CHECK AVAILABILITY
The B&B Bonsignori lies in the heart of Florence in one of the oldest palazzos of Via Maggio, dated XIV hundred years and offers an informal, friendly and yet private atmosphere.
The B&B offers two spacious rooms full of character, recently lovingly restored to reveal antique decorated timber beams and other original features. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, tv and free internet. Via Maggio is one of the most prestigious historical streets of Florence. A stones throw away from the Ponte Vecchio. Via Maggio, once home to the florentine aristocracy, today houses the most exclusive antique shops, whilst the neighbouring area is bustling with craftsmen’s workshops, shops as well as little markets. The Boboli Gardens, the delightful Piazza S. Spirito and the Uffizi are only a few steps away from the palazzo and, crossing the river, it’s only a short walk to the Duomo, Piazza Signoria and Santa Croce.
The B&B can be found on the second floor of the palazzo. There is no lift.

What a great find this was. We absolutely loved this place e our hosts. Bianca was so very helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. She went out of her way to help us with a car hire issue e she even helped us carry the bags up the stairs. She was definitely the nicest host we've had so far on our travels. We recommend this place to all. Not only are the rooms lovely and spacious, it is in a perfect location to walk to so many of the city's attractions. Thank you also to Elisabetta who we met before we left. You made us feel so welcome. We look forward to our return but will stay longer next time.

Overall we were delighted with our stay at Bonsignori. The host was delightful and the location was very convenient for us. The B&B is very small so people should not expect a lot of space, but it felt like home to us for 3 days. There is n o elevator so your legs and knees need to be able to cope with several flights of stairs.

We had to climb several flights of stairs to get up to the room with poor lighting. But the climb was worth it, and the location great! We could walk everywhere. Some great dinner spots were recommended and a good laundry facility close by. The room was big, clean, and very comfortable for the price. Breakfast was basic, but all we needed. Landlord was very helpful assisting us with taxi, car rental, and anything we needed. Price was very good in comparison to other B&B's we stayed at this trip. I would definitly recommend it to others and return myself.

My husband and I stayed a total of five days at B&B Bonsignori in Florence. We loved our room and the shared breakfast area, with its warm colors and beautifully-appointed details. Elizabetta was a most welcoming host and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Florence--and to staying at the Bonsignori!

Such a delightful way to visit Florence! A lovely bedroom/bath, and your personal kitchen (shared with only one other room)in a genuine fifteenth century building... sweet neighborhood, out of the rush of tourists yet not five minutes away from the Pitti Palace and the Ponte Vecchio. Elizabetta, the proprietor, is very professional and wonderfully accommodating. I would stay here every time I visit Florence. Just make sure you are able to bring your suitcase up two stories of stairs.

Wow! This place was AMAZING! Elisabetta was very nice and helpful. The room was huge and beautiful. There are only 2 rooms in the B&B and I think we had the bigger one. Ours faced the street, which was great for people watching but it did get a bit noisy at night. However, we slept perfectly b/c we were exhausted from touring all day. The breakfast is a feast... Self serve... Cappachinos, juice, meats, cheese, homemade tart, homemade jellys, breads, fruits, cereals, yogurts. Elisabetta doesn't miss a single detail. Her passion for being a B&B hostess is obvious. (Note: it is on 3rd story. So if climbing stairs is an issue for you, need to consider.)

Excellent B&B for a very reasonable price - The owners were very helpful and helped us park our car at 1am! The breakfast was great (home cooked cake, quality products and a great diversity of food and drinks). The rooms / bathrooms are big enough and convenient and the common room is charming. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Florence.

An excellent and well located B & B with excellent hosts and great breakfast.., however we were not lucky enough to get the larger room; the setting is very welcoming and cosy, so much we felt as guests in an Italian house more than anything.., the hosts were very well educated at all times and very considerate when aware of noise making... I will definitively recommend the place to friends and whoever asks, the tiny flaw mentioned on previous reviews is that the smaller room (green) is really small, but it has an in-suite bathroom (well, shower) and it might not be appropriated for those whom struggle with steep stairs, and big steps to get onto the second floor... other than that, the place is idyllic! thanks

The facade of Santo Spirito was the view out our two lovely windows and we could see the sunset each night, as well as hear bells several times a day. This part of Firenze is much less frenetic than across the river, and we liked having a deli, a wine shop, and many good restaurants nearby. The spacious room seemed like a true haven after a day of walking and viewing frescoes. The Web site does mention 3 flights of stairs, but it might be wise to emphasize this will be a struggle for older visitors with too much luggage. Elisabetta and Riccardo were warmly welcoming, helpful, and just plain charming. Our room had a main beam that must have been 16 inches square, and painted geometric decorations on the overhead joists (probably 15c), yet the room incorporated all modern amenities seamlessly. Web site photos did not do it justice. This place is a treasure! Oh, and breakfasts are generous and beautifully set out.

This has been one of the best B&B I have stayed in. We stayed in the green room. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. She gave us several recommendations on where to eat and they were all outstanding. The location is great, just a 5-10 walk from everything. One of our favorite things was the delicious breakfast which you can have at whatever time you like since it's set up the night before. Great experience overall.

We stayed in the larger 'orange' room. Excellent place to stay, great location within walking distance of all sites of interest, lovely traditional rustic feel, nice decorations and room facilities. Staff were approachable and friendly, but also leave you to your own business. Lots of considerate extras such as luggage storage (after check out), restaurant recommendations and a mobile phone available for booking taxis to top off the experience. Cannot recommend highly enough! Only point I would make is that there is no lift, and it is up several flights of stairs. No bother for us, but may be a problem for elder travellers.

We stayed in the orange room, which was absolutely gorgeous. Private bathroom, hot shower, clean bed linens, many electrical outlets to choose from, and a reliable free wifi internet connection. Riccardo welcomed us in, showed us the residence, gave us the low-down on breakfast, provided an abundance of pamphlets/maps, and we were good to go. In addition to the information they provided, there was also an "information cubby" of even more pamphlets, from taxi phone numbers to doctor contacts if needed. A cell phone is always available to make local calls. Breakfast was available bright and early in the common area kitchen. Fresh fruit, bread, individual Nutella/honey packages, homemade marmalade, 2 choices of cereal, meats/cheeses, yogurts, juice, milk, water, tea, andcoffee. A toaster, microwave, and nice coffee machine is available to use. Every morning there was also a fresh baked good/pastry. One morning we even had the option of homemade tiramisu! You can eat in the kitchen or take to your bedroom. Initially we were concerned with staying at a bed and breakfast where the owners actual live on the premises and sharing a common area with another room, but this wasn't an issue. Although we would pass them along with the other visitors every so often, we were on different schedules. Another concern was staying south of the river/Ponte Vecchio. Do not let this hold you back from booking at this bed and breakfast! It is easy to access and within walking distance of everything. We would HIGHLY recommend anyone stay at Bonsignori!

We arrived frazzled and hungry, but Elisabetta welcomed us and helped us find a table at a wonderful restaurant close by on a busy Saturday evening (Il Magazzino). When, not IF, I stay at Bonsignori again, I will reserve the Orange Room; the Green Room is very small for 2 adults. The Orange Room is huge and has a great view of San Spirito. Breakfast was very good and set out silently so it was waiting when we woke up. I love the Oltrarno neighborhood too. B&B Bonsignori is not for those wanting 4-star concierge service. Stay in a fancy hotel on the tourist side for that.

Bianca was truly wonderful and very helpful in every way. The "Orange Room" was very nicely appointed and the bathroom was wonderful. The ceilings were an absolute marvel to see. Bonsignori is perfectly located within striking distance of all the major attractions but tucked far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. It was a great location from which we were able to explore the delights of Florence. The accommodation is made up of two double rooms and a shared kitchen space where a splendid buffet breakfast complete with a choice of breads, cakes, homemade jams, cold meats, cheese, yogurt, cereal, fruit juice, tea and amazing coffee (included in the price) was available each morning. Air conditioning and free Wi-Fi made our stay all the more comfortable. After a warm welcome the owners kept a discrete distance and we were able to come and go as we pleased. The rooms are in a historic building and have been renovated to a high spec with attention to some quirky elements from by gone days combined with the comforts of modern living (the bathroom was excellent). The entrance to the B&B is through a shared hallway (common in Florence) and there are two fights of steps to climb before reaching the accommodation. I recommend Bonsignori highly - it would be a perfect getaway for a family needing two rooms or a group of friends/two couples.

Next time we are in Florence and need a place to stay, we will only make one call, to Bonsignori. The original wooden ceilings are charming. The bathroom was clean, the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was most delicious and plentiful. It is about a 15 minute walk to the train station, major attraction (Ponte Vecchio) is only 5 minutes by foot. The only bad thing about our stay was the length, we only had one night. We will not make that mistake again! The hosts were very friendly and gave us some good pointers for restaurants for dinner.

Breakfast was gorgeous with Elisabetta's home made cakes and jams especially delicious. You can make tea or coffee at anytime you like which is great too. Our stay at Bonsignori was great! We only got to meet Riccardo on the first night, but he was very welcoming and helpful. The B&B is located a short walk away from the main Florence area but it was close to some very delicious restaurants. In particular, it was across from Gusta Pizza, some absolutely delicioussss pizza! For breakfast, we had toast and home-made marmalade to go with it, assorted cold cuts, cheese, fruit and muffins. It wasn't exactly a buffet breakfast, but it was tasty nonetheless. We also met Bianca, Elisabetta's sister, who was very friendly and enthusiastic about all the places to see in Florence and surrounding area. This small Bed & Breakfast had a very homey and authentic feeling. The rooms have been recently remodeled and tastefully decorated by the artist/hostess, Elisabetha, who was warm, friendly and very helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean and the breakfast was great (with homemade jam and great espresso). It is well located near Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio. The only minus we found is that the main entrance and stairwell of the building leading to the B&B(on 2nd floor-no elevator) need a serious make over. We would definitely stay there again.

Room is beautiful in a simple way; bathroom well designed; very generous breakfast; loved the location, a/c, and internet. Host family is very nice & helpful; available if you need them but out of the way if you don't. Only 2 drawbacks: 70 steps from the ground floor. Also, DO NOT drive your car here, even to drop suitcases off. City has very strict no-car zone but this house cannot give you the exemption and tells you to get it from the police station. Police told me only the hotel could give it. Hotel got us one from nearby parking garage; I just hope it works and we don't get a big fine from the city months from now

The room was beautiful and well appointed. A nice breakfast was served every morning. We didn't have much communication with the owners as they had just had a new baby but everything was still done well. The stairs were a little strenuous but took care of the Gelato-frenzy we got into. All in all a great stay.

Riccardo, thank you very much for your kind help for leading us to find a proper parking place in the late evening. We enjoy staying in your B&B, feeling like staying at home. The room and facilities are quite new. Strongly recommend.

Fabulous B&B in a great location within walking distance of Florence's main attractions. The breakfast provided was excellent. This is possibly the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Grazie mille, Elisabetta!

The family was very nice and welcoming. It felt like home away from home for us! Excellent spacious room and close to all the major sites. We would definately stay here again, as it was a great value for the money! Thank-you, Katalina and David

Central location, very nice clean accommodation. Breakfast is excellent. Free fast internet. House is old, therefore no lift. Apart from that, everything is fine, would recommend to everybody.

Sehr empfehlenswert!

lovely! the hosts were great, friendly, welcoming and readily available to us if we needed any assistance or had any questions - they gave us great tips on restaurants. The breakfast was great & varied, cappucinos smooth and fresh baked cake - yum. Location was good, near a piazza, restaurants, shops, just a few blocks from the center... a walking distance to pretty much everywhere and a stone's throw from the pitti. it's on a busy, noisy street but the windows blocked out noise quite well. i would definitely recommend this b&b to anyone willing to climb up the stairs - well worth it and excellent value for money.

The place was as good as advertised. The couple that runs the place is very nice and extremely accommodating, the rooms were well done, clean, and modern. Breakfast was excellent, and the location - not to mention the price - can't be beat. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Florence.

The B&B was beautiful and newly restored. The owners were incredibly nice, and the room was very quiet and intimate, despite being near the bustling Santo Spirito. It was one of the best B&B experiences I've had, and I highly recommend it.

This B&B in the heart of Oltrarno is a little gem! It's quirky, understated and quite luxurious. The B&B is in a old palazzo, very near Piazza Pitti, and it has just been restored, so you get the best of both worlds: 21st century comfort with Florentine period charm. The bedrooms are really spacious, light and clean and so is the breakfast area. The owners, Riccardo and Elisabetta, are great hosts: they were very friendly, helpful and resourceful- we were able to borrow lots of baby stuff and get loads of advice about things to do in Florence with small children (including where to get the best ice creams!). Breakfast was fantastic-as well as really good cappuccinos (and all the usual stuff) there were delicious home made apple tarts andjams as well as parma ham and pecorino cheese. The only fault we found, as with many similar buildings in Italy, is that there is no lift although you can leave pushchairs on the ground floor.

For those using public transport, we advise you to take the electric bus “D”, which leaves from the area in front of the ticket office, and get off on the Lungarno Guicciardini next to the bridge Ponte S. Trìnita From there it is a short walk up Via Maggio
