Bed and Breakfast Residence Santa Barbara - Cefalù

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice apartments with awesome view. A bit noise during night from the road far away. Super nice pool area and the pool is great for children. Recommend a car, since it's located a bit from the town, specially if you need to shop food, the local store is no good at all. In town you find a big supermarket, much better. Our best stay during our 2 weeks drive around Sicily, to bad we only could stay for 3 nights.

Although this property had beautiful views, was clean & easy access to the old town, it was poorly maintained. It was an apartment so the natural thing we did was to go to the supermarket to buy some groceries only to find out the stove was not working, the oven was not working and we had simply a fridge to use! The water was an issue as soon as we arrived (2pm) and had no water in the entire apartment (including to flush the toilet) until 11pm. The apartment block was ok, good size clean swimming pool but I would recommend you stay closer to town & in a proper furnished apartment if you had to, otherwise so many hotels closer to the beach area.

We thought the photos and description of the hotel was wrong - everything was much BETTER than we could imagine! Big appartment, nice pool, excellent service, quiet at night, walking distance to Cefalu centre and beach, we loved it!

This was disorganised chaos. I put in a call to the property manager for the Santa Barbara location (and as it turned out, a lot of other locations throughout Cefalu) two days before our visit as specified by the confirmation of booking instructions. He told me to call him once we had reached the outskirts of Cefalu, from where he would meet us and bring us to accomodation. Sounded good to this point. However when we arrived, we could not reach his phone, there was no messaging facility and the directions to the accomodation were so poor that we had no choice but to find a parking space (in the train station) and wait until we managed to connect with our man Massimo. After 30 minutes, we sucessfully rang through. At which point he informs us that he is at dinner, will not be with us for another 30 minutes and tells us to go to the main square, sit down and have a drink ....... and by the way, your original apartment is overbooked and he has found us a far nicer place in the middle of town.... At this stage, tempers were frayed, it was 10pm at night, hot and clammy and our will to be in Sicily was rapidly dwindling. At 10.25 Massimo arrives, gets a seriously cold reception and takes me to the apartment of his choice. Now, I have to say it was really lovely - but there was no apology for the wasted time, no explanation why hte late change of venue, no explanation why i had not been informed of this on the phone call 2 days beforehand. So if you want to take your chances on accomodation in Sicily, don't book the place with the pool in the mountains with the great views because you'll end up in an apartment in the middle of the (admittedly lovely) town in Cefalu. On the plus side - the apartment we did receive was a large one bed rather than a studio. It had excellent facilities (a/c, shower room, kitchen) and the bed sofa bed i have ever seen - which was good because we had two sets of friends who had to stay with us as their accomodation debacle did not work out

The room was very cold, no normal Windows, Water in Shower just 10 Liters (warm). The Bed was a metallic piece wich was able to pull out.Afer booking there was more costs for towels an final cleaning. ( about 40 € )They give us an elektric heater after we asked. The heater had no legs and we have to install it over some cooking pots to get a thermal air moving.

Great location! Some unexpected expenses. You only get one roll of toilet paper, no soap. The apartment was not really cleaned well. Staff was nice and accommodating. Beautiful views. Enjoyed the stay.
