We stayed 3 nights. Olga's is in an excellent location. A very welcoming and friendly host. Having to climb 80 stairs to reach the B&B was not good, especially on arrival when you have luggage. Probably not a problem when you're 18, but for us in our 50's it was a pain. The room was clean and modern, as was the bathroom (which was small but functional). Breakfast (taken at a nearby cafe) was very poor - for 100 Euros per night, a coffee and a small pastry was totally inadequate (especially compared to the rather sumptuous breakfasts we had at all the other B&B's we stayed). They only take cash not credit cards, which we weren't aware of, and as payment was requested as soon as we arrived, it created a small problem. Apparently Olga's had sent us an email advising of this, however as it was sent only a few days before our arrival we didn't receive it, as we had left for our holiday weeks before. We would both recommend Olga's to anyone (excluding those who may have bad knees or have undergone a hip replacement!)

The room was fine, Roberto ditto. Prob above all is that this b and b is the stairs, with no lift. It is on c the 4th floor. Parking also cost another 25 E in a private car park. But the position would be hard to beat.

Roberto was fantastic and if you like motorbikes you will fall in love with him! The room was great and the coffee that Roberto sends you to have was truly the best coffee we had in all of Europe! Would definitely recommend Olga's

Chambre superbe, bien entretenue.

The location of Olga's house is great. It is right off of a major square, right in the middle of town. It would be almost impossible to find Olga's house on your own from the train station; you must arrange that in advance, or take a taxi. The room was great. There was quite alot of street noise until about 2 am.The streets are cobblestones, so a single cart makes alot of noise. One problem is that there is not an elevator. Olga's house is on the third floor, up a very narrow and steep stair case. We had no help with the suitcases, which could be a major problem for people who are not in good condition. Actually the stairs themselves were very, very steep. Also, we were not happy when we were charged one euro each for clean towels each day. I would have expected clean towels each day to be part of the price. An Italian style breakfast, Italian coffee and a brioche is available one block down the street on a pass. Roberto, the consierge is not present most of the time, but he was very pleasant and spoke English. I would definitely rate this as a good deal. I know many European hotels do not have elevators. But, there was no "bus boy" to help with the suitcases. If you are not fit enough to carry them up three flights of stairs, and then down again, which was almost as hard as carrying them up, you should not come here. Also, you have to climb up and down the stairs everytime you go in and out. We had quite a surprise, June 25 was Saint John the Baptist day. He is one of the Patron Saints of Florence. This was celebrated with a major fireworks display. I really enjoyed it, shoulder to shoulder with the crowd by the Arno river.

The location was amazing. We were at the center of the city! You can have a breakfast at the nice cafes near the B&B so it was nice too. I was well warned about the stairs at this place from all the comments, and thought it would be ok. It was no problem for me, but it was a huge problem for my parents who are in mid 50's. My dad hurt his knee while walking so much in Italy and had super hard time climbing up the stairs at this hotel. Beside that, it was a great stay. I would recommend it if you are young and healthy :)

The location was fantastic, it was in the heart of Florence, this far outweighed the arduous climb of 80 stairs to the apartment. Very modern apartment with good bathroom, no aircon and in May it was hot so opened the window which overlooked the old marketplace, great to watch but noisy early morning and through the night. Coupons were provided for breakfast in Piazza della Signoria (wonderful position)don't sit down as the price went up considerably as it does anytime you sit down in Italy. The host was very friendly and we enjoyed out stay very much, excellent value for money. If you choose to stay make sure your bags are light or be prepared for the climb.

The location was perfect...in the middle of everything. It is an easy walk to restaurants, historic sites, and anything you need. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Florence. The 80 step walk-up was not a problem for us, though it may be for some people. Just pack light (always good advice for any traveler!) The only snag we had was that our arrival was off due to a missed train, and we had to let the owner know. For future reference, phone is better than email. Since we ended up arriving at 9 p.m., and he had to go pick up another guest at the train station, it was an inconvenience for him and for us as well. Even so, Roby was helpful, enthusiastic and an interesting person. We can't wait to go back.

A great place to stay, central and a very professional host. You need to be aware of the stairs, but they are fine provided you have moderate fitness, if you don't it will be improved by the end of the week! Please do not think the door to the street opens automatically when you press the buzzzer, it doesn't, your host has opened it for you, you then need to go straight up the stairs to the door of the B and B. We were made most welcome with lots of useful information - the location is brilliant with access to all the usual attractions and for a central location is surprisingly quiet particularly with the double glazing . We usually sleep with the window open but slept quiet comfortably with it closed because there is plenty of air circulation with the high ceilings. It is also very comforatable and warm on the chillier nights because of great central heating. The breakfast you pay for is traditional but you can pay for an enhanced version, what you get is from an excellent establishiment with good coffee and excellent pastries. We would return without hesitation. Thank you for your part in what was a great holiday.

The rooms were great, but some noise at night. The biggest problem was the breakfast. Not because it was Italian style, but because of the grumpy staff at the cafes where it was served.

I had a wonderful time staying at Olga’s bed & breakfast. The location was excellent and very convenient; it’s very near and walking distance to all the major points of interest in Florence. I really liked that I was given a coupon to have breakfast at one of the nearby cafes, instead of eating at the b&b. It was a good way to start the day to see and stand next to the locals having the same pastries and cappuccino as I was. The host was very friendly and helpful. He was very welcoming and always asked if I needed any help with directions, etc. There are 80+ steps that you must climb to reach the b&b. It was very good exercise after eating so much good food, which could be easily found in nearby restaurants. I will definitely stay at Olga’s again if I go back to Florence for another visit.

We visited Florence end of November and stayed at Olga's House. The location of the B&B near Piazza della Signoria is absolutely excellent. You are close to all the major sightseeings. Roberto, who welcomed us, made us feel at home immediately. The room (for three) is simple, but spatious and very clean. And they go the extra mile by providing you with bathrobes. And you don't have to bring you own shampoo. So all in all, we had a wonderful vacation. November can be a great time to visit Florence. There are no waiting lines for all the major museums.

Olga's House's greatest asset is location. It is just a 1/2 block off the plaza the Uffizi is located. Easy walking distance to all of Florence top attactions.Olga has no public areas & breakfast is provided at the restraunt on the plaza. (coffee & pastry) Roberto was very helpful & his recommendation of La Grotta Guelfa was the best Restorante we had in Italy.

We were very happy with our stay at Olga's House. We read about the B&B being on the 5th floor and there being no elevator to assist with transporting the luggage, but were prepared to deal with it. Others trying to decide on B&Bs should know that there are 80 steps in those 5 floors. The host was quite welcoming and friendly. The location could not have been better--only a few feet from the Uffizi Galleries and a short distance to the Academy. We'd definitely recommend Olga's House to future travelers.

Very friendly welcome. A few little rules to abide by (so don't expect five star hotel service) but not unreasonable given the price and very central location. Unsuitable for people not prepared to carry bags three flights of stairs! Otherwise fantastically comfortable, clean, spacious and good value for money.

Great location - very central to everything so you can walk everywhere. The Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio are a 5 mins walk and the Uffizi Gallery is probably 2 mins away.Roberto was a great host and was very helpful with regards to recommending good restaurants etc.Very clean rooms and bathrooms.I would definitely recommend it to friends & family. The only thing that I can see that might be a problem for some(Older couples) is that there are about 80 steps to get to the B&B and there's no elevator. It worked out just fine for me as I needed the excercise after eating great food at the nearby restaurants everyday!

Dear Roberto, I promised you the day that I left that I'd write a review of Olga House. It took me 5 years, but I'm keeping my promise. :) As you can imagine, my memory isn't that fresh, but I do recall there being a lot of stairs to climb, which my friend and I took in stride and made it our daily joke. You told us a story about an older gentlemen who suffered a heart attack but your stairs made his heart stronger, so there was no way we could complain. I also remember you giving us a lot of helpful information about how to get around and where to eat. Including giving us little cards with smiley faces that we could use for breakfast at a restaurant around the corner. The location was very impressive and so close to everything we wanted to see. One of our friends couldn't make it, so we had the triple room for the two of us. It was very spacious and well kept. I see from the photos that there have been upgrades, so I'm happy that you're still in business. Your city is lovely, and I have fond memories of my stay there. Thank you for making my stay pleasant, I'll cherish my memories forever.

Roberto is a treasure. He's always available and is so willing to be of service. For example, we asked him about visiting the Piazzale Michaelangelo and right away we had bus schedules and other information. He even got up at 6:00 A.M to help us carry our bags down the 80 steps! The location is wonderful, right on the Piazza della Signoria ...close to the Ufizzi and within easy walking distance (ten minutes or less) of the Duoumo, Galleria dell' Academia, the Ponte del Vecchio, Santa Croce. Breakfasts are around the corner at a wonderful restaurant with absolutely delicious pastries and great coffee. We would definitely recommend this to other travelers....just know that there are 80 steps, but even at our ages (late 60's) it was not a problem. Great value for money.

Once you get up the VERY daunting eight flights of stairs you will find a wonderful, modern and clean room. The staff could not be more chatty or friendly. English is pretty good. If you want a big breakfast in your room you'll be disappointed because an Italian collazione (coffee and a croissant) is offered at a nearby cafe as part of the tariff. This is not for people with a lot of heavy luggage or who cannot handle climbing stairs. I will return because of the lovely owners and the incredibly convenient location.

Olga's house is very clean, new and well-maintained by the dedicated owner. Attention is paid to every aspect: hair dryer, bath rope, slippers and towels are all provided, definitely more than what one would get from a typical B&B. The location is central to major attractions, like 30 seconds from Palazzo vecchio/Piazza della Signoria; and yet the room is very quiet. I have received very welcoming hospitality from the owner. The ride to airport is arranged promptly. Highly recommended!!!

With the one caveat of ensuring you know that there are 80 steps up to the entrance of the this gorgeous B&B, you cannot find a better location or price in Florence. I have stayed in Florence for over 30 years and this is unquestionably the finest value for dollar spent in that city.

Lovely accommodation just a few steps from Piazza della Signora and the Uffiz. The climb up the steep 80 steps was worth the excellent value for money this place represents, but not for the unfit. Room was modern and spotlessly clean,in an old style building that had all the character of Florence. The owner could not have been more helpful. The breakfast arrangement at a local cafe was different but worked well. I would not hesitate to use this accommodation again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Given that Olga's is right beside the Piazza della Signoria it was extremely quiet. The windows have double glazing and it kept the noise out which was important for us. My husband & I had an excellent stay at Olga's House. The place was nice & close to a lot of tourist attactions. Roberto was very great! He was attentive and extremely helpful. He gave us wonderful tips and restaurant suggestions. He even found us train schedule without having us to ask (just to make sure that we didn't have to waste our time at the train station waiting!) I would recommend Olga's House to all tourists visiting Florence! One thing is: they're on the third floor and there's no elevator. (Well, you need to walk a lot while you're in Florence anyway! Location location location!!! Great location, right on the Piazza Signorina. Very warm and gracious host couple. Roby will do whatever it takes to make you comfortable and welcome. Some of the best a/c and showers we experienced in three weeks of travel in Italy. However, there is one thing you need to make sure you are aware of.....There is no lift and the hotel is on the 4th floor (actually 5th). There might be "50 ways to leave your lover" but there are 80 steps to Olga's House. Pack light....It is worth the climb. There is WIFI but intermittent coverage and only from certain "hot spots." I loved Olga's House and Roberto! He made the trip so lovely, and his welcoming demeanor was much needed after a less-than-great experience on the train. The rooms were bright and cheerful, just like Roberto!

this was a lovely place and i would be back in a flash, if i could afford it. i know florence is expensive, but this was more than double the price we paid anywhere else in italy- and we traveled for 5 weeks!

We really enjoyed our stay at Olga's House. He was very welcoming and friendly. We only stayed there one night, but we wish we had more time in Florence. The location couldn't be better. The windows are sound proof when they are closed. We had our window open for a few hours at night and just listened to a musician in the square, it was really nice. I would definitly stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome location. We were able to roll out of bed and be in the Piazza de Signoria in 30 seconds! The Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and other sites just minutes away. Great manager. Roberto could not have been more helpful. He accommodated all of our requests. The amount of stairs is daunting - although with the way we ate in Florence - the extra exercise was good!

Meeting Robert was fantastic. For a first stay in Florence it could not have be more pleasurable and hospitable. The rooms were clean, orderly, and the minute details and assistance from finding places to eat, to laundry was gracious of the host.

My nephew and I stayed at Olga's House in mid-February 2006 on our way to the Winter Olympics in Turin. It is the only place that I consider when staying in Florence. I have booked here twice before and will book here again when I head back to Florence. Location is absolutely the best and Roberto is a very welcoming host. He also recently remodeled the rooms which are nicely appointed, clean and very large. You can't go wrong staying here.

Olga's House is in a wonderful location-a ten minute walk to the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio is just around the corner and the Uffizi is a few steps across the Piazza!I couldn't ask for anything better on my first trip to Florence.Roberto was very hospitable and helpful with things one should know. The coffee and croissants at the Cafe Rivoire were a great way to start the day.The room was very comfortable thanks to the air conditioning( the temperature was in the high 30's)The stairs, which went on and on,wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been so hot out. I would stay there again.

We had a great stay in Firenze due in part to Roberto and his B&B. Highly recomended due to quality of accomodations and Roberto's help. Only really bad thing about the B&B is the insane amount of stairs (80!) to get to the B&B -- there's no lift in the building.

Very charming and good-running place with great location. The high-tech design shows the best correlation with the character of the owner. Warning: the place with the location on the 3rd floor has no lift (80 steps:)

This was an excellent place to stay while visiting Florence. The location could not be any better to the main attractions and train station (only cost €6.00). The B&B is fab and Roberto couldnt of been any nicer. He was so friendly and genuine. We even extended our stay in Olga's an extra 2nights as we loved it so much. Will definately be back and will recommend this place to anyone who goes to Florence!

Olga's house was a perfect spot from which to see Florence. It is in the immediate vicinity of the Uffizi, but high enough above the street, that you can retreat from the crowds back to your room. Our only disappointment was that a double room was not available and we had 2 single beds pushed together, which we were not clear on when we booked. It was lovely to get to know our host a little and his advice was great.

Olgas ıs an up market Hostel arrangement wıth prıvate rooms. It ıs smack bang ın the centre of the cıty - fantastıc locatıon makes up for the staırs to get to the room. We only stayed one nıght but Roberto was wonderful, would stay agaın just for the locatıon. Breakfast was lıght - would recommend that you eat elsewhere. A brıoche and coffee standıng up wasn't my way of startıng the day.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Olga's House. The owner, Roberto, is like a host welcoming you into his home. He cares about the comfort of his customers, and he is happy to offer recommendations for getting around Firenze and the area. I loved the quality of the cappuccino and cornetto breakfast at the nearby Cafe Rivoire -- and the flexibility it added to my schedule. If you want to be in the midst of the action at the Piazza della Signoria, you couldn't ask for a better location. Noise at night was not an issue -- I just closed the double-paned windows. Decor of my room (the single) was spare, but very comfortable, new, and well-designed. As for the stairs, don't worry about them. They're just a nice built-in workout. Roberto was happy to help with my luggage, coming and going. FYI, my taxi fare to the train station was 8 Euros.

Excellent bed and breakfast! Just keep in mind that it is NOT a hotel, so don't expect the same level of extra-services (laundry, etc.) This said, the staff is very welcoming and always willing to help out.

A very convenient guesthouse as it is only a stone;s throw away from the marvellous Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi Gallery. Roberto was always there to assist and ask if anything was needed. Overall,it was a very pleasant stay with the only exception, the lack of an elevator... During my stay I wished Leonardo Da Vinci could have invented it, since Olga's house was on the third floor of an otherwise really cosy and modern guesthouse!

Olga's House is so well located! We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Roberto the ownder was so friendly and welcoming too! The room was immaculate and very comfortable. The only warning I would give is that there are many stairs to climb to get up to the floor of Olga's House so be warned if you have heavy suitcases! Luckily we had backpacks! :) I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, it's a fantastic base to explore Florence from. We will certainly be going back!!!

Carrying lot of luggage is not very good idea here due to stairs, which was pretty common with other places as well so not specific to this place. Nearby market noise can bother some in the night. The owner is a friendly person. Due to renovation needed cash, but was not clear earlier till we reached there and so was little bit of hassle if you did not plan for large amounts to be spent on cash when you are travelling outside US since our bankcard had been disabled. Location wise very close to Uffizzi and piazza del signora and can walk to duomo and even accademia and train station [latter two about 10-15 minutes]. The breakfast coupon is valid at nearby restaurant if you make sure you eat on the bar, else the difference if you sit and eat will be very much. The B&B should provide maid cleaning by default for stays long er than one night instead and also provide towels without making them on demand. The room was clean when we took, but would appreciate the maids coming without we having to specify the following day.

We stayed two night in March, 2006. A clean and spacious double room at the top of an invigorating 80 step climb! (Yes, the stairs can be intimidating - you definitely don't want to forget anything in the room before you go down in the morning. :) The room was very nice. Everything looked brand new, and there was even a flat screen LCD TV and DVD in the room! It really felt more like an upscale hotel room than a bedroom in someone's house. The owner, Roberto, was very helpful and even sent a personal confirmation e-mail in addition to the Venere e-mail. His recommendations for dinner were excellent. The included breakfast of coffee & a pastry was in one of the city's finer chocolatiers - on the Piazza della Signoria, just a few steps from the B&B and directly across from the Uffizi Gallery. Our view was identical to the one shown on the web site. It faces north, and looks over a classic covered market square. (It cleared out at night and you could hear the occasional group of boisterous college students, but they never got too loud.) No WiFi or broadband internet access, yet. The web site mentions a 'free Internet Point,' but the only option we were given was a phone line in the room. Roberto said he was getting the run around from his local telecom company, so I did my best to convince him he could set up the WiFi on his own. Until then, there is a nice internet cafe about a block from the B&B with reasonable hourly rates.

This B&B has very welcoming kindful atmosphere and very nice location. When our mother was tired and a little bit sick, Robert offerd us some tea. This B&B is located on third floor, so quiet at night even in downtown.Plus you do not need to worry about carrying up your luggage. He said he usually called other stuff to carrying up( we got there earler than we told, so we didn't use this service though.) Thank you Robert, and we will defenetely recommend to friends.

All of our Venere accom was great, and this was one of the best.Book now, this place is fabulous. Roberto is wonderful, accomodating and very helpful. 3 of us stayed and were really impressed with location-Piazza della Signoria with copy statue of David only 50 mtrs away, together with best coffee in Italy at Revoire.Wonderful bars and restaurants - Frescobaldi in particular (Roberto knows where it is). Roberto was about to renovate already faultless rooms, so don't delay. A reminder to ring with arrival time day before, so that he can be there for you.

Thank you, Roberto, for everything. We highly recommend Olga's House for anyone wishing to have a fabulous, personalized visit to Florence. Roberto, our host, went out of his way to make us comfortable. His recommendations we right on, and he went above and beyond: when I caught a cold, he brought me tea and crackers! Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was wonderful - Roberto gives a card to use at a local cafe in the piazza. It is worth climbing the 4 flights of stairs to reach Olga's House. We will definitely be climbing them again!!!

Our host Roberto was great. He was very helpful and made our stay in Florence terrific. He assisted us with everything we needed and had good recommendations about sights and restaurants. Even tought it is right in the center of all the action, there is double pain glass that keeps out the noise . Be ware of the 80 stairs up. Much easier getting down with baggage than up. We would stay again!!!!

Excellent location just off the Piassa della Signoria. We had a very clean simple room with double glazed windows for soundproofing. Only drawback is the 79 sets up to the rooms. Roberto was helpful with restaurant suggestions and advice on how to get into the Accademia withour a reservation.

The location cannot be beaten....steps away from everything....and you can also walk to the train station. Roberto was wonderful and very accommodating. Our window overlooked the market but the windows kept the noise out very well. The view was good, too. The property is just what was presented and completely met expectations....with location being even better than imagined. It is not meant to be a luxury B&B however it is perfect place to stay while busy in Florence. You are not paying for all sorts of amenities you are not around to enjoy/partake. If you are looking for a very clean room with all you need for showering and sleeping, it is perfect. There was also enough space for the small desk and small armoire in our room. Also, it is quiet....caught just a glimpse of other guests. Breakfast included is nearby and at your choice of time with a voucher. Easily recommend for anyone looking for a good place to stay which is convenient while exploring Florence. We walked to/from the train station with our luggage on wheels.

The location cannot be beat. It is located right by the Piazza della Signoria and all the major sights, such as the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery are literally a 2 minute walk. We are also by the Arno River so you can easily cross the bridge by foot to see the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens. As for the B&B itself, the rooms are a bit small but all facilities are clean and rooms are sunny and bright. Make sure you let Roberto know what time you are coming, and let him know if you will be late, because he will have someone there at that exact time to carry your bags up the 3 flights of stairs. Otherwise you are on your own!

I absolutely loved staying at Olga's house! The directions from the train station are right on, and once I got to the Della Signora square I had no trouble finding the place. The location is awesome, and there's a great little restuarant up and around the corner that I had dinner at twice. Roberto is so helpful and a great host. I hope to return to Firenza next year, and I will not hesitate to stay at Olga's house again. Grazie Roberto!

We could not fault this place - except the stairs leading up (And we knew that beforehand, plus ROberto welcomed us with a cool drink!)It was spotlessly clean and our triple room was very spacious. Roberto was a wonderful host - funny, helpful and so welcoming. We will recommend it to anyone going to Florence.
