Bed and Breakfast Lògnina - Catania

The bed and breakfast was lovely and the guests very hospitable, even giving us a ride to the ferry. The location was surprising as the surroundings were quite run down and there was not much to walk to. There was no lounge for guests although the hosts were very accommodating with the use of their personal computer etc. Breakfasts were a bit sparse, croissants and coffee, no fruit.

Very nice location, out of the city center but very convenient and relaxing. Nice mix of views of the sea (in front) and the Etna (west side). The breakfast is convivial and the coffee is just what we want to get before starting the day.

The hosts Angela and Antonio were fantastic - extremely helpful, friendly and informative. They made our stay very special. We cannot speak too highly of them.

My wife and I stayed at Lognina for 4 of our 7 nights in Sicily. The host and the hostess were really friendly and eager to help. Although they are not fluent english speakers, they tried hard to fulfill our needs. Our room and the public area can't be neater. Our laptop couldn't connect to their cable or Wi-Fi, but that didn't bother me. They were more than happy to lend us their own computer. The B&B is far from the historic center of Catania. A car will be a must for tourists. Fine restaurants can't be found nearby. But trailers few minutes away serve great hot panini, fries, and decent salad. The area is quiet and Etna will definately make your breakfast a better time.

Really amazing: stile of the whole hotel and of course of our room - what exacly was more than 1 room but a little appartment! So charming!!! We just stayed here for 2 days (1 night) my boyfriend and me... not longer unfortunately! It was really really nice. Would go there again!

This is a really lovely little B&B in the penthouse apartment of a block of flats overlooking the sea. It is a little way out of Catania and was a bit tricky to find, well the Sat Nav took us straight there, but we didn't realise we were looking for an apartment so it took us parking and getting out to have a look at the numbers on the buildings before we found the place. Our host, in spite of speaking no English (his wife is the English speaker and she was away that weekend), was lovely and friendly and with a bit of mixed Italian, French and English we managed to communicate just fine. The room was gorgeous - large, airy and newly decorated in a modern style. There was also a lovely balcony to sit out on in the evening and enjoy the view of the sea and Etna (including amazing views of the lava stream at night). I would definitely recommend this B&B (but take your Sat Nav!!).

IT: Buonissima l'accoglienza e molto bello l'appartamento. Ottima la vista dalla "suite". Si potrebbe prolungare l'orario della colazione. ENG: Particulary good welcoming and very good our room. Excellent view from "suite" room. Breakfast time could be extended.

The b&b is located along the lungomare (sea front road) a little way out of Catania centre, on the 9th floor of an apartment building. You can park directly outside, and there are 2 lifts. It might be a bit high up, but wait until you see the view from your room! The owners are incredibly welcoming, and really keen to ensure you enjoy your stay. The apartment is the epitome of italian chic, with furnishings that look like they've been lifted from the pages of glossy magazines. Our spacious room for four was equipped with some nice touches like a flat screen tv and dvd player. We had 2 balconies, with stunning views of Etna one way, and the bay the other way. Our bathroom was not en-suite, but directly next door to the room, and was for our exclusive use. Again, good quality modern design. We stayed 2 nights here, walking up a few blocks to Piazza Nettuno the first night to a neighbourhood restaurant, and catching the bus into the city centre the second night . Buses take around 20 minutes and run fairly late, we returned around 10.30 and they seemed to be going on after that. I really can't recommend this b&b enough, it's the home from home I aspire to!
