Bed and Breakfast Residenze la Mongolfiera - Florence

With very little knowledge of the Florence/San Domenico area, I picked this B&B because I thought it would be more convenient than a downtown hotel for work I was doing at the European University Institute. As a B&B, it was fine (although you can hear everyone coming and going from their rooms). It was clean and my room and bath were spacious. The hostess was as helpful as can be in trying to arrange taxis for me to get to the EUI on a rainy day. Be warned - taxis are not reliable in this region of the city, particularly on rainy days. Bus service into the city centre is regular and bus stops are very close to the B&B. There are a few restaurants around, but you'd probably want to go into the city for more variety. Getting to Fiesole requires 1 bus transfer. Breakfast provided was nice. The patio seemed to be off-limits to guests.

It was perfect. We were a little lost getting there because we were coming in later at night, but the neighbors taking walks saw us and helped us out! They knew right where it was. Then the B&B owner gladly welcomed us, even though we were checking in way past office hours. They also had clean, spacious, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The breakfast was the best part!! I loved it, and it was totally worth the money.

Loved the stay at Montgolferia. Great breakfast-Rozalia such a help! Would stay again anytime-only quick bus ride to Fiernze. Highly recommend!

This bed and breakfast in Florence is a gem. The staff is easy to work with. Everything about this place is excellent. It is in a nice part of Florence just outside the city. It's nice and quiet and a short bus ride into the center city of Florence. The room is spacious and was very clean. You definitely get a great service for a good price. Just wanted to share a quick story about our experience. My wife and I arrived in Italy but unfortunately our luggage did not. Saverio, the gentlemen who runs the bed and breakfast, was kind enough to work with the airline and airports to make sure our bags were delivered to the Florence airport. He also drove my wife and I to the airport which was a huge help. To me that is going above and beyond and we really appreciated it. Finally the breakfast was very nice. If you have a food alergy like I do the staff will work with you.
