Bed and Breakfast Proserpina - Enna

Nice B&B in the middle of Enna. No parking at the B&B possible but the staff is helpfull to find a space.

The room was large and well decorated as chosen by the family. There was a settee which was quite comfortable. The hotel is run by a family. The receptionist helped us find a place to park our car and was very welcoming. The hotel has a small lift and we were helped to get our luggage to our room and to pick it up from the hotel when we left. The location is quite convenient but busy and help with parking was appreciated

This hotel is conveniently located in the historical part of Enna, Enna Alta. The staff was extremely accommodating and picked us up for free at the bus station in Enna Bassa. The staff also made phone calls for us to our next hotel to arrange for transportation there from the bus station, allowed us to change rooms to one that accommodated us better, and allowed early check in and late check out. The staff was the highlight of the stay. This hotel is on the cheaper side, and it shows in the decor and in the crowded nature of the building itself. There is a tiny elevator as another option to the narrow winding staircase. Not for anyone who is very large, or has problems walking etc... Great value, I would definitely recommend.

Perfect location! The bus stop (Piazza Scelfo) from/to other cities is just 10m away. I think this B&B is the most easy accessible one in other B&Bs or hotels from other cities, because the others are need to go through heavy traffic roads (even in the old town, many many cars pass through...) or need to go up or down hills. Rooms including public areas are well decorated and clean. I've never seen such a design B&B! Even though the B&B is near to the bus stop, the rooms where located inside of the block is very quiet. As a family-run B&B, the atmosphere is very welcoming, and they are very helpful. If there is anything to complain, it perhaps the hot water of the shower is limited.

Could not ask for friendlier or more helpful staff. They were most anxious to please us and made our stay in Enna very pleasant. The rooms were very clean and although being on the main street was a little noisy during high traffic times, if you closed the windows and put on the air the traffic noise dissappeared. The breakfast in the morning was a pleasant experience, very good cappucino. Again, the staff was the most enjoyable and accomodating of any hotel in Sicily.

Great location. Great views from the Castle, if a clear day. Very helpful and obliging staff. Breakfast excellent. Information about the Proserpina legend on the walls of the breakfast room. Enna a wonderful typical Sicilian town that is not touristic.

Rather noisy from the outside as our room was above one of the main streets and the strong wind shaked the shutters in their guides so we had to sleep with open shutters. Breakfast was minimal with plastic dishes and glasses. Nice people ready to help.

No charm at all for the room

The staff was extremely nice, coming with us to park the car and explaining us where to go in the city. The room was clean and spacious. Internet point was available in lobby and the location is right in the middle of the city centre.

The hotel is very warm and cosy. Overall experience was much better than I had expected.

Excellent adress. no parking.

I recommend close by restaurant "Bottiglieria Belvedere", where "Toti" and sons will excite you with their culinary skills.

Simply excellent!

We arrived at Enna from Palermo by train - not recommended. No taxis and very few buses. Its a very long walk up the hill to Enna. However the owner kindly came down from Enna and picked us up at no charge. We had a plumbing problem in the room the first night so the owner took us to his own house for the night until the problem was fixed. Very happy to stay there again.

This is a lovely little place, with character, in the centre of Enna. Free internet access, free coffee when desired and a pleasant room, albeit with a rather cramped bathroom.

Very helpful and efficient staff: the room was delightful if a little small and some noise from the d=street, but we expected this and it did not concern us unduly. Use of internet was very convenient and all the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome.

Quaint B&B in the heart of the city. A little difficult to find, but once there, the proprietor, though he spoke little English, helped us park our car, showed us the property and our room, and offered a fresh caffe. Our room was a decent size and nicely decorated; the bathroom was tight. This inn has several tastefully decorated public areas and a cozy terrace for relaxing or having breakfast. The only negative to our stay was that our room faced a busy street, and the town was celebrating Mezza Notte Bianca, which carried on until after midnight. The proprietor apologized in advance for the noise; the nice breakfast made up for it!

We loved staying at B&B Proserpina in Enna. This was our favorite spot in Sicily. The owner and his family were very welcoming and were wonderful resources for our stay (the owner and his friend personally walked us to a favorite restaurant the first night we were there).

The bathroom was low standard and needs more aeration to avoid further spreeding of black fungus. Familiar atmospere is ok and people are nice and helpful.

We arrived to Enna in a dense fog from the bus station. There was no way I would have been able to find the hotel so we called them and they were there within minutes. It was so great for a the pick up. We had a great room and great service. They were very helpful the next morning setting up our bus travel and taking us to the bus stop. A pretty little town in the heart of Sicily. The hotel is in the center of the old district and some good places to eat right in the square. We had a great room and loved the steam shower. The staff was extremely helpful.

This was a very welcoming place, close to bus stop if you are going into and out of Enna proper. We arrived at lower Enna and the owner graciously picked us up down below. Location is right off the central square. The reception was very kind and the breakfast was of good quality. Free use of internet was a plus. I highly recommend this place if your are staying in Enna. Remember to have cash, as they do not accept credit cards!

Very helpful owner who advised us on the parking in Enna (white lined areas are free all the time, other marked areas need tickets).The B&B`s very central in Enna and approx 150m from the Duomo

Proserpina B&B made our first night in Sicily very memorable! The proprietor, Fabrizio, was very hospitable, and even made us a cup of coffee immediately upon our arrival. Dario (Fabrizio's son) and his girlfriend Marika actually took us by their car at night to view some sights, and even dropped us off at a decent pizza restaurant so we would not have to drive searching for parking, etc. Large room with new, very modern bath. Access to internet in reception area was a perk. We wished we had spent longer in Enna - a beautiful and interesting city. Astounding views within a short walk of the B&B. A special place!

If you visit Enna, this is really a top location! A little bit pitty that the owner doesn't speak or understand much english or french. Very friendly but, it was difficult to communicate. The airconditioning is pretty noisy and so is traffic. But in the end, this is a very reasonable B&B for this price and service!

Enna was initially very quiet but opened up over the weekend. Room was great, big living area also. Just watch the public transport on weekends as things got a little hairy, owner was very kind and gave us a lift to train. Glad to see real sicily before others invade.

Our best visit in Italy/Sicily! Nice room, excellent location, very helpfull and friendly staff! Young guy (sorry I don't remember your name anymore) even drive us his spare time to Enna Bassa bus station when local bus was very late and we arrived just in time for Palermo bus! Thank you! Highly recommended!

Need ventilation. Staff extremely helpful, accompanied us to a good free parking spot that would have been very hard to find otherwise. Breakfast a bit weak.

Upon arrival, it can be quite inconvenient if one does not speak the language since there is no reception except an intercom at the door. After the check-in hassle, the whole stay is pleasurable and the staff double super. They even went out of their way to help me with travel information and walked a distance with me to show me the bus terminal. The hotel is located alongside a road junction. With closed windows, one can hear the traffic vaguely.

Dieses Haus ist besonders empfehlenswert, es liegt zentral, ist ausgezeichnet ausgestattet, hat einen hervorragenden Service. Der Manager ist sehr bemüht den Aufnethalt sehr angenehm zu gestalten. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll und gediegen eingerichtet, es ist schade, dass wir nur 1 Nacht verbringen konnten.

B&B was difficult to find. It is preferred that guests telephone first, but I did not have a telephone with me. After someone helped me find the piazza in the address and I spotted the sign, I rang the doorbell. Fortunately, someone answered and came over promptly. I was given keys to my room and the front door. Breakfast items (prepackaged) were laid out on a table in the breakfast area. I was shown how to operate the coffee machine. Someone came by each evening (the person who let me in) to make sure everything was OK. B & B is in a great location in center of Enna. Hotel has an arrangement with a nearby restaurant for a 15 Euro meal, including vino.

I stayed one overnight in Enna plus one day view sitting. The welcoming was very good with a good atmosphere; although there was a little language barrier (English / Italian) but we understood each another quite well. The hotel is clean and we discovered nice surprises: the shower has got an incorporated sauna; there is free access to the internet! In addition to that, the coffee machine produces nice and fast drinks. We would love to come back! Hans and Marcjanna

Took a while to find out where the B&B was located. We were buzzed in, and had to wait a while for the owner, who was very helpful but unfortunately barely spoke any English. The room was very large with everything you expect (even satellite TV). Breakfast was a apparently very Italian, which meant only a pre-packet croissants and toast with jam. Not enough to still a morning appetite. Overall great room, friendly welcome, very economic breakfast.

Our hosts, although off-site, were most accomodating, particularly when advising about available parking, places to visit, etc. Breakfast was minimal, compared to other locations where we stayed. As we experienced almost everywhere on our Sicilian trip, small B&Bs are extremely difficult to find amongst the tangle of narrow one-way streets. Next trip we're going to have a GPS device in our car.

Good location, in the heart of Enna. Nice place, nice room. We got the Proserpina room which is very nice and confortable, the only inconvenience is that it´s besides tha breakfast room...and if you´ve got noisy and early waker neighbours..The owner is very kind, and also Manuela, the welcoming girl that works there. If I come back to that par of Sicily I´ll definitely stay in Proserpina again!

Stayed in Enna for 1 night. Arrived late in the evening and the host's son picked us up at the B&B (the host family is not residing in the B&B). The B&B occupies the whole building and we have keys to the building and there was no curfew. The B&B was very nicely decorated (and seems to be recently renovated) and very clean- and made me feel so much at home. It's location is just perfect in "uphill" Enna right besides one of its main piazza. The host was very nice and he helped us to look for buses to catania. As we were leaving on a sunday, there were only buses to catania in 5pm. The host allowed us to stay in the breakfast area and use the internet till the bus arrives. I would recommend this B&B as a good alternative to hotels for those who are considering visiting Enna. I am satisfied with both the quality and the price of the B&B. The host does not speak english but his son speaks good english and there was no problem to communicate with him.

We got the biggest room and it was indeed spacious. The bathroom was exeptional; the shower could be converted into a steam sauna. The stairs are very narrow and we heard from other guests that their room was under the roof with not even staying hight. Unfortunately the host did not speak English, but he nevertheless recommended a very good small restauranant nearby. The food was absolutely delicious there: Antica Hostaria.
