Bed and Breakfast Residenza La Torricella - Galluzzo, Florence

Residenza La Torricella was a wonderful stay. Location is magnificent but you do need a car (a GPS is also really useful). Great launching place for both Firenze and Tuscany. Restaurant reccommendations were excellent - some of the best food we ate in Italy!! Lisa and her staff were really friendly and helpful and we really had a "Room with a view!"

We really fell in love with La Torricella .Our room was superb and was kept very clean the view was very nice too.There was also a quiet pool to relax after the day spent on sightseeing the city. Breakfast was great and plenty of home made cakes. We had great fun making the cooking lesson . We will certainly be returning to La Torricella

The room was clean, that's all I can say. The breakfast in the morning was horrible, what there was of it. After you check in there was no one around to talk to, get directions, nothing. I called and called to get extra pillows,( there were 2 on the bed, hard and flat,) no one answered the phone. I left a note requesting them at the front desk when we left for dinner. When we came back the note was still there and No pillows. The property is about 20 minutes out of Florence. Bring a map because the map they offer is terrible!!!

The hotel is very, very nice. Beautiful location. I would highly recommend IF you have a car. You can catch a bus (conveniently) to the street, but there is a walk. To walk up the very narrow road up the hill from the bus stop can be scary. Especially if you stay out late at night. The people in Galluzzo were very nice in helping me find my way. The buses were convenient for getting into the city of Florence. It takes about 20 minutes or so on the bus. I would return IF I rented a car next time.

The instructions for finding/gaining entrance to the property need to be clearer. It would have been helpful to know that an intercom system was used to open the metal gates when we first arrived. The room was clean but rather small so we it was difficult to find room for our belongings. The swimming pool had leaves in it (I appreciate autumn had started but they could have been removed) so we did not use it. The breakfasts were very good indeed with lots of choice and generous proportions.

This was my first B&B in Florence but it won't be my last. La Torricella was a real surprise and my week's vacation was made all the better by my experience. My room was superb and was kept spotlessly clean The view was also excellent. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of home made cakes adding to my waistline. Fortunately the walk to and from Galluzzo Centre allowed me to burn off those extra calories. I will most certainly be returning to La Torricella.

Residencia La Torricella is really worth staying at. The owners live next door and they really take care of their property. They are available whenever you need them. During our whole stay the place was never crowded and we almost had the pool for ourselves for the whole time of our stay. Whenvere getting back to Tuscany I'd try to stay there again.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The B&B is located on a hill in Galuzzo, by car approx. 10 min and by bus 20 min to the center of Florence. The bus stop is just a couple of minutes away down the hill. Our room was really spacious, clean and nicely decorated, and what a wonderful view! The breakfast was very delicious. Leonardo and his wife were excellent, they gave us good recommendations where to eat and what to see. We highly recommend this B&B!

We vacationed in Europe (UK, Fr., Italy, SW) as a family of four (4) - 2 parents and 2 teens ages 13 & 15. The facility served us well for our 1 evening stay. We would stay here again. There was no A/C and it was warm during our stay. We enjoy the friendly staff. Our daughter enjoyed the cooking lesson.

We liked staying here--beautiful rooms and grounds, good breakfasts, quiet and peaceful. Easy bus ride to and from Florence, except after 9pm bus service from Florence got very inconvenient. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at breakfast and in the evenings on the outside wisteria framed patio. Lisa, the owner, went out of her way to take me to a restaurant to find an item I had forgotton there and then drove us to the train station--quite a wonderful act of kindness and service on her part. She also gives recommendations to local restaurants and all that we tried were excellent. I couldn't tell from the map where La Torricella was located, because the map was so small and I could not figure out how to enlarge it. It is about a 20 minute bus ride to the Ponte Vecchio in Florence from La Torricella.
