Casa Rovai Guest House - Florence

It was a delight to stay here! The atmosphere was very warm and comfortable, and the breakfast was yummy!

Terrific location, a few blocks from the Duomo.... Terrific hostess, Anna -- charming, full of tips on sites to see and good restaurants (and gelato: viva Vivoli!).

We stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were spacious,although there was noise from guests in other rooms and washing machine across the courtyard. Both were not a problem with earplugs and the airconditioner going. Breakfast was standard for Italy. Arianna was very nice and the location in Florence is excellent. Only problem was the wireless internet only worked with one netbook or device at a time and the private bathroom for the single room was across and next to the reception. We had booked adjoining rooms (a double with en suite bathroom and a single)so I just shared the bathroom in the mornings with my travel companions. Might be a problem for a single traveler in the single room. Parking at the garage up the street from the hotel is 30Euros a night, but standard cost for parking in Florence, so no surprise there.Also, no elevator for those who have trouble with stairs. A pleasant stay and would recommend it for location and the value.

Excellent location, decent buffet breakfast, and extremely helpful host - Arianna. Location kind of hard to find due to no sign on the street, also be reminded there's no elevator.

Interesting building, excellent staff, convenient location. We enjoyed our stay and hope to go back someday.

We loved everything about our stay at Casa Rovai. Everything is great, from the fantastic hosts, the gorgeous room, the facilities, to it's wonderful location close to everything you're in Florence to do. I can't recommend it enough. There is no need to do anymore research if you are a single, couple or group happy to walk a few flights of stairs...you'll love it - no more information needed!

Ariella was wonderful. We were initially somewhat surprised at the many stairs and pensione feeling when( for some reason ) we had pictured more of a hotel. We ended up very glad we'd had the experience of staying at Casa Rovai and will recommend it to friends. We have one good picture and will try to forward it.

A great location near maot everything. Ariana is wonderful- extremely helpful and very personalble. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at Casa Rovai on two different occasions in a 2 week span. It was a good location at a fair price. Arianna was a wonderful hostess and she was generous with suggestions and willing to book taxis and museums, etc. I was very pleased with the rooms, the cleanliness was excellent, the breakfast was very good and typical for Italy. The free internet was especially nice. My stay exceeded my expections and I would definitely go back again.

Our stay at Casa Rovai was calm and restful. Our room was lovely and the view from our window looked on to an inner courtyard with decks and terraces which were covered with flowers. There was a resident cat on the balcony beneath our room. The room and the bathroom were tastefully decorated. Even the towels were elegant. The breakfast room was clean and the display of breakfast foods inviting. There was always a torta di nonna, delicious fruit jams, fresh yogurt and tasty coffee available each morning.The other guests were pleasant and friendly and the staff especially helpful. Ariana and the other staff members were helpful in booking museum reservations for us, in recommending local dining and making sure we had a taxi to drive us to the train station. I would definitely stay at Casa Rovai in the future

I stayed in the room La Passione and it was a very nice room with paintings of the passion of Christ from long ago, maybe the 14c. I had the place to myself and it was very tranquil. It was a great location, near the bus stop for 14 and 23 and several blocks from Il Duomo.

Yes, it worth to choose this property to stay in Florence. No any objections to facilities quality. Everything was good and in excellent condition. It is not already private "B&B" but a real guest house with a hall, reception, dinner room. So we had pleasure to be served all the time as somebody was "on duty" in the house. Our small child was very welcomed. We got a small bed, extra breakfast and some accidental child nursing for free. Arianna helped us with advices and arranged all museums booking for us. A 5-10 minutes walking distance to main attractions is not disadvantage as Florence is a city worth to walk around and also it is proper distance from crouds of tourists and expensive food. Post office, supermarket, self-service washer, plenty of small italian reataurnats (not only pizza-pasta) - everything is close to the property.
