I was looking for accomodation near the Fortezza da Basso and the city centre, and found this well rated B&B. It has a great location, is quiet, clean and it was recently renovated to a high standard. I had a fabulous stay and can only recommend it. I would stay there again in future.

Very quiet rooms and very close to SMN Train Station. Room is a bit small but clean enough. If they improve breakfast quality it will be perfect.

Clean, friendly, breakfast good and abundant for italian standards (coffee, croissant, bisquits, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals). A comfortable little place really close to the train station!

Three adults (one married couple) chose Arco Antico for its location (within 5 mins easy walk of the train station) and its price. The location was also very convenient to cafes, shops, tourist attractions and even a laundromat. The double room was spacious and the smaller room more than adequate for a single person. Both had very good (although dated) bathrooms with a good shower and supply of hot water. A continental breakfast was included (freshly brewed coffee, cereal, brioche, toast, cold meats, juice, yoghurt and fresh fruit)and served in a quaint breakfast room. Although it is in an old building there is a small elevator. The host is excellent! He was always available to answer questions (in excellent English)and was very friendly. Although the beds in both rooms were clean, it is definitely time they were replaced (you could feel the springs)but we still slept OK. Probably more suited to adults. If you want a good location and would be happy with a 2.5 to 3 star rating, Arco Antico will suit you just fine.

The cleanliness and the friendly atmosphere of Arco due, of course, to Matteo, the proprietor, is what made my stay in Florence memorable. It is walking distance to every part of Florence and that's all I did, walk everywhere. I only took the taxi to the airport. It's location on the third floor also keeps down the sound of the vehicles on the road. The elevator is a big help. I stayed in a single room which is just right for one and the heater was working and kept me warm all night. The breakfast was filling and just right to start the day. I would definitely stay at Arco again and I will recommend it highly to my friends and relatives.

This B and B is very close to the Santa Maria Novella station (about 5 minutes walk away). It is on a busy street (constant movement of travellers - sometimes with noisy suitcases! - at most times of the day) but right at one end of this street so it is a little quieter there and certainly much more so with the windows closed. Most of the major sites of interest are within easy walking distance. Arco Antico is on the third floor (with a tiny elevator) and it is important to remember to notify the owner of your time of arrival beforehand as the place is not predictably staffed and you may have difficulty entering the premises/checking in otherwise. My (single) room was clean, comfortable and all that I needed as a base from which to explore the city in the three days I had. Breakfasts are good - cereal, toast, jams, croissant, yoghurt, juice and coffee/tea : all served by the friendly and helpful owner, Matteo, in the pleasant breakfast room. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to stay here again, particularly if I need the convenience of being close to the station.

The greatest merit was Arco Antico's nearness to the city center. It would have been very nice to warm the room before the guests arrive in winter, because it was really cold when we firstly entered the room. In summer there might have some mosquito problem.

It was wonderfuly, I recomended this place bread & breakfast to all young couple, is near centre and so much romantic, great breakfast.

Arco Antico is a very nice place to stay some days in Florence. It is only five minutes walking from Santa Maria Novella Station and from city centre. Rooms are clean and nice, with air conditioning and tv. The owner is welcoming and can give you useful information to see Florence. Breakfast is good enough. The only problem is that Arco Antico is at 3rd floor of an ancient building and the lift is very narrow, so could be a little difficult to bring up luggages: in the lift you can put the luggages but you have to go upstairs by feet. But at the end we can say it is a very good place.

Having stayed in quite a few more expensive hotels in Florence that were not satisfactory I was taking a gamble on this B&B - but the photographs looked so lovely. Thankfully the room lived up to expectations - and more. It was clean, simple, quiet and modern..... I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Florence and I personally look forward to returning.

This was a lovely B&B with a lovely owner. The rooms were clean, bright and well maintained. We arrived around 2 in the afternoon but did not realise that its reception closes for siesta between 1 and 3.30pm.

The room was very well presented and clean, and the staff friendly and eager to assist with queries. The hotel was a little difficult to find, and you could hear other guests in the corridor from inside the room.
