A really depressing place, absolutely to avoid! The owner has something very unfriendly and hostile about him; it's only money that counts. He hardly looks his guests. Breakfast is not worth mentionning it; no bread, just some wrapped small toast & coloured water. Terrible place.

We got upgraded for our honeymoon to an apartment instead of just a room so that was very nice. Staff was helpful, location is fine. Take note breakfast costs extra and you will pay 15 euro per day for parking regardless of how much time you are parked there ( apparently the police give tickets to those parked on the street who are not residents) otherwise a lovely 2 night stay

This is a very nice hotel - with a great breakfast - the only problem was they said the credit card machine was broke- but when we checked out the new attendant said it was fine. I think the other attendant wanted us to pay cash even though the machine was working - so be sure they will take card if you need to use a credit card.

We are traveling as a family and this room was very spacious with a mezzanine level giving privacy also. The B and B was quite a way from the centre but public transport was good so this was not a problem. Florence buses do not offer any discount for children over 5 so this is an added expense. We had difficulty locating a laundromat in this area and there were no restaurants but found some excellent ones in Florence.

Room was in anex of building and bad smell from drainage was present. Otherwise, place was in good order. Location of B&B Argentiere is excellent due to close public bus station and it is easy to find it when You arrive by car.

This is a nice place, but it is further away from where I think you would want to be. We went for a weekend and had to ride the bus into the city. No problem, except we missed the last bus that went out to where to hotel was (6pm) and has to walk 9 miles with 4 kids (1 infant)! We didn't expect the city bus to stop running our route! Oh well, otherwise, the hotel accomodations are nice.

Lovely B&B. As indicated on the website, it is out of the main area, but it is very easy to catch the bus right into the central town. It is actual nice to be able to escape for come quiet time in the evening. The grounds are lovely, very green!!

Location is convenient (parking lot, bus station). No noise from outside, but some from inside the hotel. Very nice terrace. Unfortunately the 4bed room we had reserved was occupied and we got a 2 bed + sofa room.

We had a quadruple room (with 2 double beds and a single bed) really nice and clean. The location is very convenient, near the bus stop (10 minutes to reach the centre by bus!), with a free parking and in a quiet residential area. I highly recommand this B&B! The breakfast beverages (coffee, ananas juice) were the only disappointing points of our stay.

A perfect place to fully enjoy Florence...bus stop just a few minute walking from L'Argentiere, as well as a bank, small shops, food and wine shops and so on. The B&B is more a three stars hotel, beautiful terrace to have breakfast in,full of flowers, spacious, nice and clean room and very good food service. To sum up we'll come back for sure and advice our friends and relatives!

We chose this B & B because of car parking facilites which were good. The bus into town worked well for us and we were happy to use it at night. The breakfast could be improved but was adequate. We enjoyed having the "enoteca" and the bread shop just around the corner and we had lunch in our room a couple of days - a welcome change after weeks of eating out!

Despite being a bit further out that I'd realised the Argentiere is great as it is in a quiet neighbourhood. It is very close to a main bus route with buses into Florence every 10 minutes. Buy a multi trip ticket from the tobacco shop 5 minutes walk away and enjoy mixing with the locals. The rooms were very large and the breakfasts were good. It is not what I'd define as a B&B, more like a small hotel but the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This Hotel was a former Silver Factory (incredible conversion)… therefore the name ‘Argentiere’(was undergoing some renovation when we were there Oct. 2008). We were greeted very well by an accommodating Owner/Operator Andreas who gave us a great tour of the property followed by sight seeing suggestions and driving directions on great maps he provided. I truly enjoyed my stay at the Argentiere. Pros: Secure, free and ample parking. An easy hotel to find if you watched for signs. Interior location in a nice residential area and only a 20 minute walk to the city center with excellent bus service to and from the hotel. The hotel was an excellent value for money. Our 4 person (Quadruple) suite was very modern, spacious and clean with a large kitchenette, stove and full size fridge. The breakfast area was spacious and opened onto a wonderfully large and beautifully decorated terrace. The Gazebo area was perfect where we enjoyed hours of late night laughs and conversation (w/lots of wine). Breakfast was great and more than you could ask for (An assortment of breads and pastries, cakes, some meats and cheese, yogurt, fruit juices etc). Cons: Incredibly Tiny Shower Stall. The hotel is not visible from the main road. Difficult to find staff in the evenings if you needed information.

The hotel was located about a 30 minute bus ride from the train station. Be sure you ask when you purchase your bus ticket where exactly to find the bus. It took us 20 minutes to find the spot where the correct bus stopped. I looked so simple but believe me it is not. Once we found the bus, it was only a slight problem knowing where to get off---the directions given by the hotel are only fair. Ask the passengers of the bus to tell you when to get off and save yourself some unwanted steps. Once we found the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. It is about 15 minute bus ride outside of Florence, very clean, very quite and the staff was very accommodating. The only downfall was the breakfast left alot to be desired. Oh well, coffee and croissants are cheap. If you plan on eating at a restaurant near the hotel forget it as there is only one pizza place nearby. Our first night we did not realize this and came back from Florence about 8PM only to find the one restaurant closed. We were saved by a deli with a very friendly person who provided us with a banquet which we took back to our room. The art in Florence is truly magnificent, the shopping never-ending and gelatto fantastic. Go and enjoy the city and then head to Lake Maggiorie for peace and tranquality and to Venice for wonderful art without the crowds of Florence....just go after the summer season. When heading back to the train station, you MUST change busses in downtown Florence or else you will take more than an hour to get back to the train station.

Great B&B with everything I needed for an extended business trip. Free secure parking, free wifi and huge rooms. On a residential street in the treed hills across the Arno, just south of the city center. Nearby stops for 2 bus lines that run frequently to the Duomo. We got a beautiful renovated suite with kitchen facilities, more than we had reserved. Buffet breakfast with coffee optionally brewed to order. Spacious terraces with views shown in the pictures. Good restaurant within a long walk (Antica Porta for pizza and pasta). Private parking, however, was chaotic - and tricky when someone else didn't leave enough passage; street space was fully taken. Don't be put off by the untidy workshops at the rear of the building.

An excellent location for visiting Florence. We parked the car(very secure)and local bus service (frequent and inexpensive) took us right to the centre of Florence. Competent staff. Andrea gracefully helped us to solve a problem with our rental car company while we went sightseeing. The main restriction was the size of shower box. Overall, the Argentiere Residence is a nice combination of price and service. Finally, pay attention to the map Andrea hands out and you can find your way to the historic center with a common urban bus.

The owner is very nice and gave us a very warm welcome. But the employee was kind of slow and careless. Rooms are very noisy because of the water pipe and poor sound proof. Did not sleep well for 2 nights out of 3. We didn't know that they change towels every 3 days and I left the dirty towels on the floor and found later at night the guy who is cleaning the rooms just hang it back without saying a word. If I didn't notice that by myself we could have used the dirty towels again. Finally I didn't find anyone to change the towels for me:(( Besides the breakfast is very poor in quality and veriety. Not at all what we expected for Italy. Not even a real coffee. Anyway, good experience for me since I am hotel professional myself and I will have my own B&B very soon.

The Argentiere was a perfect choice for us! Easy to reach by car, free parking, nice residential area, only a hundred meters away from the bus stop and buses running frequently to the city centre and back. The Argentiere is a spotlessly clean, beautiful place with spacious, air-conditioned rooms and very nice terraces. The breakfast was rich and tasty. The manager, Andrea, is such a friendly person and always ready to help you in any way . For excellent pizza and pasta you should take Andrea’s (and our) advice and try Il Pipistrello just a few blocks down the street. The next time we will be travelling to Florence, we will definitely be staying at the Argentiere.

Although a 30 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride from the center of Florence, this B&B was parfect for us. It was nice to get away from the craziness of the center of town at the end of the day and the walk is through an interesting area. The owner also knew of a couple of restaurants which were only about 10 minutes away by foot - one of which was excellent and the best place we ate at during our entire stay.

We stayed in 4 different hotels while in Italy. This was our favorite. The thing that made the biggest impression was the service. Like all of the other reviews, Andrea is a wonderful host! He carried our bags, made a breakfast of whatever we requested, tried to make reservations for us, moved beds around to accomodate us more comfortably (we stayed in the apartment). Andrea also speaks really good English which is very helpful. It was very clean and comfortable. It is a little outside the city, but the bus system was extremely easy and close both going to and returning from the city (maybe a 10 min. bus ride). It was also easier for us to get to arriving by car. There is also a locked car lot which is included in the price. We would definately recommend this property to anyone, and will stay again next time we are in Florence.

We were a little concerned about the location of the Argentiere. But it was not a problem at all. It's located in a lovely residential area, right on the bus route (10 minutes) into the downtown area. The property itself is clean and the rooms are very spacious. When we arrived, we were greated by a very friendly employee (Spanish speaking, with a little English) who offered us orange juice right away. After 2 nights we were moved to an even bigger room with a whirlpool tub (no extra charge, of course). Breakfast was okay (fruit, cheese, packaged danishes). It was enhanced by a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside from the breakfast terrace. Only drawback (for us) was the fact that someone was smoking down the hall and it filtered into the room. Met Andrea, the owner, who, when he found that we had to catch an early train the next morning, gave us a ride to the station and refused to take anything for it. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Florence.

Quad room was spacious with wonderful jacuzzi tub. Great price. I would count 5 lights for directions not the 4 as stated. Easy bus service very close. Renovating/adding on new rooms- this was not a problem since we weren't there during the day. Breakfast room was cold and the breakfast sparse. It would be nice to have a list of local restaurants near to the B&B. I wasn't offered any "free" wine or beer as listed. After checking in no staff really checked on us or offered any help with things to do or see.

This was a great place to stay as a base for sightseeing in Florence. We did have to stop and ask directions, as we counted more than 4 traffic lights, and a right veer in the road that is not mentioned in the directions. The public bus service is very convenient to the hotel, and usually punctual, but we got stuck in downtown Florence on a Friday night and had to take a taxi because the designated bus never came. We were told this was not a commom occurence. The taxi fare was 10 Euro - not as much as we had feared. All in all, a good experience.

This property was a very pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very helpful man who managed to make himself understood even though he spoke no English and we spoke neither Italian or Spanish, his languages. He insisted on carrying all our luggage to our third floor rooms-no elevator. Our room was very spacious and attractive and included all the amenities including A/C, a large modern bathroom and a balconey. A large roof top patio had nice views of the countryside. Although the only meal served was breakfast, drinks were available all day including wine, beer and water. Access to centrico was convenient. A bus around the corner ran frequently. You could even take a longish walk downtown. We four took a taxi back one night from the Piazza del Republica at a cost of only a little over 6 euros. As someone whose has stayed in Florence before ,always in the heart of the action , I found this a better alternative: large room with extra bed, large modern bathroom, no real inconvenience reaching town and an excellent price. I believe I would definitely stay again.

I was made very welcome on arrival, mid-afternoon without warning of the time. The location is in a quiet residential area, but within walking distance of the city centre and also on convenient bus-routes. I was given helpful information by my hosts on the bus routes. Help was also offered with event, museum and travel reservations if required. The standard of the en-suite bathroom was high.
