This is posted as a B&B but does not serve breakfast and did not provide any reduction for this inconvenience. While it is clean and quiet, there was a large vapor streetlamp right outside our window and we were not able to close the window since it was 90+ degrees outside and the air conditioning was not turned on nor would the owner turn it on. This was not one of the worse properties we stayed at but it was close to it.

Accommodation was very pleasant, just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio and historical centre. Roof top restaurant in check-in hotel (opposite side of the street) was really lovely. Only one little issue I forget to consider before, parking facilities are closest at 10 minute walking distance, for 18EUR... :-)

This property was in an excellent location, and its association with La Scaletta made it absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend it highly enough. This was our third trip to Florence, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

This appears to be just overflow accomodation for the much more convenient and pleasant La Scaletta. F. Old Bridge has no reception staff. Any questions have to be answered across the road. We needed to store suitcases for a day and this necessitated carting luggage across the road, up stairs and into the tiny lift. Early in the morning the entry gate to La Scaletta is not always open. We found the 2day experience frustrating and very inconvenient

It was a surprise that this was not actually a usual B&B with some family but excess rooms to a hotel on the other side of the street. The breakfast room and the terrace were very nice, the breakfast itself was also good. And the room was quiet.

Biggest plus is association with Hotel Scaletta across the street, which has a terrace with views of Boboli Gardens. Great value on breakfast.

Our room was nice enough, although smaller than others we stayed at for a similar price. The location was good. It was annoying that the reception and breakfast were across the street at the hotel. It was nice that we could use the facilities like the terrace and free internet, but its dissapointing to have to pay for breakfast at a "bed and breakfast" and to have to walk to another hotel to talk with the receptionist. On that note, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She made reservations at the museums for us and gave us a recommendation on where to eat. We enjoyed our stay, but I would only recommend it if you are on a budget.

My husband and I had a nice stay. The advertisement made it look like you were staying on the bridge but obviously you can't do that. The room had no view but was clean. The breakfast should have been no charge but still we would not choose it. We would stay again but maybe across the street where we checked in and the views might be better. The location was excellent.

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Twin std room rather large for Italy, I found it to be very comfortable. Only problem was lack of hot water a couple of days. Use of a computer was very nice and excellent views from the main hotels rooftop terrace/bar area. Overall I was very pleased with hotel, location and staff. Rooms really do look like picture, not fancy but very clean and my room large, bed even comfy. I would recommend this hotel.

I was a little distraugt because the rooms pictured on the websites made it seem like they were these large spacious rooms with high ceilings. They were not. They were big enough to be comfortable. The staff was very helpful. They arranged tickets for us for the major museums in advance. They also had free internet available - however it was accross the street. Nice place overall, I would stay there again.

A really good place to stay if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep at night, which doesn't cost a lot of money. Our room was nice and clean with a really nice bathroom, nicer than the rest of the room actually, and it was more than enough for us. The airconditioning made a lot of noice, but since our room was facing the yard we didn't get any noice from outside. When we stayed there it was cheaper (5€ per night) to pay cash than with card, so bring a lot of cash, and definately ask for a room towards the yard!

We really enjoyed our stay at Florence Old Bridge. We were concerned about street noise, because of comments by others and location. Of all the places we stayed Florence Old Bridge had the least amount of street noise of any, almost none! The rooms were nice, clean and larger than most. The location is great for seeing the city center of Florence, nothing is more than a 5 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. Thanks so much for such an enjoyable stay! We have stayed at several other hotels in Florence and this was by far the best! At 65 euros per night this was a great find. We would stay again. It is not clear from the check in instructions that all check ins are at the La Scaletta Hotel # 22 across the street. Not a big deal, but nice to know if you plan to stay there.

This property is in a very good location, where major sites are within walking distance. Basically, I walked to everywhere from there. The room is very clean and exceptionally quiet, though it is inside a residential building on a very busy street. The drawback is it doesn't provide breakfast, but I still think the price is reasonable given its location. In fact, the cafe (called Miaoli) opposite the building offers very good coffee at reasonable price (1.1 euro), good for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Pls remember check-in needs to be done in Hotel Scarlett, which is inside a building opposite to this property.

Everything as expected, after all I was looking for an affordable B&B. Do however watch out for the breakfast coupons for the pastry downstairs... it means you can have what listed for €6 instead of the highly overpriced tags on the menu (not a very good deal anyways). Staff was extremely courteous for allowing the entrance to the city's centre (restricted traffic)!!

Yes, this is the first time we've stayed at the Florence Old Bridge. "Bed & Breakfast" is a little misleading as there is no included breakfast. Our stay here was excellent and comfortable with the surprise of a courtyard terrace... though that was a mosquito magnet which injured a couple of us pretty badly. Honestly, my only complaint is the lack of fresh towels until after the 3rd day by hotel policy. We stayed 3 nights on the towels we had and it would been nice to at least have a couple fresh ones near the end when things were just damp and unfresh.

The only thing that I did like about this booking is that we had originally booked 2 triples. We had someone who backed out last minute but Venere said that we couldn't change from two triples to a double and a triple. We would have to cancel our reservations and rebook. That was VERY disconcerting since we were leaving in two weeks! Actually, it was just rediculous. We found a way to work around it withOUT the help of Venere, otherwise it's a good site.

This hotel was in an excellent situation. Right in the Ponte Pecchio area, surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars etc. Yet was quiet at night! There is no reception as such as it is in fact an annex of the main hotel ,over the road. But , the staff are there in the mornings until 2pm. A very warm welcome greeted us here. The room was spacious ,furnishings were rather dreary( but given the benefits of this great little place , who cares?) very secure too. I have walking problems at present and this hotel was excellent due to its central location. Would happily revisit.! Excellent!

Great B&B. It is like to have your own little place. Nobody bothers you, you feel quite independent. The fact that this is mostly a Bed with no Breakfast is a plus, considering the quality of breakfast you generaly get in Italian B&B. There are plenty of good cafes around. Wonderful location!

Florence Old Bridge was fantastic. It was in a great location - easy access to everything, but slightly out of the way and not always crowded with tourists. Sylvie, the person who ran the reception while we were there, was quite helpful and kind. The room was very clean, fairly large, and relatively in expensive. We will definitely return if we go back to Florence.

in general I can only say that I have really expeced a quite room - all informations has indicated this info - after it was a big surprise that 2 of these rooms are the loudest rooms I have ever slept. unfortunately I was booked in one of them - if you like to have the sensation that vespas, cars and trucks are crossing your bed .... then welcome here in ROOM 1 or 2 - so pls. note: quite rooms are 3-5 and C- D-/ staff was quite nice and friendly -they tryed also to change my room. another thing is that I'm missing something what I have taken with me - it was not so expensive but I'm a little angry about it because after reflecting I'm sure that it was taken away - so for me it was the last time there.

Well located 100 metres from Ponte Vecchio. While this is simply a room + shower/toilet (ie: no breakfast facilities) this is not a problem as there are many places to grab a quick bite to eat fro breakfast just across the road. One thing for improvement is that it needs coffee/tea making facilties in the room (none provided at present).

I was extremely pleased with this hotel. It is simple, but very clean, spacious and new. Attention to detail is apparent. I felt safe here as a solo female traveller. I always find that I get more quality rooms for my money in Florence than in Rome and other European cities I have travelled to. This was no exception. Staff was very friendly and helpful with questions. I will definitely stay here again. Grazie!

For us, the hotel situated in the hart of Florence old town within walking distance to all attractions, was excellent. Our room was nice and quiet, just as we asked for when booked. My husband and I stayed at the Florence Old Bridge for 4 nights in March 2005. Cosimo, the proprieter, was welcoming and very helpful upon our arrival and throughout our stay. He even sent me train schedules from Rome to Florence to help us plan our arrival. Our room was spacious and very quiet, despite the busy street from which you enter the building. The rooms were very clean, with a comfortable bed, and plenty of room for our luggage. The only aspect of this B&B that I would mention to people is that all of the rooms are off of one central hallway, so you can hear the sounds of people coming and going, but this wasn't an issue for us. We loved the location of the B&B--away from the masses of tourists on the other side of the Arno, yet a quick walk to all of the sights. I will definitely stay at FOB again--than you Cosimo!

Well I was a bit suspicious of the price and the photo. I had never booked an online hotel room before and never one in Florence. The Florence Old Bridge is indeed in the very heart of the City. It is a stone throw away from the Ponte Vechio and not far from any of the museums or shopping areas. The room itself was clean and the maid came each day to make the bed and clean the room. My cousin came down from Switzerland and had the room next to me. Her room which was the larger had a lovely fireplace, sumptuous bathroom and tub and a little balcony. The views from the room are nothing special----the backside and balconies of others apartments. This, however, was a good thing for although I was in the heart of the city. The room was quiet and I slept well. There was one day when the heat went out due to a problem in the whole building. Cosimo took care of things and was very understanding and accommodating and by the time we came back from traveling arround the City, the problem was fixed. I would recommend Florence Old Bridge to anyone who is looking for a moderately priced yet lovely stay in the heart of Florence.

Lo consiglio a chi vuole visitare Firenze arrivando in treno in quanto il parcheggio è un po difficile trovarlo. We are very pleased with our accomodations. There were three of us... My sister, my niece and myself. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and room itself were spacious enough for three women. Because we were three women alone... we especially liked the secuirty measures and the nearness of the hotel to the Uffizi Museum and other tourists sites. The hotel staff were knowlegeable and very helpful. When we asked for suggestions for restaurants and explained we would prefer places that were not touristy... where we could have experience of eating authentic Florentine meals ... several suggestions were forthcoming.... all of which more than met our hopes and expectations. One minor less than five rating... The rooms were air conditioning.... but being from Lousiana and Florida... (Our fault) we were expecting.... AIR CONDITIONG .... cool to cold. If we had realized we could not adjust our air conditioning to really chill the room... we probably would have asked if a room with a balcony was available. Again this was just a minor problem... and we adjusted by turning off the air conditioning and opening the windows. A more serious concern for a native Louisianian or probably anyone who is addicted to coffee.... although the web site indicated bed/breakfast ... this service was not available..... there was no problem with no breakfast.... but having to get dressed and wait until at least 7:30 am to get coffee almost made me crazy. Even though there is a cafe directly across the street it did not open until 7:30 am. This problem could be easily solved with a coffee machine. We stayed in a similiar rated hotel in Nice. Hotel Rex and that is how the problem was solved. The Hotel Rex... had a coffee/expresso machine. The coffee/expresso was ok... not the best... but if you are a real caffine addict... it took the edge off until I was ready to dress and leave. Would I return to the Old Bridge Hotel again. Yes. I would probably just buy one of those

Florence Old Bridge is an excellent place to stay. The location is perfect, and since the rooms are in the back of the building, there was very little street noise. Our room was beautiful, full of antique furniture and a great modern bathroom. The staff was so friendly and helpful, not only did they make reservations for us for the Uffizi Gallery; they helped us rent a car and recommended the best restaurant located just a block away. The walls are a bit thin however so we heard many a phone conversations from the room next door. However, I would recommend this place to everyone I know. It is an excellent value.

Overall our stay at Florence Old Bridge was very pleasant. The directions given by Cosimo was right on. It was only a 10-15 minute walk from the train station (but on unevenly paved streets which makes hauling luggage slightly difficult). The room was clean and there was enough space for three single beds. Since our room did not face the street, it was quite quiet. However, since it was during the Euro Cup, and people in the rooms facing the streets did not have very good sleep due to the cheering and honking of cars on the street. But I guess it's not a usual occurrence. The only thing that we didn't expect was that towels were changed every three days, but there is a sign behind the bathroom door saying if you leave the towels on the floor it will be changed, etc. It created the confusion that maybe if we needed to, the towels can still be changed more frequently. I threw some used towels on the floor but the maid actually picked them up and hung them back up. Since I didn't want to use towels that have been on the floor, I went and asked for new towels, explaining the confusion and apologizing. The man in the office begrudgingly gave us three new towels, but made a comment to the effect of "go to a four star hotel if you want new towels everyday" which I thought was an unnecessary and inappropriate comment. Otherwise I have no complaints about this place. In fact, the air conditioning in this bed and breakfast (but it doesn't really include breakfast) was more adequate than other places we have stayed in Italy. For 100Euros per night for three people, it's definitely a good value for money.

Hi! Although this is place (and others) are in the category of B&B, this is not a B&B as you knew in Irland, I mean, this is a B-without-B.Also you must know that you're paying for being near the city center. The employee who gave us the welcomin was very tricky about the time of the checkin, because he was not at the B&B all day long. This place was very nice, and Cosmo at reception was very welcoming. However, the plumbing needs work. This is a set of rooms in a residence, on the third floor like a suite. We arrived around 8:30pm, and the person was gone. They usually are there between 9am and 7pm or so, but they left a message for us to call and came within 15 minutes. Luckily the manager of the restaurant next door was very friendly and when we asked ot call, made the call himself. For the practical information, we were a bit confused by the numbers on the street as it goes up, 10 to 20, then 24, 26 etc... then there is a 110 and then it goes down and there is the #22 we were looking for. Basically, between 20 and 24 is an alley, and 22 is further down the street, so don't be surprised if you don't find it at first. Other than this detail, the place was great, we had a key to go in and out at will, it's a few yards from the old Bridge and the city center, and pretty cheap compared to what we spent in Rome for a much smaller place. Very good spot I would recommend.

The Florence Old Bridge is a fantastic value. No, it doesn't have many frills, such as a hair dryer or safe, but for the money it offers a large, clean room and a wonderful location. So although the property only has 1 star rating it really exceeded what I had imagined. The location was excellent and the staff very helpful. Will be making a visit again!

Eventho' this apartment B&B is in the heart of the city, the service was not up to standard. There is no parking facilities and can be costly parking in Florence. The room was drafty and the extra bed was uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this place. There's no breakfast provided in the price. It was difficult to locate this place.

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is excellent, just off Ponte Vecchio, there are fabulous nearby local trattorias. It was not a problem that breafast was not included because there are so many bakeries & cafes closeby, you can get a latte & a croissant for less than 2E. In LA, you can't even get a latte for that much.

Bathroom too small. Shower stall too tiny. Security good. Breakfast not included in price of room... should have been for the price.

We loved our stay at Old Bridge and we thought Paolo, the manager was wonderful! He was so helpful to us in everyway. He made our stay extra special.

The location is excellent for the price, just on the other side of the Arno within walking distance of old Florence. The room was furnished in old-fashioned European style and had a large bathroom with a shower. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense. It is really an appartment that has been turned into a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. There are no ammenities and the front desk is only staffed during the day. You get a key to the front door and the appartment. We enjoyed our stay at Florence Old Bridge and would recommend it to travelers who enjoy being independant.
