I would stay at Accademia House again on my next trip to Florence. It is located near the Duomo, just a short walk and the room was extremely quiet. We stayed at the room with the arched cieling and it was very spacious which is a great luxury in Europe. Great value too. Marco, the owner, couldn't be any more helpful. He gaves us tips on restaurants, helped us making museum and cab reservations. I highly recommend.

Accademia House is the best place to stay while visiting Florence. The proprietor was excellent as he made us feel welcomed and at home. The rooms are amazing, being modern yet with a historic flare. The location is perfect for seeing the sights of Florence. Accademia House is a treasure in Florence.

My wife and I visited Florence for four nights during our Italy vacation. Our stay at the Accademia House was fantastic. The location is in an area convenient to the tourist spots but on a nice neighborhood street. Breakfast was offerred every morning at a cafe directly across the road, and consisted of pastries and coffee or cold drink. Even though a full breakfast would have been better, we liked being able to grab something quick at our leisure. The B&B manager was extremely helpful an courteous. He even waited outside with us for our taxi to the train station on the last day. The room was very spacious and clean. Great value in Florence!

Marco was fantastic!! It was our first visit to Italy and Florence and he was a great help in letting us know what to visit and sent to some amazing restaurants...especially Burrasca!! The room was very spacious and clean. The B & B is located an easy walk from everything...we'll be back!!

Marco was very pleasant, but was rushed during our orientation to Florence. He was discouraging about our chances of seeing some popular art, but we were able to see what we came to see. He discouraged us from taking a tour, but we found the tour company in Florence top notch. The lack of a lift needs to be stressed because the stairs are quite steep. Marco will help, but he left for a 5 day vacation when we arrived. He did help us out when we checked out. The room was adequate, but Marco took our headboard and changed a mirror during our stay. He was also remodeling the bathroom and there was a large hole in the wall behind the door. The breakfast service was fine and the location is great. We felt we didn't really have enough information to make a good selection.

The start was bumpy: Marco, the owner, couldn't meet us at the agreed time and we had to get the key from nearby. We only met next morning. Marco was busy with a lot of things and we hardly saw him. Having said that, his recommendations regarding restaurants, walks, etc., were spot-on and very helpful. Breakfast is in a bar on the other side of the street which is a plus, because they have better coffee and a better pastry selection than almost all hotels. Marco is not very flexibel wrt check-out times, don't expect e.g. that you can leave your luggage after check out and get it later. The (historic) rooms are very nice and as described by others. Good location just north of the main attractions. On the whole, a recommendable place.

We stayed at the Accademia House for 3 nights in the Modern Room. Very spacious, very clean. Comfortable queen size bed. Nice Linens and extra pillows and blankets. Nice hot shower with great water pressure. Lots of closet and storage space. Extremely secure...we are talking locked front gate, locked lobby entrance and locked door to our room + hidden safe. There are no worries here with safety. Marco met us as promised on arrival. Room delivered in perfect condition. Sat down with us, made personal recommendations for dinner places, gave us advice, drew all over the map to help us out. Marco is a good and honest person. Great personality and sharp sense of humor. He trusted us and we trusted him...as it should be. Bravo Marco. I hope you continue to do well. You deserve it.

Marco the host made us both feel very welcome, Unlike me my Partner does not speak Italian , Marco's English is impeccable and his knowledge of Firenze invaluable, the accomodation was 1st class , spacious and comfortable with an insurmountable amount of history in the architecture of the room, it was like sleeping in our own cathedral, it out shone our previous week in Venezia at a supposed 4 star on the canal, the breakfast is sparse but when your in Firenze You dont need to go far to re-fuel and the food is cheap, out of this world and far beyond our expectations, watch out for the pastries, they are to die for. Our stay was far too short and we left Firenze feeling very sad, but vowed to return and if possible stay at the Accademia House. Thank you Marco

Accademia House is a bed and breakfast located a short walk from Piazza San Marco, and the Accademia (which houses the David by Michelangelo) but in a more residential, less touristic area. It consists of three or four large rooms in an old (16th Century) building on the first floor. There is no elevator but Marcos Viti the Innkeeper made it his business to be available to help carry luggage and make you comfortable. The room was spotless and the bathroom was modern with a nice shower. Great towels. Room air conditioner was available. Breakfast was provided (coffee and pastry) at a nearby coffee shop. Marcos was terrific. He is a young energetic man who really knows Florence. He was knowledgeable about night clubs, bars, and restaurants and was helpful in making reservations etc, calling cabs etc, providing maps and other essential information. Overall, this was a friendly, pleasant and reasonable way to visit Florence.

Academia House is right in the downtown area of Florence. I thought we would like this, but it was very busy and noisy, and we were suffering from jet lag, so could have used a more serene setting! Marco was not there when we arrived, so we ate lunch across the street, then went downt the block looking for a phone, wound up in a chocolate shop where the owner was nice enough to call Marco for us, and he then arrived within 10 minutes. The room was large and clean, and Marco was terrific, gave us maps and lots of really good recommendations. One of his recommendations was for the hike up Piazzale Michelangelo which offers a stunning view of the city.

This is a centrally located B&B with a very friendly owner, Marco. Rooms are large and have everything you need. Warmly welcomed by Marco, who spoke excellent English and gave suggestions for sightseeing itinary. He recommended local resaurants - we went back to Vino Ollio 3 times - not cheap but excellent food, ambience and friendliness. Enjoyed breakfasting in cafe across the road. Our room was warm, bathroom modern but there was no room servicing during our three night stay.No hairdryer! Good location within walking distance of all main sights. Flight of steep stairs up to room. We think we made a good choice.

I strongly recommend Academmia House B&B. Starting with a great welcome from housekeeper and good recommendations, the B&B is really nice and confortable. It's in the city center, with a walking distance to all interesting places. You get a better service from housekeeper than if you were staying in a hotel. The only thing to improve, the breakfast could be a bit bigger for the price you pay. I stayed in the Antique room, very nice furniture, big room, recently renewed bathroom, and nice views of the street.

Accademia House was a great place to stay. Marco was an awesome host and spent some time with us getting orientated to Florence - where to go, what to do, where to eat. We had our best meals in Florence - thanks to Marco's suggestions. The room was nice and very clean. The breakfast was across the street at this cute little cafe where all the locals come to eat. The location was very convenient, but nice because it wasn't a touristy area. We look forward to returning one day - hopefully sooner than later!

Our stay at Accademia House was the best B&B experience out of the 7 places we stayed on our 2 week trip! Accademia House is a beautiful apartment, but, more importantly, the proprietor Marco was very approachable, hospitable, and helpful in both accomodating us and helping us experience Firenze. Marco have us detailed directions to interesting sites, restaurants, as well as areas to avoid at night. It was obvious that enjoys what he does. The location is about 10-20 minute walking distance from the main sites, though if you do not want to walk, the bus stop is 5 minutes away. The breakfast is outsourced to the cafe across the street, which worked great, as you can have it as early or as late as you wish.

Our stay at the Accademia House B&B was excellent. Marco, owner/manager/chamber maid, was a fantastic host. My girlfriend and I had never been to Florence before and neither of us spoke any Italian. When we arrived, late, Marco welcomed us in perfect English with a big smile. He showed us our very comfortable room, we unpacked and then we went through into his kitchen and he gave us a map which he marked with a guide of what to see, where to eat, what shops to shop at, and what to avoid, all of which was tailored to our age, late 20s, and tastes. It was excellent advise, and even though we only spent 5 days in the city, we felt we eat the most scrumptious food, visited the finest shops and absorbed the principal culture of the city. Cheers Marco, perfect host, perfect holiday.

Very welcoming hotel. Marco has excellent English and was extremely good at giving useful information to make our way around town, including restaurants, museums, etc. Very easy to get into and out of town with a 10 minute walk, though not so easy to find as the house number not clear, and confused by a strange 2-number system for ground floor and upper floor. You need to look at the enamel blue/black numbers, and ignore the red on stone. Breakfast fascinating at lively cafe over the road, used extensively by the locals. Excellent stay.

Had a very nice stay at this accomodation. The location was perfect just a short walk to the main square with Duomo. Also the train station was only a 15-20mins walk away. Marco, the host, was most accommodating. He spoke fluent English which was nice as my Italian is only basic. He sat us down shortly after our arrival and gave us a map and he then proceeded to mark out all the places of interest and showed us clearly how to get to them all. He also showed us good places to eat on the map which was useful. The room was excellent most spacious (he had even bigger rooms than the one we stayed in) and clean. Breakfast was in a cafe over the road and was fine. It was nice to eat with people going about their ususal business rather than a room full of tourists. Would definitely stay here again if I were to visit Florence again.

We had a chance to have a drink with him and had a great evening. This is in a fantastic part of town, central but not super busy. We didn't have any trouble sleeping as he just put in new windows that keep out most of the street noise, not to mention the bed was super cozy and one of the best I've ever slept in away from home.
