The receptionist was very kind to let me deposit my luggages one day before check-in. We had a small double room with the windows facing the railway but as commented also by other travellers, it wasn't noisy at all. The room is clean and wi-fi works well. 5 min.'s walk to the train station but it's a little bit distant from the Uffizi gallery about 15min.'s walk.

Frederica and Marco were awesome! When we arrived she had already prepared a map with several sight-seeing items, dining places, and historical places to visit. She is proud of her city and wants you to see it all. The room was elegant and surprisingly quiet being right above a street. It is only about 400 meters from the main train station so an easy walk from there even with luggage. Breakfast each morning was more than ample and always on time. I would without question stay here again. Absolutely great people.

I was travelling alone and was delighted with my big, comfortable room. The Locanda itself was very quiet and dark. Cristina was lovely; very helpful and welcoming and served a beautiful breakfast. A great location for visiting Southern Tuscany.

The host Marco was the most helpful B&B owner we have ever met. We loved his initial briefing of what to do and see for the two days we were in Florence. His recommendations for reasonable priced, non tourist, places to eat were fantastic. We will definitely return for future stays.

This B&B in Florence is a very good choice for most adults, and the hosts are very nice and well informed. However, we found the neighbourhood a little bit depressing and quite noisy. We were also not too happy with room security: 1)The safe was small and should have been fixed to a wall. 2)The room keys were available to all the guests - as the keys were kept on the reception desk whenever we were out. The water supply was insufficient at peak demand.

Best value for money we had in our entire europe trip. it was in the perfect location for our needs- close to the train station; the host (Marco?) was welcoming and informative; the deco was pleasant in Florentine style. facilities and breakfast was basic but adequate. the thick windows provided adequate soundproofing from the busy main roads. all in all, we got excellent value for what we paid.

The breakfast was bad, it looked old and unappealing, always run out of coffee and we had to wait for the next pot, the worst we had in Italy. Tha shower was very small and unconfortable we got flooded twice drain was bad. As for the people Marcos and Federica great people and very helpfull on everything the third person was new. They should clean up inmediately after a guest has finished breakfast is discusting having to sit on a dirty table. Good Location. First an last stay here.

I had a lovely stay at Marzocco. The room was small but with all the necessary conforts, double windows, air conditioning, led TV with 600 channels available, the bathroom was very nice and the bed incredibly confortable. You need to bring your own toiletteries. Most of all the staff was amazingly interactive and available and they won't let you out prior to giving you a map showing all the musts and the best spots in town. Loved it and highly recommend it.

We had a short but pleasant stay at the Marzocco. The service provided by the hotel staff was FABULOUS, they were the nicest and most accomodating staff in all the hotels we stayed at in Italy. Would definately go back there. The breakfast was also really great.

Wonderful! What a lovely experience. Marco and his staff were so friendly and helpful. Even from our first online booking, he was on the ball and quick as a flash to be of assitance. This man knows how to run a proper B&B. His service based approach was refreshing. Rooms were superb, breakfast fresh and included a variety of delicious goodies. Total peace of mind in recommending this B&B. Thank you Marco!

The location of the hotel was very good - near the train station. The room was a decent size, and the AC worked great! The recommendations of the staff (for restaurants, etc.) were excellent and really improved the experience. The B&B is not managed 24 hrs a day; it was not an issue for us, but something to be aware of. The bathroom was relatively large and clean. Overall, HIGHLY recommended!!!

Room very pretty and several amenities included. King size bed. Quick walk from train station. We would definitely stay here again.

The hosts were fabulous! Really, really helpful and attentive. The room was nice and spacious- more than any other we stayed at in Rome. It is close to the train station so very convenient to that- little bit of a walk into the main part of town. If you open windows the room was a little noisy due to traffic. I was ok with it as background noise. Breakfast was a good fresh assortment of baked items, fruit, coffee and meat & cheese. The breakfast room was lovely, you kind of wanted to hang out there. I would stay here again.

Good location instructions, very close to train station, 20 minute orientation (where to eat, what to see, + free map), good breakfast, competent and helpful friendly operators...... what more could a traveler ask for? We did stay in this B&B two times, and will return again if there would be an opportunity to do so. Zdenek R. British Columbia, Canada

We arrived with friends after a tiring journey from Montreaux by train. We found the b and b relatively easily and were made very welcome, given drinks and a map and information straight away. We had an evening meal in a lovely little local restaurant very near the b and b at the suggestion of the staff and it was really good value with plenty of atmosphere. We went back again the next night. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts at the b and b; the food was good with lots of choice. We also met some interesting other guests. All in all much better than an hotel where nobody talks to other guests. Would definitely recommend it.

The staff is absolutely the best assets of the BB. I got a map with restaurants, cafe and gelato shops and they are all wonderful. My husband and I had a pleasant stay in Florence, thanks to the guidance given by Il Marzocco. Location is probably the only disadvantage but the BB well worthes the extra mileage we walked.

We stayed in Florence in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary. Marco is a great host and spent lots of time giving advises about things to see and good restaurants. For a good Italian meal, good service , go to Guelfa, a typical tratoria on Guelfa street close to the train station. We recommend Il Marzocco as it is close to all great monuments and museums and for the warm atmosphere and comfort.

This was the best b&b of our stay. The service and help provided were amazing, from the suggested tour routes, to pre-purchasing museum tickets for us, to the wine and cocktails they provided. Their advice on restaurants put us in some real Italian places with great food. They couldn't have been nicer or done more. The rooms were beautiful, old world, with high ceilings. The breakfast buffet was hugh, and they even cooked eggs if you wanted them. It is within walking distance of railway station, about a 10 minute walk, but pulling bags not a problem. The two things that maybe need mentioned were that this is up two full flights of stairs for those with mobility problems, and this area was not as well kept or clean as the b&b.it is in a very busy area, but noise not a problem.

Excellent stay overall (three days). Warm welcoming with plenty of useful information. Hotel is on a busy street, but acoustically isolated so that traffic noise is negligible. It is few minutes walk to Santa Maria Novella and very well positioned for arrivals by car or train. Parking is expensive in Florence. Hotel garage is 23$ per day, same as parking outside. Nice breakfast!

While the rooms are very nice, Marco who owns the B&B is the real reason to select this B&B. He is absolutely the most knowledgeable and willingly helpful person I have ever encountered in a hotel or B&B. Such a prize is especially valuable in a city like Florence. We booked this B&B because of its location (near the train station) and the warm reviews regarding owner/manager Marco. "Il Marzocco" is two blocks away from the main entrance of the train station where there are supermarkets and small restaurants, all of which are very convenient. However, Marco is not only warm and inviting, he is the quintessential hotel host. Prior to our arrival, he booked museum reservations for us and reconfirmed restaurant reservations, all at no extra charge. He prepared a breakfast that was very generous with much variety. Marco makes great cappuccino! He and his staff were very helpful and ready to answer any questions we had regarding our stay. Outside our room, the traffic was busy and constant, but with the soundproof windows, our room was very quiet. The room and spacious bath were immaculate. We recommend this B&B highly and will stay here again when we return to Florence. We also recommend "La Giostra" for exceptional Italian cuisine with fine service and prices that are reasonable for the restaurant's overall quality. Thank you, Marco, for making our stay in Florence so enjoyable.

Marco was a fantastic and friendly host. We only had one day and one night in Florence so he highlighted all the must see places and good restaurants etc. The BnB is beautifully decorated. Our room was small but it was the only room left and the booking confirmation did indicate that it was a small double, so there were no surprises. It was the last room but it was adequate enough for one stay. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Thanks for being such a fatastic host Marco!
