Bed and Breakfast Rugapiana Vacanze - Cortona

Great B&B! It is right on the main street in Cortona, the room was gorgeous, the staff excellent. You are given a certificate to go to cafe next door for breakfast (pastry and coffee) which worked well. I recommend communicating your arrival time with facility as there is not staff on site 24 hrs although they are available by phone if needed. Would definitely stay there again!!

Great host, right in the center of the town.

Good location , good room and cozy.spacious public areas. It has kitchen and big dining room but no tea bag or coffee, though in the room there is electrical pot to boil water. They gave me voucher to have breakfast in whatever bar in Cortona, but it is not so. Bar Sport says no. It leaves very limited choice when not too many bars are open in winter, two bars may take turn to close. One with bad attitude but you have no choice. When there is not too much sunshine in main streets, you feel cold when there is not enough hospitality in your breakfast. Though they do not have elevator, Max is happy to help you with the big luggage.

Fabulous location, host was informative, and helpful. Room was romantic, exquisitely furnished and comfortable. Cortona is charming, interesting and beautiful, with beautiful views.

Although we had been to Cortona twice before, we'd never stayed in town, but since we'd be celebrating New Year's there, decided we wanted to be where the action was. And action, there was, until the wee hours of the morning just about every night that we were there. Unfortunately, every outside sound seemed to be audible to us in our rooms. The rooms are charming, and clean, but there is no elevator so luggage has to be hauled from street level up a long flight to the 1st floor, then on to 2nd or 3rd floors. When we arrived, we didn't know where to go to check in, as there's no reception. Fortunately, the cleaning woman was there, and went to find the manager for us. Showers have to be quick, as the hot water only lasts a few minutes. We wanted to like this place -- it's quaint and in a great central location. Maybe if new windows were installed to eliminate some of the street noise, and if there were a reception area, this could be a very nice place

We enjoyed our stay in the room although we did arrive later in the day and understand we did not receive the best of the crop. It was clean, very quiet and blocked out the light so much that we overslept the next day. Great location near the Piazza Repubblica. My only gripe would be that it was unclear that we had to call to get in touch with the service. We arrived at the specified address which included their rooms, but no one was there to greet us. It would have been nice to have a heads up on that, esp. after a long day of travel. But we received very friendly, thorough service once we got in touch. Overall, I would recommend these rooms.
