Bed and Breakfast Leone X - Florence

As a mature couple determined to use local transport (bus and train), the hotel was about 15 minutes walk from the station, which was good. There were a lot of steps to climb to the 4th floor and no lift. We managed adequately though.

Very nice staff. The relationship between price and quality is ideal. Clean rooms. For one night is the best solution. The only one thing to improve - describtion "how to find the hotel". It was quite difficult to find the hotel.

Is not really near the centre, breakfast was poor and organized in neiborhood caffe bar (distance cca. 400m) where you can choose coffie and small pastina, withoud juice !! The room was nice with all facilities.

Alessandro and Maria is the most welcoming front of the house owner! The place was clean and perfect for the price. We were four women traveling abroad, our room was very spacious! Saved us a lot of$$$ and had plenty to spend dining out. Thanks Ale and Maria!

The Owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is particular good, plenty of breads, hams and different kind of drink are offered.

This B&B stay was not good. We arrived at 12.10 ( we said 12.00), and there was noone there, so we dialled the numbers and a man said he would be there in 5 minutes. 35 minutes later he arrived. 'I've made a mistake with your booking.' He said, you have to go to Hotel Fedora, which is better than this one. We went along to the other hotel, and he left before we had seen the room. We went into the room, it was very tatty and not very well kept, but could be worse...then we saw the bathroom. It was less than 1.5m by 1m. There was a hole in the floor for a shower cubicle, and if you someone wanted to use the toilet at the same time, they would get very wet. Not nice when you arrive in a hot city, wanting to freshen up...when we had to use it later, we had to put towels down to soak up the water...then you had to be very careful if you wanted to use the toilet. This bathroom was last changed about 1952 I would say! Next day we arrived at this place, and when we began to complain about the bathroom, the wife/ owner she became angry and said to my partner that we would be in the street as she didnt want to take us in. I spoke to the Italian husband the next day when I saw him, but he said that we should have called him straight away and wasn't able to ammend the price or any other compensation (he told us about restaurants we might be able to get a small discount in). The room we got the next night here was fine, light and modest, the bathroom OK, not the cleanest. But there is noone here most of the day, the breakfast is very poor (there is no fresh bread or home book cakes that I could see, only bread, croissants, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juices, a tart and some crackers and jam). However, the worse part is the owners whose customer service skills I rate at around nil. After we had these discussions, the next morning they seemed in a sulk, barely saying good morning. Nice place, ten minutes walking from the Central Station (without luggage...). It can be tiring for the first time, so, take a taxi when you arrive.. Perfecly for spanish speakers. The uruguyan owner: Meli is quite funny and kind ( and also her husband Alessandro...). And internet is for free ( quite good option if ypu need to work a bit).

The only point which could be enhanced is breakfast. Good ratio quality/price.

El cuarto que utilizamos fue muy acogedor, con baño incluido, muy limpio, con televisor e internet inalambrico. Las personas del hotel, son atentos, muy buenas personas. El lugar muy limpio, te incluye el desayuno que es buffet muy variado y lo tienen desde temprano. Está a unos 10 - 15 minutos caminando de la estación Santa Maria N. 100% recomendable.

Leone X is very nice and comfortable place to stay. Substantial and tasty breakfast. Owners are very hospitable and well-wishing. We would like to back once more to this B&B.

Everything was OK
