Our accommodation a Firenze da Paolo was wonderful. The clear big room, modern flat, comfortable location at very reasonable price! Paolo is a very kind and amiable person. He showed us the best places to visit and gave the advices about our stay. No doubt, we will choose accommodation a Paolo next time we'll go to Florence.

The place was great. It is a bit off the beaten path and about a good 20 minute brisk walk to the center of Florence but overall was a good price for the money. If you are looking to be closer to the city center this is not the place. I recommend that you have the phone number handy and call when you get there as Paolo does not live there and will have to come let you in. Breakfast is there for you to make and enjoy yourself. Breakfast is not made for you but all the fixings were there...cereal, yogurt, coffee, pastries, nutella, etc... Overall, after getting there and contacting Paolo, it was a great place to stay for the coat. We recommend it.

Very good. The room was large and very well cleaned, and breakfeast was also good. The only problem I found was the distance to the turists atractions. But there was also a bus stop nearby that we could take with no bigger problems.

Nice small place, clean rooms, decent self-service breakfast. There is a washing machine, it's good! ... But it is strange that Paolo had not warned us about ZTL zones in Florence. We did not know that there are areas where no entry at all for travel by car.

Paolo is extremely helpful in making your stay the best possible. The bed and breakfast isn't in the center...but than again you're not paying a center price! The place is easily reached by Bus or Train (Firenze Rifredi station isn't very far) and it's only a 20 min walk to the center. Paolo really makes you feel at home and you are free to use the kitchen and he leaves you all of the things for breakfast so you can eat when you want. Room was very comfortable and the bathroom (we had the shared bathroom) was clean and modern. Highly recommend it for people that don't mind taking the bus or not staying in the center of firenze because it is a great place.

This is a nice place if you visit Florence for a couple of days (more than 2 or 3 days) as an alternative for an expensive hotel. By bus you can reach the center in about 20 minutes. Make sure you inform the owner in advance before you arrive; otherwise you can find a closed door. As we only called him on arrival, we had to wait 20 minutes. We took the room with bathroom. We recommend this room for (mature) couples who want a clean and comfortable room and can't afford/doesn't want to pay an expensive hotel.

Stayed here for 5 nights as we were attendign a wedding in the region. The apartment was fantastic, very clean and spacious! Breakfast was basic but there was plenty of it and i liked the fact that you could help yourself when you were ready...it was just like staying at a friends house - Paulo was very helpful despite speaking little english and explained all the necessities such as the bus stop, shops etc. I would definitely recomend the bus if you are not keen on walking as it takes around 30-40minutes to get into the city on foot. Overall, a lovely place to stay. Thank you Paulo!

We had a wonderful stay at Paolo's - he is the most welcoming, friendly and helpful person you could meet. He made sure we knew where all of the sites were, helped us with buses and was just amazing! The room was huge and very clean. Loads of towels! And as it was our honeymoon Paolo treated us especially well. We loved the 30 min stroll into town and got to know the area really well in the few days we spent in Florence. Thank you Paolo for adding to the magic of our honeymoon!

This is excellent value for the money in Florence (accommodation in Florence is normally on the expensive side). The room and the kitchen are spotless; the owner Paolo is a true gentleman, always pleasant and helpful; and the location is practical with a single bus ride from the train station (10 min on bus #22) or an easy walk (about 40 min). Equally nice is Paolo's cousin's (Marco) B&B close to the Train Station. Marco is also a very fine gentleman and his B&B is equally spotless and fantastic. We've travelled a lot in many places, and this is one of the best deals we've had.

This B&B is an apartment complex. Paolo greeted us at the gate entrance. (which he walked almost a half kilometer) Gave us a lot of info in what to do while in Florence and the number of buses that ran to downtown. Not many things to see around this area, but quiet and spacious. Thanks for the hospitality.

In our honeymoon, it was wonderful to stay in Paolo's the cleanist apartment of the world. Paolo welcomed us with his sympathic manner. My wife still talks about our stay there. Although it is not near to the Firenze center, there are buses 2 mins away. And it is enjoyable to walk to center. We stayed in the Nord room that has a nice balcony, a lot of space, comfortable bed and new furniture. The shared bathroom was very clean and new. Paolo cannot stop himself cleaning a part of the apartment though it is amazingly clean. And he recommended us Za-Za restaurant where we ate the best food we tasted in Italy. Thank you for everything Paolo, hope to see you in again! Tutto molto bene, grazie, arrivederci!

We spent part of our honey moon in Florence. Simply fantastic! The B&B is really good, our room was perfect and the breakfast, despite being simple, was good enough. Paolo is a very nice guy and we have decided where we will stay in the next trip to Florence: Paolo's B&B.

This is a wonderful and incredibly cheap place to stay in Florence! It's a 10min bus ride to teh central station, there are shops (one of them a HUGE supermarket)and cafés. The room was lovely, sharing the bathroom is no problem at all, you can fix your own breakfast (whenever you want), and Paolo was great! The only small disadvantage is that the walls are paper-thin so do bring earplugs in case your neighbours are noisy! (The street itself is very quiet by the way) Big cheer to Paolo!

I highly recommend this bed and breakfast. It was very cheap - but the bedroom was very spacious with comfortable furniture and tasteful furnishings. Sharing the bathroom was not a problem. The owner who met us on the first day was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was selof service so we could eat any amount. A bit far from the centre - but considering the cheapness etc. this B&B is highly recommended.

This was a great B&B, except for the location! Even with a map, directions, and 2 Italians who lived nearby, we had trouble finding it. It's near a bus stop but trying to find your way back is a nightmare. However, it was clean, towels (though rough) were clean and free, and a nice breakfast of bread, croissants, jam, etc was provided. Make sure you have a phone to call when you arrive, or you arrive at exactly the time you specify, as the B&B is unattended and the man must come to let you in.

We really like this B&B, but remind you that you'de better tell Paolo or Marco the time you arrive and get the telephone number of Marco, so you can call him 10 minutes before your arrival in order to open the door, Paolo doesn't speak english nor french, but you can communicate by signatures and maps, very nice b&b, near bus stop, and not that far away from center town (Florence is a very small town)

It's a great B&B! Once You meet Paolo You will never want to sleep any other place just at Him! :) A bit hard to find but once You arrive He's coming and gives You a warm welcome. At the b&B there is everything You need: tourist guides about Florence, a very clean Bathroom and a You'll get a cool breakfast. The bus stop just 200 meters from the B&B, the bus goes directly to the centre. When we left the property He came to say goodbye. Congrats to Paolo we'll return, that's sure! Highly recommended!

This B&B is first, really cheap, we were in bathroom shared-double room. even it was sharing, we weren't that diappointed. because price was wonderfully ok, but the room didn't have air conditioner but fan. and after your booking, you should contact with Paolo by e mail about what time you can get there. he isn't always at home, so for good organizion, tell him just what time you would be there, and how to come. from train station, take bus 22, 57 to Boccherini station, it's not far from there. transportation isn't so bad, to the centre it takes around 20-25 minutes. breakfast is really okay, kitchen is opened area so i think you can use kitchen somehow. room is really nice, and the town is also nice, safe. we had really okay trip there.

To summarize, "A Firenze da Paolo" is a great place to stay in Florence!! I would definitely stay in this place again if I visit Florence next time. (1) Pros: Clean / Spacious / Comfortable / Modern / Reasonably Priced - Overall, great quality for the price you pay (2) Cons: Relatively Miscellaneous #1 Difficult to find - If you arrive in Florence at night (e.g. after 9pm), I would recommend you to take a taxi. Then, your taxi driver will take you to this place within 10 minutes. - If you arrive in Florence in the daytime, please take 22 or 57 right in front of Firenze SMN. Ask Paolo about the details. He will kindly answer your question. #2 Difficult to open the door - When you arrive at this place, you will come to see Marco. You have to ask him to show you how to open the door. I had a really hard time to open the door. (but, kind neighbors helped me at last.)

We liked our stay at Firenze da Paolo very much. Some advantages: Paolo is very nice and welcoming, there is a parking (7 euros for 24 hours), the room is spacious, very clean and modern, very cheap, the breakfast is good, and the hotel is only a 10-15 minutes on bus from the centre of Florence (Santa Maria Novella). Some minuses: the air conditioning is not very powerful, Paolo does not speak English at all. We recomend this B&B for those who have a low budget and want to have a pleasant stay in Florence.

Alloggio carino, spazioso e pulito. Colazione sufficiente. Parcheggio invece negativo: il sito non diceva di richiedere già al momento della prenotazione il posto auto, così la prima notte ho parcheggiato in divieto di sosta, pagando comunque il posto auto!

The apartment is ran by two men who also have jobs on the side. We arrived early and had to wait 30+ mins. for someone to show up. The bed in the double room was very very noisy and I don't recommend this place for a couple. You can also hear a lot of conversations in the building and footsteps above. The provided towels were like scratchy sponges and I thought they were floor mats at first. The rooms were clean but it was like stepping into the 70's because the decor was so out dated. There was also no reason to charge us for parking. If you stay here use buses 22 & 57 to get into town. By the way 2 days in Florence in enough time to most of everything.

I booked a double en-suite room. When I was shown to my room there was no en-suite; when I questioned this I was told "But you have private bathroom". The bathroom was in the hall, where anyone could have used it. There was a kitchen sink in the room - not plumbed in. No offer of reduced rate; no appology. On checking out I noticed B&B is split into "Alton Room" and "Alpha Room". I booked into Alton Rooms - the room I was given was in Alpha part. Double booking I suspect. I don't NEED en-suite when I have a room, but I'd like to get what I pay for. I think I booked "a room with a view" as well. Alton rooms had this - but mine didn't! PS Breakfast rubbish - but same as most 'cheep' b&b, couple of slices of Melba Toast, prepacked croissant and coffee.

It's a great place for short stay. The room is large and clean. We can use kitchen at will. Paolo is very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that it's a littly bit far from train station by walk. But you can take bus No. 22 and 57 there. We had good memmory on it.

This B&B is located inside a normal building near the centre of florence (10 min by bus), the place is not impressive but the b&b itself is very tasteful, very cleaned and modern. It is well decorated and spacious. With a small tv set, a varanda. The 'no-no's: the mosquitos. Be prepared! The breakfast is left in the fridge for you to make it the next day! For what you pay for, it should be much better.. and hope for quite neighbours, if not you'll hear everything they'll say...or do. We didn't meet 'Paolo' - whose name is in the title of the B&B- but we had the pleasure of meeting Marco who is a very nice guy! He gave us guides to the city and told us what we needed to know in terms of public transports. The B&B has private parking if you want to pay..but it is safe and not that expensive, compared to what you pay to park inside Florence..

It was my first time in Firenze, but the B&B was very nice. Paolo is a nice person and he explain us everything about the city, like a turist guide. Paolo is a very friendly guy and the room was big and very clean. Firenze is a place where hotels are expensive but for that price I would have expected to be closer to the town center(You can take the bus if you want to)!!!!
