Mr Roberto... What can I say about him? He made us feel a little uncomfortable, first by sending us an email one week prior our arival asking if we wanted to cancel our stay due to reforms... We did not answer and were informed upon our arrival to have given him a lot of trouble. Well have all your documents prepared, passport and credit cards in case you break anything, the welcoming might make you feel you`re in a police station. The room was very small and noisy because was adjacent to the reception, whatever you do avoid staying at room number 5 !!!! The Location is superb tough. Would not stay there again but like Roberto himself said: - For the price...

There is not elevator in the buliding and the apartment is located on the 4th floor, so if not nice to go up carrying your luggage after a long trip or after walking around the city. The room has basically everything you need. Only one towel for each person, no hand towels. You have to bring your soap and shampoo.

Olga's is very clean, beautiful and modern. It is right on one of the main square's of shopping and tourism, so noise throughout the night is common. The B&B is locate up a substantial amount of stairs. If you like to workout and don't want to go to the gym while on holiday- you may still get your exercise!

Olga's house is placed fantastic in the center of Florence only 100 m from Ponte Vecchio, and close to everything. We were 5 people in two spacious and very clean rooms. The host Roberto is very kind and helpful. He is not in the B&B all the time, but you can always reach him on cellphone. He can guide you around Florence and recommend parking, restaurants, museums and so on. You are given tickets for italian breakfast (coffee and croissant) at one of the most famous restaurants in Florence, placed only 75 m from the B&B. It could be nice if there was a little fridge in the rooms, but I guess there is a reason for that. We will definetly come back to Florence on day and we will surely stay at Olga's house... Note: There is 80 steps up til the B&B - that's good excercise, but will probably be hard if you don't walk well.

Roberto was very motherly and cared about the comfort and safety of his guests a great deal. The breakfast voucher was the most sought-after spot in Piazza Signoria, with a stunning view. I would stay here again in a flash.

I stayed for two nights, the rooms were nice clean and the location was excellent. In the center of florence and very near to many restaurants and shops. HOWEVER you don't enjoy anything since according to the rules you need to be in the rooms before 1 am. Imagine going to your holidays and cannot stay out after one for drinks. Also if you leave something on in the room like light or a/c then you have a black-out and need to call and wait Roberto. If this happens at night ? Since you pay for the room you can do whatever you want or the system should be different. Also about breakfast, FORGET about it, it should not be included in the price or the place should be called only BED without Breakfas. You get one coffee and one croissant ONLY from some closeby cafes and you CANNOT SIT, only stand at the bar. TOO expensive for these kind of services. So read the information carefully because Roberto will always say "it's in the website".

We had some communication trouble, so when we arrived the owner was not there to let us in -- but that was my fault, so this is just a warning to be careful and keep an eye out for any communications from the B&B. Also, to get to the rooms you need to haul yourself and your luggage up 80 steps as there is no lift. On the bright side the location is fantastic, and we did not have to pay for any transportation while in Florence because everything was within easy walking distance. For breakfast, the owner has a deal with a cafe right around the corner. We were given tickets for a coffee and a pastry of our choice, both of which were delicious.

We've stayed in hotels and B&Bs all over the world (US, Europe, Asia, Middle East, former USSR) and this was our least favorite experience of all. In our opinion, there was a real lack of attention to detail. From the quality of the bed & bedding, to the inability of the curtains to cover the full width of the window, to the breakfast vouchers for a coffee and a roll which required you to stand in the cafe while eating (no sitting down allowed!), to the single (smallish) towel per person (no hand or face towels provided) -- the whole experience really disrupted what would have otherwise been a visit to a wonderful city.

Olga's is in an absolutely fantastic location for exploring classical Firenze. It is literally just down the alley, which opens up to Piazza della Signoria with all its amazing treasures. Host Roberto provided a warm welcome after we hefted outselves up the three flights of very steep steps. The steps (80 of them .. we counted)were evidently on the website but we were so thrilled to get a room here, we didn't notice that! The steps just about killed us, but all in all I think they were balanced out by the great facilities of Olga's and its location. The only other downside was the breakfast vouchers at Cafe Rivoire in Signoria -- itself a lovely establishment. The vouchers only allowed a stand-up coffee and pastry at the bar ... which is authentically Italian, but not a gentle way to start 8 hours of touring.

Of all the places my husband and I stayed on our honeymoon this was our favourite and the only place that we would definitely like to return to. You can't beat the location and we really liked Roberto (the owner). Be warned - this place is not for everyone, there are a lot of stairs, the bathroom is small (but sufficient), the breakfast is not great and it is not like a hotel (so wouldn't suit "high maintanence" travellers). But if you're looking for a comfortable bed, good value and a great location then I doubt you could do better.

The proprietor Roberto is a delightfully engaging and interesting individual who is very concerned that his guests are well received and considerately taken care of during their visit. He maintains a welcoming, safe, secure, and quiet establishment. The location is just off the Piazza Signoria in the thick of of Old town, very convenient but sometimes noisy. There seems to be a noise curfew at 11PM however, and things quiet down. I recommend earplugs just in case. Roberto bolts the door at 1AM so late night drunks need not apply. There is a stop 1 block away for the C2 electric mini-bus direct to and from the train station. Breakfast is a voucher for cafe and brioche standing at bar only. Residence is on the third floor so be prepared for the 80 steps up. You won't need to go to the gym! A good conversation with Roberto makes it all worthwhile.

The guesthouse's location is excellent, centrally located, and the surprise was, that the room was very calm. The mattress was perfect too and I had a very good sleep. The room was very clean, the bathroom (especially the shower) a bit small, but absolutely sufficient for a short stay. All in all my stay was perfect.

You can't stay anywhere nearer to Florence city center (every famous landmark e.g. Dumuo, Uffizi, piazzas need 2-5 min walking). Cash only if under 200 euro. Owner is very friendly and informative. House clean and tidy but inexpensive. Strongly recommnend to those who don't mind climb some stairs (on the third floor).

We stayed 3 nights. Olga's is in an excellent location. A very welcoming and friendly host. Having to climb 80 stairs to reach the B&B was not good, especially on arrival when you have luggage. Probably not a problem when you're 18, but for us in our 50's it was a pain. The room was clean and modern, as was the bathroom (which was small but functional). Breakfast (taken at a nearby cafe) was very poor - for 100 Euros per night, a coffee and a small pastry was totally inadequate (especially compared to the rather sumptuous breakfasts we had at all the other B&B's we stayed). They only take cash not credit cards, which we weren't aware of, and as payment was requested as soon as we arrived, it created a small problem. Apparently Olga's had sent us an email advising of this, however as it was sent only a few days before our arrival we didn't receive it, as we had left for our holiday weeks before. We would both recommend Olga's to anyone (excluding those who may have bad knees or have undergone a hip replacement!)

Chambre superbe, bien entretenue.

The location of Olga's house is great. It is right off of a major square, right in the middle of town. It would be almost impossible to find Olga's house on your own from the train station; you must arrange that in advance, or take a taxi. The room was great. There was quite alot of street noise until about 2 am.The streets are cobblestones, so a single cart makes alot of noise. One problem is that there is not an elevator. Olga's house is on the third floor, up a very narrow and steep stair case. We had no help with the suitcases, which could be a major problem for people who are not in good condition. Actually the stairs themselves were very, very steep. Also, we were not happy when we were charged one euro each for clean towels each day. I would have expected clean towels each day to be part of the price. An Italian style breakfast, Italian coffee and a brioche is available one block down the street on a pass. Roberto, the consierge is not present most of the time, but he was very pleasant and spoke English. I would definitely rate this as a good deal. I know many European hotels do not have elevators. But, there was no "bus boy" to help with the suitcases. If you are not fit enough to carry them up three flights of stairs, and then down again, which was almost as hard as carrying them up, you should not come here. Also, you have to climb up and down the stairs everytime you go in and out. We had quite a surprise, June 25 was Saint John the Baptist day. He is one of the Patron Saints of Florence. This was celebrated with a major fireworks display. I really enjoyed it, shoulder to shoulder with the crowd by the Arno river.

The location was amazing. We were at the center of the city! You can have a breakfast at the nice cafes near the B&B so it was nice too. I was well warned about the stairs at this place from all the comments, and thought it would be ok. It was no problem for me, but it was a huge problem for my parents who are in mid 50's. My dad hurt his knee while walking so much in Italy and had super hard time climbing up the stairs at this hotel. Beside that, it was a great stay. I would recommend it if you are young and healthy :)

The location was fantastic, it was in the heart of Florence, this far outweighed the arduous climb of 80 stairs to the apartment. Very modern apartment with good bathroom, no aircon and in May it was hot so opened the window which overlooked the old marketplace, great to watch but noisy early morning and through the night. Coupons were provided for breakfast in Piazza della Signoria (wonderful position)don't sit down as the price went up considerably as it does anytime you sit down in Italy. The host was very friendly and we enjoyed out stay very much, excellent value for money. If you choose to stay make sure your bags are light or be prepared for the climb.

The location was perfect...in the middle of everything. It is an easy walk to restaurants, historic sites, and anything you need. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Florence. The 80 step walk-up was not a problem for us, though it may be for some people. Just pack light (always good advice for any traveler!) The only snag we had was that our arrival was off due to a missed train, and we had to let the owner know. For future reference, phone is better than email. Since we ended up arriving at 9 p.m., and he had to go pick up another guest at the train station, it was an inconvenience for him and for us as well. Even so, Roby was helpful, enthusiastic and an interesting person. We can't wait to go back.

A great place to stay, central and a very professional host. You need to be aware of the stairs, but they are fine provided you have moderate fitness, if you don't it will be improved by the end of the week! Please do not think the door to the street opens automatically when you press the buzzzer, it doesn't, your host has opened it for you, you then need to go straight up the stairs to the door of the B and B. We were made most welcome with lots of useful information - the location is brilliant with access to all the usual attractions and for a central location is surprisingly quiet particularly with the double glazing . We usually sleep with the window open but slept quiet comfortably with it closed because there is plenty of air circulation with the high ceilings. It is also very comforatable and warm on the chillier nights because of great central heating. The breakfast you pay for is traditional but you can pay for an enhanced version, what you get is from an excellent establishiment with good coffee and excellent pastries. We would return without hesitation. Thank you for your part in what was a great holiday.

I had a wonderful time staying at Olga’s bed & breakfast. The location was excellent and very convenient; it’s very near and walking distance to all the major points of interest in Florence. I really liked that I was given a coupon to have breakfast at one of the nearby cafes, instead of eating at the b&b. It was a good way to start the day to see and stand next to the locals having the same pastries and cappuccino as I was. The host was very friendly and helpful. He was very welcoming and always asked if I needed any help with directions, etc. There are 80+ steps that you must climb to reach the b&b. It was very good exercise after eating so much good food, which could be easily found in nearby restaurants. I will definitely stay at Olga’s again if I go back to Florence for another visit.

We visited Florence end of November and stayed at Olga's House. The location of the B&B near Piazza della Signoria is absolutely excellent. You are close to all the major sightseeings. Roberto, who welcomed us, made us feel at home immediately. The room (for three) is simple, but spatious and very clean. And they go the extra mile by providing you with bathrobes. And you don't have to bring you own shampoo. So all in all, we had a wonderful vacation. November can be a great time to visit Florence. There are no waiting lines for all the major museums.

Olga's House's greatest asset is location. It is just a 1/2 block off the plaza the Uffizi is located. Easy walking distance to all of Florence top attactions.Olga has no public areas & breakfast is provided at the restraunt on the plaza. We were very happy with our stay at Olga's House. We read about the B&B being on the 5th floor and there being no elevator to assist with transporting the luggage, but were prepared to deal with it. Others trying to decide on B&Bs should know that there are 80 steps in those 5 floors. The host was quite welcoming and friendly. The location could not have been better--only a few feet from the Uffizi Galleries and a short distance to the Academy. We'd definitely recommend Olga's House to future travelers.

Very friendly welcome. A few little rules to abide by (so don't expect five star hotel service) but not unreasonable given the price and very central location. Great location - very central to everything so you can walk everywhere. The Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio are a 5 mins walk and the Uffizi Gallery is probably 2 mins away.Roberto was a great host and was very helpful with regards to recommending good restaurants etc.Very clean rooms and bathrooms.I would definitely recommend it to friends & family. The only thing that I can see that might be a problem for some(Older couples) is that there are about 80 steps to get to the B&B and there's no elevator. It worked out just fine for me as I needed the excercise after eating great food at the nearby restaurants everyday!

Dear Roberto, I promised you the day that I left that I'd write a review of Olga House. It took me 5 years, but I'm keeping my promise. :) As you can imagine, my memory isn't that fresh, but I do recall there being a lot of stairs to climb, which my friend and I took in stride and made it our daily joke. You told us a story about an older gentlemen who suffered a heart attack but your stairs made his heart stronger, so there was no way we could complain. I also remember you giving us a lot of helpful information about how to get around and where to eat. Including giving us little cards with smiley faces that we could use for breakfast at a restaurant around the corner. The location was very impressive and so close to everything we wanted to see. One of our friends couldn't make it, so we had the triple room for the two of us. It was very spacious and well kept. I see from the photos that there have been upgrades, so I'm happy that you're still in business. Your city is lovely, and I have fond memories of my stay there. Thank you for making my stay pleasant, I'll cherish my memories forever.

Roberto is a treasure. He's always available and is so willing to be of service. For example, we asked him about visiting the Piazzale Michaelangelo and right away we had bus schedules and other information. He even got up at 6:00 A.M to help us carry our bags down the 80 steps! The location is wonderful, right on the Piazza della Signoria ...close to the Ufizzi and within easy walking distance (ten minutes or less) of the Duoumo, Galleria dell' Academia, the Ponte del Vecchio, Santa Croce. Breakfasts are around the corner at a wonderful restaurant with absolutely delicious pastries and great coffee. We would definitely recommend this to other travelers....just know that there are 80 steps, but even at our ages (late 60's) it was not a problem. Great value for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at Olga's. It was in a perfect location and totally worth the money. We did experience a power outage, after plugging in our cell phone to charge. Even with the European adapter! However, that was a very small issue. Roberto was very friendly and we would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. Of course, anyone in good shape who can climb the 80 steps!

It was a wonderful stay, we enjoyed very much. But one advice PACK LIGHT. YOU HAVE TO CARRY YOUR OWN LUGGAGE AND THE B&B IS ON THE THIRD FLOOR.

Once you get up the VERY daunting eight flights of stairs you will find a wonderful, modern and clean room. The staff could not be more chatty or friendly. English is pretty good. If you want a big breakfast in your room you'll be disappointed because an Italian collazione (coffee and a croissant) is offered at a nearby cafe as part of the tariff. This is not for people with a lot of heavy luggage or who cannot handle climbing stairs. I will return because of the lovely owners and the incredibly convenient location.

Roberto was extremely welcoming and explained briefly what was expected of the guests. His rules were extremely simple. He helped with any questions and also had extra guide books if you needed them. The rooms were extremely clean and in a location that was amazing. I would stay at Olga's House again and recommend it to anyone.

My friend and I had a great time in Florence, the B and B's quality, location and hospitality of Roberto enhanced our stay ten fold and I would have no hestiation in recommending this accommodation. The only reason I would not recommend this B and B to mature travelers or those with small children would be due to the stairs leading up to the accommodation.

Olga's house is very clean, new and well-maintained by the dedicated owner. Attention is paid to every aspect: hair dryer, bath rope, slippers and towels are all provided, definitely more than what one would get from a typical B&B. The location is central to major attractions, like 30 seconds from Palazzo vecchio/Piazza della Signoria; and yet the room is very quiet. I have received very welcoming hospitality from the owner. The ride to airport is arranged promptly. Highly recommended!!!

With the one caveat of ensuring you know that there are 80 steps up to the entrance of the this gorgeous B&B, you cannot find a better location or price in Florence. I have stayed in Florence for over 30 years and this is unquestionably the finest value for dollar spent in that city.

Lovely accommodation just a few steps from Piazza della Signora and the Uffiz. The climb up the steep 80 steps was worth the excellent value for money this place represents, but not for the unfit. Room was modern and spotlessly clean,in an old style building that had all the character of Florence. The owner could not have been more helpful. The breakfast arrangement at a local cafe was different but worked well. I would not hesitate to use this accommodation again.

Amazingly clean and neat room with a good bath facility. Hot and strong shower refreshed me very much, which I didn't expect to find in Italy especially in such old buildings. Robert's hospitality was so great that to make me mentally relaxed also.

Great location. Nice staff - friendly and helpful. Downpoint for me, is the number of stairs required to climb to get into the B&B. Anyone with any mobility limitation should not consider this accomodation as there are over 80 stairs to climb. I would not stay here again due to this obstacle.

Great place to stay. The only thing you should be aware of, is that there are a lot o steep steps and no elevator. So if you have lots of bagages, have a little baby, or have some problems to move... you will need some help.

We really enjoyed our stay. Given that Olga's is right beside the Piazza della Signoria it was extremely quiet. The windows have double glazing and it kept the noise out which was important for us. The location couldn't have been more ideal - no matter where we went in Florence, it was always easy to pop back and get a jacket or leave something in the room.

My husband & I had an excellent stay at Olga's House. The place was nice & close to a lot of tourist attactions. Roberto was very great! He was attentive and extremely helpful. He gave us wonderful tips and restaurant suggestions. He even found us train schedule without having us to ask (just to make sure that we didn't have to waste our time at the train station waiting!) I would recommend Olga's House to all tourists visiting Florence! One thing is: they're on the third floor and there's no elevator. (Well, you need to walk a lot while you're in Florence anyway! Walking up the stairs actually wasn't that bad!)

We were so pleased to stay at the Olga's House. Roberto's hospitality and care given towards was so special, which you cannot have in a big hotel or even at a five star hotel. Breakfast was provided by one of the most famous cafes in Florence, which locates just around the corner. The location of the hotel was also excellent and yet the room was quiet. My friend and I had such a great stay that we want to come back again. Thank you.

Olga's House is a gem right in the midst of the Piazza della Signoria area. The location is perfect, the rates very reasonable, and the service excellent. Roberto is an engaging and truly helpful host. The accommodations themselves are not fancy, but everything is clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a great bargain near the Palazzo Vecchio, I highly recommend Olga's.

We loved Olga's House: clean, spacious, well-appointed rooms. Very convenient for everything we wanted to see in Florence. Very helpful owner was able to help us with parking in a secure garage (streets are pedestrianised and public parking not safe). Breakfast by voucher in one of the nearby cafes, absolutely fine. Highly recommended.

The owner Robert was wonderful to us and went way above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay (directions, local interests, helping to carry luggage, helping to book a hotel for the following week, etc). The only problem was that I was unaware there were a few flights of stairs to reach the hotel and was travelling with my 80 year old mother. But if you don't mind stairs, this is a GREAT place to stay for the money.

Location location location!!! Great location, right on the Piazza Signorina. Very warm and gracious host couple. Roby will do whatever it takes to make you comfortable and welcome. Some of the best a/c and showers we experienced in three weeks of travel in Italy. However, there is one thing you need to make sure you are aware of.....There is no lift and the hotel is on the 4th floor (actually 5th). There might be "50 ways to leave your lover" but there are 80 steps to Olga's House. Pack light....It is worth the climb. There is WIFI but intermittent coverage and only from certain "hot spots." The breakfast is served about a third of a block away at a local restaurant/bar on the Piazza Signorina.

Location was excellent. Breakfast is not on the premises, and we had to spend our own money in order to eat a decent breakfast. Room was very quiet, lots of hot water, beds were comfortable but narrow. Some rooms were tiny. The proprietor was not as helpful as we would have preferred. There are 80 steps up to the room, no elevator. So pack light or find a place with an elevator. No public area to sit in.

Olga's House is a well-maintained place right in the heart of Florence. Roberto is a nice, friendly guy. He tries to stay on top of things and provide the best service he can. We enjoyed our stay. It was short, just for 1 night.... so, we didn't need to go up and down the stairs too many times!

We stayed in the triple room (3 twin beds). Roberto was very helpful with our luggage and any questions we had. I would recommend Olga's to anyone traveling to Florence! The location was close to areas we wanted to see. Note of warning: many steps to reach Olga's on the 3rd floor. This would not be appropriate for anyone with limited mobility.

We really enjoyed our stay at Olga's House. He was very welcoming and friendly. We only stayed there one night, but we wish we had more time in Florence. The location couldn't be better. The windows are sound proof when they are closed. We had our window open for a few hours at night and just listened to a musician in the square, it was really nice. Awesome location. We were able to roll out of bed and be in the Piazza de Signoria in 30 seconds! The Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and other sites just minutes away. Great manager. Roberto could not have been more helpful. He accommodated all of our requests. The amount of stairs is daunting - although with the way we ate in Florence - the extra exercise was good!

My nephew and I stayed at Olga's House in mid-February 2006 on our way to the Winter Olympics in Turin. It is the only place that I consider when staying in Florence. I have booked here twice before and will book here again when I head back to Florence. Location is absolutely the best and Roberto is a very welcoming host. He also recently remodeled the rooms which are nicely appointed, clean and very large. You can't go wrong staying here.

Olga's House is in a wonderful location-a ten minute walk to the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio is just around the corner and the Uffizi is a few steps across the Piazza!I couldn't ask for anything better on my first trip to Florence.Roberto was very hospitable and helpful with things one should know. The coffee and croissants at the Cafe Rivoire were a great way to start the day.The room was very comfortable thanks to the air conditioning( the temperature was in the high 30's)The stairs, which went on and on,wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been so hot out. I would stay there again.

We had a great stay in Firenze due in part to Roberto and his B&B. Highly recomended due to quality of accomodations and Roberto's help. Only really bad thing about the B&B is the insane amount of stairs (80!) to get to the B&B -- there's no lift in the building.

This was an excellent place to stay while visiting Florence. The location could not be any better to the main attractions and train station (only cost €6.00). Olga's house was a perfect spot from which to see Florence. It is in the immediate vicinity of the Uffizi, but high enough above the street, that you can retreat from the crowds back to your room. Our only disappointment was that a double room was not available and we had 2 single beds pushed together, which we were not clear on when we booked. It was lovely to get to know our host a little and his advice was great.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Olga's House. The owner, Roberto, is like a host welcoming you into his home. He cares about the comfort of his customers, and he is happy to offer recommendations for getting around Firenze and the area. I loved the quality of the cappuccino and cornetto breakfast at the nearby Cafe Rivoire -- and the flexibility it added to my schedule. If you want to be in the midst of the action at the Piazza della Signoria, you couldn't ask for a better location. Noise at night was not an issue -- I just closed the double-paned windows. Decor of my room (the single) was spare, but very comfortable, new, and well-designed. As for the stairs, don't worry about them. They're just a nice built-in workout. Roberto was happy to help with my luggage, coming and going. FYI, my taxi fare to the train station was 8 Euros.
