did not identify in which floor the hotel was. However, we found the hotel was nice and very clean. The price is also reasonable, although breakfast is excluded. It's quite easy to find a place for breakfast, though. We recommend this place to budget travellers.

Excellent position for the centre of Florence. A little disconcerting to find this is more like a large apartment with the rooms made into guest rooms than a hotel. Also a little off putting to have to go to a cafe several streets away for breakfast. Otherwise a good base from which to explore.

Tourist House Duomo is a great budget hotel for central Florence. The room was very large, as was the en-suite and everything was kept very clean. We were literally a 30 second walk away from the Duomo, which was great. However, I would recommend to take ear plugs- unless you want the bells of the Campanile waking you up at 7 every morning!!

It is impossible to drive around the Duomo area of Florence, so we had great difficulty locating Tourist House Duomo. The proximity to the Duomo and all the spots we wanted to walk to was excellent!! The rooms were OK - a bit drab/dumpy. The view out both windows was garbage cans and dirty inner alley-ways We had adjoining rooms and my kids had people shouting right outside their window half the night.

Tourist House Duomo is excellent and affordable accommodation for its location, which is among the best in Florence, within 100 km of the Duomo, Campanile, etc, and within 300 km of the rail station. The room was large and roomy and quiet, the bed was large and firm and comfortable, the bathroom was small but perfectly adequate with good shower and plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Sandro and Mario were very pleasant and welcoming and helpful hosts. There are four rooms located in a private flat or apartment on the first floor (or second floor to Americans) and there is a small elevator so it isn't necessary to carry your luggage up the stairs. No breakfast is available but there are many small bars and cafes within a few minutes' walk.

It took us almost 2 hours to find the hotel, even though we were walking right past it over and over. The entrance is inside a small alcove, with a VERY small sign (about 4"x6") which I almost didn't see. No other surrounding businesses knew of Tourist House, so it was extremely frustrating to not be able to find it. When we got there we were greeted by a man in his slippers, who only asked if we had a reservation, then showed us to the room. He didn't even ask us who were or get our information. Overall, it was very unprofessional. The establishment smelled horribly of smoke, the rooms also smelled VERY BAD. The room was run down and dirty, not representative of the photograph. We actually left; we paid for one night without staying, rather than endure the smell and the dirt. We found a great hotel just down the street for a better rate that was clean and friendly. I do not recommend this hotel at all!

The location of the property was ideal and the staff were very kind and helpful. Rooms were well maintained, clean and spacious. Breakfast was quite novel, in a cafe two streets away, which we enjoyed but a bit inconvenient when its raining. Unfortunately when we arrived some renovation work was taking place in the entrance area which didn't give a good first impression but the rooms were good. The shine was taken off a little though when they presented us with the bill which was 100 Euros more than quoted but on the sight of my relevant paperwork was corrected.
