This B&B is recommended by my friend who stayed in it 10 yrs ago. This is my first time to stay there for 2 nights. The owner was very friendly and she gave details in introducing the B&B facilities & nearby tourist sites. The location is excellent for transportation, including train and bus. Many tourist sites and shopping areas are within the walking distance. The room is spacious and clean. Toilet is clean also. My wife particularly liked the kitchen which she could use the microwave and stove. There was skypy phone and free computer with internet service, so I could make free phone calls to Hong Kong. There were two surprises for us. Firstly, there was no breakfast provided although we expected it should be included when we booked the room. Secondly, an instruction note was posted on the front door when we arrived and it asked us to do the check in from another B&B which was located in an opposite block (I personnally think this arrangement is OK.)

Nice place to stay. VERY close to the train station, convenient location. Fantastic amenities: WiFi worked, Computer w/internet provided, satellite TV, and IP phone to call US for free. Rooms functional and clean, but not aesthetically very nice. Kitchen and laundry (washer only) available, but it broke down but was fixed same day. The proprietor Marco was very personable and genuinely helpful, but he is off site mostly running his multiple other B&B's. He was easy to get a hold of on his cell and quickly came when called.

Room was very close to the train station less that a 5 min. walk. Convenient to buses, tours, restaurants and shopping. Most sites could be accessed within a 20 min. walk. We had a room with a balcony. Needed to keep the doors shut at night for quiet, but with the air conditioning this was no problem. Breakfast placed in room every night was nice. Would recommend this place to stay.

We stayed in Maison De Charme for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay there. The B&B is only 5 minute walking distance from train station which is very convinient for people traveling by train. It is located in the center of Florence and we walked to most major attractions. The satff is warm and professional. The room is clean and comfortable. we will definitely stay again.

The B&B was 5 minutes away from Santa Maria Novella train station where the coach service from Pisa Airport terminates. It was very easy to find and unlike many small establishments benefits from a lift-albeit small !! 7 minutes walk from the duomo and a similar distance from the mercato centrale. Even the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio were only a 15 minutes leisurely stroll. The circular 12 and 13 bus routes- clockwise and anti around the city with a viewpoint over the city from piazza Michaelangelo - are picked up around the corner just pass Macdonalds. Only 1.20 euros for the ride. Also very central for buses and trains to Siena and San Gimignano. All in all everything we expected plus the advantage of a fantastic central location.

I definitely recommend this B&B in Florence, the staff is very friendly, the hotel is very well located walking distance to everything, the train station is around the corner (Firenze SMN), breakfast is good (the best we had in our stay in Europe in 3 different hotels. Two advices if you plan to stay here: they have a very small elevator (Only one person and one pice of lugage each time). Second, they share the building with some other businesses including another hotel, when finding Maison de Charme don't look for a big sign on front of the building, look for a small metallic plate attached to the wall on one side of the front door, the name of the other hotel is on another metallic plate on the other side of the door.

Very central location, i mean 2 minutes on foot from the train station. We had a good size balcony to take naps on in the afternoon just above a little market with typical city noises. All tourists attractions are very very close on foot, and even the central points for tour buses. Big bathroom inside room. We would go back there for sure.

Little tricky to find (the road does not appear on most maps) but very close to the station. On a busy street so a little noisy but par for the course in Central Florence. 500 yards from the open bus routes, best way to see Florence and take the time to visit Fiesole and its relative serenity!

The location was excellent. It was only 3 minutes walk from a train station. Therefore, we had no choice about the noise. It was OK. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke English well, much better than me. The room was clean and wide. Breakfast was OK. We could eat anytime from a prepared tray. (Packed croissant, crackers, jam, butter, yogurt, fruit juice, instant coffee, instant cappuccino and tea) We could also drink espresso from the machine at the corridor. There was a safe in the room. It was very useful. My only concern was inside the shower cubicle I felt it was not clean. (Only me, my husband was OK with it.) The wall was a little bit slimy on some parts. It seemed not to have been cleaned by a brush. I may be very sensitive. In addition, I felt I found some mold. I couldn’t take a shower until last. I complained about it the next day, the staff apologized very politely. That night was ok. Overall, I liked it there. I may stay again.

Hotel was very secure, (4 locks to get to room) and in an easy to reach location. Biggest issue was no hot water in the morning on the two days we were there. Had to take showers at night. Overall we liked the place and would stay there again.

A lovely place to stay - close to rail station and city centre; with warm, friendly staff. The room was spotless and attractively simple, with a breakfast tray for morning. Photo does not help identify it, and it is hard to find - but don't let this put you off - it is worth it. Make sure to download the map.

A very welcoming place and good value for money. Although located close to the train station which was convenient, it was on a noisy and busy street, which our room faced. The elevator was a bit small and does not hold more than two people (without luggage).

The Maison de Charme was in a very central location and great for walking around florence and catching our next train - that can not be beat. The room was spacious, clean, and the balcony provided great entertainment for people watching. The room was fine for the one day we stayed, but the breakfast left much to be desired, but there was breakfast. A tray already arranged when we arrived with a croissant, some crackers, jam, and coffee. We did enjoy our evening sleep - which was what we planned on using the Maison de Charme for.

The hotel was very easy to find, litterly across from the train station and walking distance to most sites. If you are in Florence to be a tourist, this hotel is in a good location. Because of the location, you will get a lot of traffic noise (bus, cars, people, etc...), which we were aware of from the reviews on the site.

The Maison de Charme was indeed charming. The entryway was a little seedy, however, and the elevator was only big enough for 1 person with luggage. But once we got to the 4th floor we were warmly greeted by Claudia and pleasantly surprised by our room. It was very clean and we even had a mini bar, so we were able to refrigerate some groceries for breakfast. The room had air conditioning, which is a must in late June.

We arrived later than expected and the kind lady waited up for us. Small elevator does'nt always work, but I don't mind stairs. Room was very clean and the balcony was nice. However, the breakfast was pre-packgaged and seemed more like a snack. Overall I was satisfied with my stay. The Internet system and reservations really helped make things easier.

A gem of a place. The location was perfect, right around the corner from the train station (the directions from one of the previous reviews help a lot!), and the air conditioning and fairly large rooms made our stay wonderful. We were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony, which only added to the experience. The woman there was also very helpful and informative, and spoke more English than many of the other places we stayed. Thanks for the great stay, and I would definately stay here again if I were lucky enough to go back to Florence!

More like a hotel than a B&B! Our room was lovely, and we got an ensuite air conditioned room, with balcony as requested. It's on quite a busy street, but a shutter outside the window can be closed to block out most of the noise. Great location, right around the corner from the train station and a few minutes walk from the center of Florence. The room was cleaned, beds made up and fresh towels and breakfast left every day. We could pay by credit card too, which alot of other B&Bs in Italy don't seem to do. The room also had a safe for storing our valuables. It seems to be run more as a business than a home, we got a lot of privacy. We will definitely stay there again if back in Florence.

This was my second trip to Florence and my second stay at Maison de Charme. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculately presented and maintained. I requested room number 1 which has a lovely balcony over looking the street below. There is noise from the traffic during the day but this is not a problem at night. The location is great as it is just one minute away from SMN railway station and bus links that serve Pisa airport and great day trip destinations such as Siena and Lucca.

The location was very convenient to the train station, about a five minute walk. The street is not the quietest, there was road construction right near the building and the main street where our room was is apparently a hang out for late nighters (We were awakened by a couple having a screaming contest at 2 AM). Breakfast was basic, but we already knew that when we arrived and made sure that we had late night snacks or fresh crossaints that we bought at a local bakery. I think this was the place with the tiniest elevator possible. Room was rather cold at night. Overall, it was nicer than expected, the room was clean and modernly decorated. Just be aware of the noise and that people hang out near the main entrance.

Overall it's a good value B&B, Marie was kind and helpful, giving us the map and quick intro of Florence. Marie - Congratulation for your new born grandson again! The room was clean. It may not be quiet at night as it located on the main street which many buses & cars passing by all night. Unfortunately during our stay, there was a road contruction in front of the property so we woke up by 7 am. every morning by the sound or drilling machine. Anyway, it's not anything the property could do. The location was very convenient, only 5 mins walk from train station and since Florence was a small town, you can practically walk everywhere! The breakfast was basic, prepacked croissant with a bottle of fruit juice, enough to fill you up until noon. Highly recommend to anyone who seek for basic/budget hotel with nice hospitality.

The rooms are clean and pleasant. The furniture is nice. The bathroom was in excellent conditions and well-equipped, with hair dryer inclusively. The location is wonderful, close to the train station. The breakfast is included but it is put in a basket every night in your room (prepackaged toast and croissants, sorted fruit jam, cream for the coffee), you must do the coffee by yourself. The room, at least one of which has balcony, has a small refrigerator that, if you travel with a fit budget, is ideal so that you can buy something in the market (it is close). Ask for room #1, that has a nice balcony with view to Santa Maria Novella Church

This was a wonderful place to stay, great location and friendly employees. However, it is a bed a breakfast, so there is no one available to answer phone calls or give information after 9:30p. So count on using pay phones to receive phone calls, or get a calling card, because the phone call has to go through the staff to make it to your room, there is no direct phone number. Also, take advantage of the safe, and the airconditioner, it is wonderful. The breakfast is good, but very light, so if you are a big eater plan on eating somewhere or something else as well. Overall, this was a wonderful and hospitable place to stay. The owners speak english very well, so there is also no problem communicating with the staff.

Maison de Charme was a very nice quaint property with a very good location close to the train station. Its a small property (only 6 rooms) and very clean. The rooms are a good size for Italy. Request one of the two rooms with a balcony so you can take your lunch to go and eat it overlooking the street goings-on, instead of having to pay the "table rent" at all italian restaurants/cafes. Like everyone else says, the included breakfast is close to nil but you wont have a problem finding something good and cheap on the street. I would recommend this property because its nice and a good price.

This small, somewhat hard to find, hotel is conveniently located around the corner from the train station and within easy walking distance of the Duomo and other Florence sites. Very reasonable, clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff. At night, the area is a little scary with open drug deals and use but no one bothered us and the convenience of the location made it worthwhile. Shares a building with other small hotels so look carefully for the small sign. Very small elevator was a god-send.

Eerything was fine, except the noise from the street. I recommend earplugs. The breakfast was a bit palstic, as expected. Big bathroom was a defenite plus. The actual address of the B&B was "largo" instead of "via", mentioned on the web site, so it was a bit difficult to find from a turist map.

The rooms were very well appointed and we even had a balcony! Very clean and modern bathrooms, with a TV, fridge(mini bar) and safe. If you take the train to Florence this has to be the most convenient place to stay ... only one block from the train station. Easy walking to all major attractions. Can see Santa Maria Novella from the balcony. A little noisy at night (street noise) but that was something that I doubt the owners could change. Very charming.

An excellent B&B. Very small but obviously well maintained. From previous reviews I was expecting Maison De Charme to be difficult to find but this proved to not be the case (perhaps we got lucky?) From the station, exit through the bus station area and cross the road and turn right. When you get to McDonalds on the corner turn left. Maison De Charme is about 100 yards on your left (look for the brass plaque!). Both rooms were clean and well decorated, our bathroom was particulary nice. Highly recommended.

This was a very charming B & B, with an excellent location (very cloes the train station and within walking distance from the Duomo, Uffizi gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Academia, etc. etc.) and an excellent staff! Its just a great place!! The room was very charming and very spacious with a balcony and a good view. The only drawback was that there is no breakfast even though it is a B&B, but we knew that before hand before we made the reservation, so no complaints! :-) There is a great cafe just across the street with some great paninis and sandwiches and great coffee and some refreshing fruits if you are making a trip in the summer! Maison De Charme made our stay very pleasurable and we would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Florence!

Great room, great location, fantastic balcony! If I hadn't read previous reviews, it would have been difficult to find, but I knew it has only a small brass sign and shares the building with other hotels. Depend on using the address to find the place. It is on the 4th floor (does have a tiny lift). Very friendly, super clean and spacious room. Great location (right across street from train station). It was a great experience for a great city at a very reasonable price. Oh - and like previous notes say, "breakfast" is hot chocolate, tea, or coffee. I also knew that before I booked, so I personally wasn't disappointed.

We had a good time staying at Maison de Charme. Couple issues. We had a hard time to find the place. Also it was a big problem to park the car. Another inconvenience is that despite it is advertised as a B&B breakfast is not served. In general it is conveniently centrally located, especially if one is traveling by train, and fairly priced.
