Except a good location this B&B has no park, no wireless, no TV , no lift (third floor), no view and for sure very very noisy you can't sleep during the night. It's certainly not a Palazzo, the only real things is the price. Good luck if you stay there !

This is really separate apartments. Tiny (or small rooms), unpleasant smell from the bathroom. Ancient building, tiny passages, breakfast in the outside cafe, no public zones - only reception. Close to the center and all sightseeings (including the main chiesa). A little noisy streets. Very small balcony, I haven't seen any terracas.

I would recommend Palazzo Villelmi to any friend. I would just make sure that I am given one room that does not oversee the main street, as noise during the night was the only shortcoming I found in Palazzo Villelmi.

First of all, Cefalù is a gem and should not be missed by anyone traveling in Sicily. The old part of the city is easy to get around in, and the beach area is gorgeous. The Palazzo Villelmi is a bed and breakfast and is small and located on the second floor of its building. Once you get the luggage up 45 stairs, you find very spacious and beautiful rooms with high ceilings and nice furnishings. There is a single room another flight up, which one of our group enjoyed immensely. The location was great, right off the cathedral square and all the activity surrounding it, and the windows to the rooms, when closed, blocked out any street noise. I especially loved a rooftop patio where we could sit and enjoy a glass of wine and sandwiches, while looking out to the spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Breakfast was okay but just that. While one day we had fresh rolls from a bakery, much of what was served was packaged but plentiful. Two drawbacks: There was no room service the second day, and when I asked about it, I was told that as a bed and breakfast, they only cleaned the rooms every other day. To me there is nothing worse than coming back to a room late in the afternoon and finding unmade beds and a bathroom that hasn't been cleaned. The other problem was being told the morning of checkout that they didn't take credit cards, which meant going down to an ATM to withdraw cash to pay the bill. This is fine for those who have ATM cards, and most people do, but it should be mentioned on the website, as it came as a surprise. Other than that, I loved the rooms and location, and Cefalù is simply magical.

Excellently located palazzo in the center of historic Cefalù. Original beautiful paintings decorating the ceiling in our, very spacious, room. Access to a terrace with striking all around panoramic view over the Duomo and the square of the Duomo as well as the sea. Competent, nice and helpful staff.

In Palazzo Villelmi everything is "palacelike", room, bathroom, 2 balconies, roof-terrace, the very good breakfast served in a quiet, elegant room with best service. Beach and sea, swimming opportunities great! (2 min. distance) Fine and delicate restaurents. Very special atmosphere in Cefalu! We will be there also next time!!!

Spacious apartment at a perfect spot. unfortunately there is very noisy street next to the building and the shower is "powered by" a small boiler.

A very poor entrance and a very steep, narrow, long steers to the rooms. Difficult to enter with normal luggage. excellent position in the historic center of Cefalu, a very charming little village, and at that time (mid October), an empty beautiful beach. The beach was not the most important, but the village itself and its surroundings. We stayed for 3 nights, but for the Palazzo we would definitely not recommend it for people 60+. The girl serving breakfast was very helpful and nice - speaking good English; we speak Italian - (and the breakfast was good).

Don’t be put of by the less than salubrious ground floor that you enter the property by as when you arrive on the second floor through the front door of the B & B your real first impression should be set. Our room was spacious, with plenty of provision for hanging clothing, a huge bed (which was quite comfortable by B & B standards), tasteful decoration and a clean and modern bathroom. Although the room was the furthest away from the Piazza Duomo, and therefore did not afford much of a view of the square, it was fun to stand on the balcony and watch life go by on the Corso below. The roof terrace, accessed via a narrow steep staircase from the dining room, provides an absolutely wonderful view down on to the Piazza and the front elevation of the Duomo, backed by La Roca, and then across the terracotta roof tops down to the sea, the beach and the mountainous coastline all the way to the Gulf of Palermo on a clear day. The breakfasts are good by Italian B & B standard and are served at a single table in a room at the centre of the building, which all the bedrooms then come off. This is good for meeting and talking with the other guest, but as there are only 6 seats at the table there isn’t room for everyone if all the rooms are occupied to full capacity. This means you have to arrange a time to take your breakfast the night before, but things are laid back and this is no hassle really. The drawbacks to Palazzo Villelmi are the stairs to the accommodation floor and then on to the roof terrace, however this is to be expected in a Sicilian Palazzo and the view from the roof is a good pay off. You may wish to take earplugs as being right above the main street in the old town it can be a little noisy, but this only adds to the experience anyway….Sicilians seem born to be noisy!

In a beautiful palazzo in the duomo square. had a large room with a balcony overlooking the square. a bit noisy with the motor skooters, but a lovely setting. roof top terrace was spectacular. hostess was lovely and the breakfast was good. lobby is under construction, but is in the heart of cefalu.
