My stay was short, but the B&B worked for my needs. The room was clean and a decent size for Firenze. While the shower was small, it had good water pressure. The only reason I didn't rank the B&B higher was because the air condition did not work well in my room. The B&B is on the 3rd floor, so if you have heavy bags - wait for the elevator. Do not take the elevator if you are clausterphobic as it is small and only fits one person. It took me a bit to find the reception and receptionist, but once i did, she was very helpful. She reserved a taxi for me the next morning and in general, was available for anything I needed. I did not have breakfast, so I cannot comment on the food. Good B&B for the price.

Location is fine but staff was not available for much of the time and was not easy to communicate with. Staff fluency in English was limited. Rooms were adequate but not nice and not very well maintained. Breakfast was not very good. I would look for a different hotel next time.

A good central location, near Academie, street leads directly to Duomo. Break- fast was adequate, good pound cake, stale roles, milk in latte was bizarre. Maybe it was evaporated, or reconstituted.

Our stay at B&B Dante E Beatrice was one of the high points of our trip. Our room was comfortable, sun-filled and attractive. The buffet was generous, with ham, salami, cheese, pate, granola, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs, pound cake, rolls, croissants and more. The staff was wonderful, giving us great restaurant recommendations. Dante E Beatrice is about 20 minutes from the train station and ten minutes from the Duomo. We extended our stay there by a day because we were having such a good time.

The hospitality and assistance from Mina, the hostess/ manager of 'Dante e Beatrice' was exceptional and her willingness to assist in any way made our stay very comfortable and very satisfactory. the location of this B&B is great and the price represented exceptional value for money. Mina made us feel very much at home and nothing was too much trouble for her as our very gracious and respectful host. The breakfast is very adequate, with a range of breads, cereals, cheese and pastries and fresh fruit salad. Service at breakfast was attentive and extra effort was made to support dietary requirements. Mina happily booked restaurants and provided public transport information. All in all a very pleasant experience.

The B&B was ideally located for a conference at the nearby University in Piazza San Marco and for my subsequent 2 days of exploration. The owner was very helpful and kind and the breakfast was good. Although my room overlooked the main street, it was surprisingly quiet overnight.

We had a lovely stay at this B&B. Mina is a gracious and accommodating hostess. The room was great and the breakfast was well beyond our expectations. We really appreciated all the assistance Mina gave us in helping us find the B&B on our arrival in Florence and her help with setting up a group tour and other small incidentals that made our trip especially memorable. We'd definitely go back again and encourage others to see Florence and stay at this fine accommodation! Ciao!

Group of 5, having a winter break in Florence. Hotel was easily located and it is on 2nd floor of an apartment block. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was good, with large selection of food and coffee. Mina the manager is excellent and tries very hard to please and help all her guests. She is Moroccan and can speak Moroccan, French, Italian and Arabic. Although her English is not brilliant, she tries very hard. One of our party spoke French and found Mina extremely helpful in advising local shopping facilities, restaurants, booking of galleries such as the Uffizi and the Academia. She was also very helpful in allowing us to check in on-line for our return flights and printing our boarding passes.

Location is great. My wife and I spent 5 nights there and I was satisfied. She would have preferred a bit more of a space in the bathroom and a better breakfast. 5-10 minute walk to most attractions and 10-15 minute walk to train. If you don't like walking at all you'll have a lot of trouble in Flo in general but you may want to stay closer to the river. I never felt like it was an issue if we wanted to go back to the hotel to drop things off or take a break. We never needed more than 15 minutes to get to any of our tours. Directions were good and it's very easy to find. Breakfast is very basic and was expected based on other reviews. A basket of fruit, Yogurt and a croissant is just about it. They didn't refill things everyday so don't expect items like Nutella to always be available. They could probably to a little better. Rooms are small and nothing special but clean. Bed was firm and fine and extra pillows and blankets were there. Shower is the smallest I've ever experienced. I'm 5'10" and 205 lbs so not a skinny guy but not extra large either and I had to squeeze to get in and out. That said, lots and lots of water pressure and hot water, better than most hotels I've stayed in so I was happy. I've stayed in many hotels in Italy through Venere and this wasn't my favorite but it was a decent place.

I chose this hotel because of all the great comments I had read about this hotel and the hostess Mina. Customer service is paramount when staying in a hotel and Mina was indeed a superb hostess. She gave me a map straight away and circled all the great sites in the city. She was very helpful when I needed a plug adapter, giving me one of hers and helped me to get it to work when I had problems with it. I remember reading a comment where someone complained about her lack of English. It is true that she is not fluent in English but this did not hinder us understanding each other and her English was certainly a lot better than my Italian! There were a few issues with the room, such as the toilet didn't flush very well and I had to remove toilet roll myself to save it from getting blocked. The shower door was slightly broken too and the shelf above the sink was at an angle which did cost me an aftershave bottle that fell off and smashed. However, for the price I cannot complain and if I were going back I would certainly stay here again.

I found that the Relais Dante e Beatrice was a good place to stay for a couple of nights as long as you don't mind walking a bit to find the points of interest. The advantage is that it is quieter and less touristy. Nice restuarants nearby. The staff were friendly and breakfast adequate, better than a hotel. Overall I would recommend it but get clear directions as the residence is a little hard to find due to confusing street numbers.

Our stay was fantastic. The BnB is literally two blocks from everything that's amazing about Florence. Out train arrived absurdly early in the morning, and our hostess let us check in well before our appointed time. She even brewed coffee and set out the most amazing croissants despite the fact that breakfast was over. There's an great little restaurant around the corner that we ate at twice, with stellar pizzas and great house wine. Florence was the highlight of our trip and when we go back, we'll stay here again for sure.

Streetside rooms can be noisy, so I'm not whining there. It is Florence and David isn't too far away! Smallest shower I've ever been in but even there you have to work with older buildings, so not whining either. Better than sharing one down the hall. Mina works very hard, she's a beautiful person!

The B & B was easy to find and on arrival my wife and I were warmly welcomed by Mina, (who manages the business). No need to ring up on arrival to be let in as Mina was there. Most of the day she was around to help, and certainly at breakfast and early evening. Mina provided us with a map adding information regarding buses to catch to get to areas of interest on the outskirts of Florence and advised how to get to those that were within walking distance. The B & B is within 5 mins walk of Piazza San Marco, which is one of the bus hubs. Duomo was 15 mins, and Ponte Vecchio/Uffizi 20 mins. We found the room to be spacious and the bed very comfortable. Linen was changed every 3/4 days with the room being service each day. Despite overlooking the main street there was little noise at night (unlike other places we have stayed in Italy) so the ear plugs we had brought were redundant. After the first 3 nights Mina offered to move us to another room that had become vacant so that we would find it even quieter. The new room was even more spacious that the one before. The breakfast offered was simple but plentiful and as always enhanced by Mina's smiles and willingness to help in any way that she could. Six days into our stay she cooked us a superb evening meal. We have stayed in many B&Bs and this one was so impressive due to the care and attention that Mina provided every day, even providing a mosquito deterrent due to wanting the windows open at night. Even the restaurant recommended by Mina was excellent. Mina speaks basic English, but fluent French, Italian, Arabic and Moroccan. Families, couples and young people were staying as well as different nationalities. A good example of Mina's care for us was that when we were due to leave she organised a taxi for us to the airport pointing out that the cost was no more than using a taxi to the railway station and then the shuttle bus and yet took considerably less time. How true that was - 15 minutes as compared to up to 1 hour

This was our first visit to Florence and we were made to feel very welcome by Mina. She gave us a map with all the tourist attractions marked on it and recommended restaurants. It was our wedding anniversary on the second day and Mina made a dinner reservation for us at Ristorante Accademia and then baked a special cake for our dessert and took it to the restaurant. It was a lovely surprise and made our special day even more memorable.

I stayed at B&B Relasis Dante e Beatrice for my stay in Florence in 2009 and was so taken with it, I just had to stay here again this trip. I was certainly  not disappointed! The service provided by the beautiful Mina is unlike any I have ever encountered in my travels. She is so delightful and hospitable, I felt like I was at home (but better because I didn't have to cook or clean!).  The rooms are spotlessly clean, the location is very convenient and the breakfast is very extensive by Italian standards. I felt very safe and comfortable for my stay and will definitely return next time I am in Florence!

The only thing that has to be considered is thta it not really "next" to the center.it takes a good 10 /15 minuntes walk fron the B&B and the Duomo square and a bit more to and from the central station. However with a small luggage it is not a problem.

The woman who runs the B&B is very sweet; however, our room was off of the community breakfast room, which caused us to be woke up very early every morning by the noise of her preparing breakfast and other people eating breakfast. The B&B is also quite a long walk from most sights in the city.

I spent 7 nights at Relais Dante e Beatrice and it was a terrific experience. At about a 15 minute walk away from SMN train station, it was very easy to find. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner and hostess, Mina. She was so enthusiastic and welcoming and really made me feel at home. After checking me in, she whipped out a map and marked all of the must-see places in Florence and gave me tips about how to get to other towns nearby like Siena, San Gimingano and Fiesole. The B&B has a very serene atmosphere and is located in an area of town that is far enough away to be quiet at night but about 5-10 mins walking distance to all of the main attractions--San Lorenzo and the Duomo are no more than 10 mins away on foot. I booked a double room with an ensuite and was very happy with my accommodations--the bed was comfy, the shower was hot, and as a big tea drinker I really appreciated the electric tea kettle and a variety of teas in the room. I happened to visit Florence during the coldest winter they've had in decades and Mina was incredibly accommodating and did all she could to make sure that I was cozy and comfortable; she provided me with extra blankets and even dressed my bed with an extra comforter without my even asking. I really appreciated her efforts to make sure my stay was lovely and it truly was. From what I experienced and observed, Mina was bending over backwards to please all of the guests that were at the B&B and was incredibly hospitable; I made reservations at a B&B in order to feel like for a short while I was actually living in Florence and Relais Dante e Beatrice provided that homey feel I was looking for and exceeded my expectations. I had been planning a trip to Italy for a couple of years now and finally was able to come this year and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. I would leave the B&B at about 10am and come back at around 6pm or 7pm. There was never a shortage of things to do or see. I fell in-love with Florence.

The B&B Relais Danta e Beatrice is conveniently located on one of the few straight streets in Florence which you can follow directly to all the action. So, it's easy to find your way around, and we walked all over the city. The breakfast is good, and the rooms are spacious and air conditioned which is somewhat of a rarity in Florence. We did have someone meet us at our train and take us to the B&B. This was helpful since we know very little Italian. Overall, this is a good value, and I would stay here again.

The Dante Beatrice felt just like a home away from home. The bed and breakfast was first rate but there was one very special person who embellished the homespun feel. Her name is Mina! Mina, the manager of Relais Dante e Beatrice is truly an ANGEL. She knows everything there is to know about Florence and she’s willing to share her knowledge every guests under her care. Plus she makes a mean breakfast Cappuccino! Mina goes above and beyond the call of duty for her clients. In our case, we left a very expensive miniature Canon camera in a taxi. Mina spent an entire day calling the cab company and describing where we got the cab, where we dropped off, and the features of the female driver. She was very cheerful and persistent. And behold, the very next morning she had our camera safely hanging around our neck. Now, really what are the odds of finding such a valuable item in a foreign country. Finding it is something only Mina can achieve. I have never stayed at a place where the manager takes such wonderful care of all of her guests. Because of our Angel Mina, we will certainly return to the Relais Dante e Beatrice every time we travel from the USA to Florence.

We stayed in Florence three nights. I booked the reservations months in advance. Dante&Beatrice has a staff of one. Her command of English is limited. The rooms are spacious. The A/C works. The windows are a single piece of glass in a wooden frame. If you are staying on the street side, you will get to hear every ambulance and police car that go by. The bathrooms are adequate with the smallest of showers. The drains and toilets both have pumps that move the waste water UP into the wall. I do not know why. It makes an unusual noise. Breakfast is decidedly European, except the American style coffee. There is a bar across the corner that serves a better cup and croissant. I reserved a triple and two doubles, months in advance of our arrival. We began this trip with 7 members. One of us had to return to the States midway, so we arrived in Florence with six. When we arrived from the train station, we were placed in three doubles, one of which was modified by a trundle bed crammed between the queen and the wall. This was for one night. The management overbooked available rooms and the 'triple' was vacated by the next day. When I tried to negotiate this oversight, I was frustrated by the language barrier and the fact that all the guest logs were pencil erasures on three sheet of paper. She charged us tax on 7 people instead of 6, and I had to pay the original confirmed price for a triple and two doubles, even though we had to shuffle out of three doubles after one night. This is a lesson in 'You get what you pay for'. The elevator is nothing more than a dumb waiter. Use the stairs to get to the third floor (2d in the US). The building is very non-descript, probably why there were no pics at the time I booked. Florentines have an unusual way of numbering their buildings along a street. It was a challenge to find the place. It was much further from the train station than we gathered from the maps. If it helps, Econolodge is a notch above this place. Its location lacks a

We had a very nice stay. The room was larger than expected, and our host was nice and helpful. Breakfast was great, especially since we only had to take 3 steps to get to the breakfast area. It's a bit of a walk to the train station but buses do run by the hotel. Wireless didn't work in the room, but OK in the common areas. Our main complaint was the street/traffic noise. We were in a front room, and the buses and scooters start running very early. Otherwise, it was very nice.

For me the hotel was excellent value, I had a lot to do and see in the San Marco area, and the rate was reasonable. You´ll have to walk 15 - 20 minutes to get to Duomo - Uffizi (or you can ofcourse take the bus that stops just outside). The hotel was basic, nothing fancy, nothing outstanding, but a big, clean room, wi-fi and a basic, but desent, brekfast.

it was our first time staying at this B&B and we were very pleased with the room, the location and most importantly the help we got from the staff. Although their web site mentions to checkin between 10 am and noon OR between 6 pm and 8 pm, the employee looking after the rooms was there from very early on until late at night. The breakfast was very good and assistance to get a taxi or a reservation at museums was prompt and efficient. From this location, it was easy for us to get in at the Accademia (David's statue) without reservations by showing up at about 5 pm with museum closing at 6:50 pm. In summary very good value for money with excellent staff to help you during your stay.

Many problems with the car parking: too much wait for the staff to come to bring the car to the garage.

Everything was OK. We reserved a triple and we got 2 related rooms, very spacious and very nice. The breakfast is OK. Close enough to the city center to walk.

Really small elevator with entrance 3 floors up from street. A bit noisy in front rooms so ask for back unit. Great breakfast room and helpful staff (french speaking) Rooms nice and large.

Extremely nice staff. Very nice bed and breakfast. Rooms are a little noisy due to the street traffic but other than that it is excellent in every other way.

Would probably stay there again. The hotel location was a bit out of the city. You definitely need a taxi from the train station to the hotel. But you can definitely walk to all the attractions from the hotel (if you are into walking). Very spacious room. We were given the room off of the breakfast room. The rooms was two bedrooms when we only needed one for my husband and I. The bathroom was large and spacious. Unfortunately the bedroom was right across the street from a coffee shop that opened really early. Quitenoisy from the street and people going to the coffee shop if you have the windows open or closed. Noise came through the window too. Breakfast was decent. Had to make your own espressos. Mostly just baked goods and yogurt. Hotel staff were good. Seemed to be family owned. Friendly and recommended places to visit and restaurants.

This was a really nice place to stay and not to far of a walk to the main things to see in florence. Really cute! There is no internet available. We thought there was wireless but she only seemed to have a computer in her main office. The lady is really nice, but speaks only a little English. We would stay there again.

Generally very pleased with the B&B. The venue's situation is excellent - very close to the centre and all the important sights. Everything is within walking distance. The only drawback is the noisy street, but that's something we were prepared for, as we knew beforehand that the place goes out onto a busy street. The place is very clean, the staff friendly and helpful and last but not least, breakfast isn't only symbolic as in some places, but there is a really good selection of food. Fresh and crispy rolls and croissants and good coffee!

Staff very kind and solicitous. Very noisy the traffic of the street which is quite continuous all long the night. However 3 delightful days in Florence.

We had a brilliant stay at the Hotel Andrea (which also runs the Relias Dante e Beatrice - and which we discovered on our arrival was not available). It took a little effort to work around this glitch in the travel plan. But thanks to friendly staff at the Firenze Travel Information Office on Via Cavour and the manager of Hotel Andrea, we relocated to the hotel in Piazza Independenza, overlooking the park. We were given the largest camera matrimoniale in the hotel at the same rate we had booked on Venere. It is a really friendly hotel, very helpful staff with good facilities including WiFi internet access, great breakfast room (and generous breakfast) - the only disappointment was the coffee (a surprise for Italy). The hotel was also a convenient walk to the train & bus station, as well as the Duomo. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Firenze. Recommend it highly to everyone.

Spent 3 days in Florence on business. Made and excellent choice. Nice place. Very nice breakfast. Only one complain: on one day breakfast wasn't served before 8:45. It was supposed to be between 8 and 10am. Being there on business could be a (minor) problem, but - after all - if one wants a 5 stars standard, better make a different choice. I would still state it was an excellent choice.

Bien decorado, Dante total!! El desayuno muuuy completo. EL ascensor es una experiencia que no se puede explicar... bufff!!! Queda un poco apartado del centre y cuidado con el numero de los portales, los rojos son de los comercios y los azules de las casas!!!! En general, bien.

The room itself was fine, but it was the outside noise that was the issue...I only had two days there and not being able to get any sleep due to the party goers coming out of the bars and walking home was a big let down since the key word in the ad was "quiet". If you can sleep through a lot of noise, then it would be okay, if you're looking for something truly quiet and peaceful, look elsewhere.

I arrive at firenze at 9.45 am and i went directly to the hotel. I could do the check in and let my lugages in the room. The girl who receive me was very kind and helpful. The room was clean. The only bad point was the sound of the street but for the price I think it's quite ok. I really paid what I was supposed to pay (no extra, that is to say 78 euros for 2 nights, good for firenze).

Beautiful and charming place to stay with an excellent location in the down town of Florence, away from the headache of the city. The b&b is a walking distant from Duomo and Uffizi , just in the surronding several good restaurant and coffee shops. My room was spacious and nice. The staff was excellent. The manager Franco really helpfull so lovely !The breakfast was standard Italian style but really good; place was great and I would come back and I have already recommended it to my friends. Grazie molto bello e gentile tutti, Firenze ei città merivogliosa

It is near Galleria dell'accademia (five minutes) and the centre (ten minutes). Its position is strategic to visit the principal attractions of the city but it is located in a quiet area
