very good experience, great location! Employees so kind!! This place is for everybody who wants to stay in the middle of the city and near the train station, too. Beautiful rooms. Maybe, there were too much noises during the nigth and early in the morning.
Japan, Sep 2009
The hotel is in the best location from the station as well as all tourist attraction. Rather than a hotel, it felt more like we had our own apartment, being able to go in/out, drop things off, change and go back out and in such convenient location, didn't have to worry about losing any time. Considering how central it was, the hotel itself is just off the main street and with 5 glazed window, it was very quiet. The rooms are small but very clean and everything equipped, I especially loved the safety box tucked away in the least expected place! Was the only hotel in Italy that claimed it had wifi connection in the rooms and actually did and for free! Will recommend to all my friends travelling to Florence and will definitely stay there again myself. The only minor drawback may be that if you are a large frame, unlike myself, the shower booth may be small.

The frendly service given by Elizabetta was excellent as was the breakfast and also the help given in booking for the Uffizi and Accademia. The closeness to all historic sites was particularly good as was the closeness for shopping and restaurants. Being right near the Duomo was fantastic. We would recommend this small hotel to everyone and especially the attention given by Elizabetta.

The accomodation was surpassed expectations, we had a wonderful time in a beautiful city. This is not a modern apartment but we didn't mind as it is very nice, extremely safe, had everything we needed and offered us a little taste of Florentine living! To top this, Elizabetta was fantastic. She welcomed us and gave us all the information we needed. We also were given her mobile number in case we had any questions. Overall, for the price we paid, this was an excellent bargain and highly recommended.

We were made most welcome. The location was excellent and very convenient. The proprietor was very helpful in directing us to our various destinations. It certainly met our expectations. We were on holiday in Tuscany.

The bed and breakfast is located in a very convenient location. It's near the train station as well as the major attractions. Room is clean though our room was very small, there was barely enough space to put two luggages. The breakfast area is tastefully decorated and breakfast is served fresh by the person on duty, when you arrive, which is quite a nice touch. The only downside of this bed n breakfast is the heater in the bedroom. The heater in the bedroom only worked on the first day. The heater in the bathroom subsequently also stopped working on the second day. I wonder whether the heaters broke down or were switched off by a central control unit.

The appartment is very well located and the welcoming very good, but I think that a better price/quality could be found, especially during the period when we stayed (November 2008).

Very satisfactory. Close to the Duomo and central to all venues. Maria was extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was small but so was the price. I slept extremely well and it was relatively quiet as the room faced a back alley - no street noise. The bathroom was really a treat, roomy, clean and practical with nice clean towels. I'll stay there again and would highly recommend it.
France, Aug 2008
the only drawback is that the breakfast was served a bit too late...it started at 8.30am whereas we had to leave at 8am. nevertheless our hostess was kind enough to give access to the fridge so that we could serve ourselves some orange juice, a yogurt and some bread.

We stayed at the Giglio Apartment, which is not at the B&B property but a few streets away. The apartment was great, but has quite a few stairs so those with mobility issues would not recommend. Apartment included a washing machine, working kitchen and espresso machine and was in a location close to major sites, train station and grocery store. The B&B looks very nice and the staff were fantastic at assisting us with questions on arrival.

My wife and I especially enjoyed the location of this B&B just a block from the Duomo. The room was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to carry luggage up to the second floor. The advertised lift did not work. However, the staff did help carry luggage down when we checked out. The main drawback was the bar beneath our room. We could hear the beat of the music late into the night and could not leave our window open. I suggest requesting the room that does not open onto the street.

Maria was an excellent hostess and was very helpful and accommodating. She makes and excellent cafe expresso too! The Relais del Duomo was in a great location and according to my friend who just moved to Firenze came by to pick me up. He asked what I was paying per night, his response was, "your getting a great deal". Next time I come to Firenze, I will stay at this property again. Pietro

My boyfriend and I stayed here and we absolutley LOVED it. Maria, the manager, was so nice and helpful. The hotel is in the perfect location in the city. All of the popular tourist destinations are within walking distance, which makes the hotel ideal for seeing everything without having to walk too far. While the rooms are a bit small, it was fine for the two of us. Besides, Europe is known for it's small hotel rooms. The hotel ammenities were good; tasty breakfast and airconditioning (essential for Italy in the summer). I would defintely recommed this hotel to my friends and family and would also stay there again. We had a great time in Florence and part of this was thanks to our hotel.

The location was excellent (behind Il Duomo), so to move around was very easy; everything is within walking distance. The room and bathroom were clean and pleasant but unfortunately the B&B is located on top of an Irish pub and the music was very loud and went on until two or three in the morning. Also, the smell of cigarretes was very strong in the room even with a closed window. Breakfast was very good and Maria prepared some killer capuccinos. She was very helpful and nice and in spite of the above mentioned inconveniences we would go back there since the location is prime. Thanks Maria for the ice!! Maggie and Mike

Perfect location to explore the city. Local enough to drop off your bags of shopping! loads of nearby eateries to suit all tastes. The Irish Bar below is an ideal place for an aperitif and nightcap! we were in the room above and noise was not a problem at all, the glazing and shutters kept out all the street noise. Staff at the Relais del Duomo were very friendly and helpful. We would certainly stay here again when we return to Florence in the future.

Great place for the price, and the location is literally around the corner from the Duomo. We arrived a couple of hours earlier than expected, and had to wait outside while a neighboring bar owner called the B&B owner for us. We were told that someone would be there in 5 minutes, which actually ended up being over an hour. The woman who let us in was visibly irritable at the inconvenience. Other than the gruff welcome, the stay was as expected. The bathroom windows are not double-paned like those in the bedroom, but with the door closed we heard almost nothing from the Irish pub directly beneath us - this with the World Cup going on! Bathroom facilities were clean, with a strong shower head and some room for storing personal items. Breakfast was basic continental, served by a very friendly young man who made cappuccinos to order. Neighborhood is very safe and convenient to the train station (8 EUR cab ride or 15 min walk). Would stay there again if looking for a good value, but might try elsewhere for a more personal touch.

We loved our stay here. Connie was very friendly and helpful. The location was great - literally steps from the most beautiful sights in Florence. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about our experience. Will recommend to our friends and plan to stay there again upon our return.

I am quite enthusiastic about our stay at Relais del Duomo! It was much more than I expected for the price given the quality of the accommodations and attention to details. Proprietor Guiseppe Magni was a gracious host and really embodied the spirit of Italy that I love so much. The rooms were beautifully design-coordinated that reflected Guiseppe’s good taste. I was most impressed with the thoughtful details that were evident throughout. Linens were marvelous, soft pillows, fluffy towels and little treats left out for our indulgence. Angel prepares a wonderful continental breakfast and makes the best cappuccino! He also takes care of the rooms; they are spotless. Guissepe was very eager to help us with anything we were looking for even when he struggled to understand what it was! I am a restaurateur and was looking to find authenticity in regional cuisine. Out of all the places that we fell upon or recommended to us, his were the best of the lot. In particular was Trattoria del Carmine, which happened to be our best meal, simply marvelous! I will go back there again not only to enjoy this fine establishment, but also to visit Guiseppe, enjoy his kindness, good taste and company. Oh yes, and to see Florence!

Of all the rooms we stayed in Italy this was one of the nicest. Very clean. The only negative is that is is over an Irish pub which is very noisy. With the help of earplugs we were fine. The staff were very helpful in arranging taxis. When we decided to stay an extra night they helped us find accomodations at another very nice hotel.

O.K. for 1 night. Room was over a restaurant that produced a fair amount of noise. Also, noise from common hallway and other rooms could be distracting. T.V. did not carry English speaking channel. Map of location was terrible. One postive was the location.

overall a great spot, central to everything. V good value for money, good rooms and good breaky. One negative is that shower was intermittently cold at first(1st 2 nights out of 4) but was fixed promptly when owner knew about it. A little noisy as irish pub below it.Would definitely return there.

It took me a little while to actually find the B&B although I was in the right street - all you have is a small sign on the wall, so for the benefit of future guests, stand facing the Irish Bar door - you'll see the Relais door on your left - just press the buzzer and someone will unlock it for you. After that things just get better and better. Lovely rooms, excellent shower, located 1 street away from the Duomo with an Irish bar and an Italian restaurant adjacent. Some nights there was a bit of noise from the bar, you can hear the music base notes and hear a bit of talk and laughter from the street until 2 or 3am - however you'd have to be a real light sleeper to let it keep you awake, as the windows have wooden louvred shutters outside, double glazing and secondary solid wooden shutters inside which is very effective at shutting out the street noise. Breakfast is served in a small dining room, and is plentiful. The owner Guisseppe doesn't live on the premises, so will ask for an estimated arrival time so that someone can be there to meet you and give you your keys. All-in-all, I can't speak highly enough of this very reasonably priced B&B/Hotel - a nice place right in the heart of Florence with very friendly and professional staff. I thought I'd booked room-only, but breakfast was provided at no extra charge. I'd highly recommend it. I thought I'd gotten away with parking in the street outside which you can drive into to unload baggage, however I duly received a E35 parking ticket. Guisseppe has a cheap deal with a nearby garage which charges about E24 per night for secure covered parking - however the one-way system makes finding your way to the car park a frustrating and time consuming experience first time. You can walk there in 5 minutes, but it took me about an hour to find my way there in the dark by car - be warned. The rooms are up one flight of stairs, but there is a fairly ancient lift should you need to use it.

A very pleasant proprietor and morning kitchen helper. Our room was very nice, comfortable and very clean. Centrally located to everything. We stayed three nights and were very happy there. Excellent restaurant next door and Osteria across the street where locals congregate to lunch.

Having opened only for about 6months, the owners have carried out a thoughtful and very tasteful transformation of this building. The location was just around the corner from the Duomo (very central!) and was within easy walking distance to Santa Maria Novella station. Our room was quite spacious and inviting and the bathroom was tastefully fitted out. Our hosts were welcoming and worked around our arrival/ departure times. We would have no hesitation to recommend this B&B to others and found it to be excellent value for money.

the only point that satusfacted me non completely was spaciousness of the room: i found it was very cosy and confortable but a quite small and this was not what i had imagined looking at the photo (just one!)on the web. the owner is a kind person and my staying was anyway very pleasent.

The B&B was hard to find because it is located in a very small street that was full of construction was it was easy to overlook. Plus it is basically an apartment on the second floor of a building and the entry was dingy but the b&b was sparkling clean. It is quite small, but the people were friendly. The web page advertised a garage so that we assumed that parking our car was free; it was not. It was expensive and we might have made other arrangements if we had known. Because it is small, I am not sure that there is always someone on duty so there may be some danger of no one answering if a client shows up very early or late which could be a problem since the doors are locked. Once checked in, they give you a key to all doors so it does not matter. The location is very good.
