Bed and Breakfast Antico Teatro - Catania

We got there at 23.00 and it was raining. We called the owner and he came to receive us at the hotel. Apparently they had given our room to someone else but fortunately he had another spare apartment where we stayed. The apartment was nice, kitchenette, 1 room with a double bed, another separate bed in the living room, clean bathroom. They even left shampoo, soap, coffee and sugar for us in the kitchen. The owner was very nice and attentive - he took us to a nice restaurant in his car and even gave us his umbrella. The breakfast wasn't good but other than that the hotel is pretty nice.

Beautiful room with front door and windows leading to a qiet and green garden behind a high wall. The street in front of that was not heavily used (maybe due to construction work going on at that time). All the ancient parts of the city are within walking range. The only thing we disliked a bit was the toilet flush.

Centrality - good. For a short visit total sufficient. Breakfast not satisfying. We did use a double room.

THE APARTMENTS ARE FULL OF BEATLES AND THE BED IS VERY BAD. TO FORGET!!!!!!!!

Excellent reception. Good cleaning. Too little privacy in room and little light and air. But it's near at the center of Catania

Clean, welcoming people, spacious, airconditioned. only disadvantages are own bathroom just outside the room but it is indicated in the website.

We stayed in a private apartment, so we can't rate the rooms.

Nice and quiet room, well furnished with a balcony with a nice view. Very closed to the centre. I recommend it.

Very near to center of Catania (at only 5 minute walking to Dom) Very friendly and cheap. Rooms are nice, modern and very clean (every room has its own bathroom - even if it is outside of tehe room) Owner - Giuseppe, a really one-man-show is always available and in the last day has offered to take us to the airport. The two times we needed to book rooms in other locations (Taormina and Syracuse) and practically hi did everything. Breakfast is included, but is basic (as in all of Italy) and is served at a bar across the road (beware Sunday opens at 8:30) However coffee (espresso) and the croissant (a choice) included are wonderful.

Giuseppe, owner, gave me free ride to airport upon checkout. No Wifi, or he claims that the router was kaputt when I stayed there. Just walk down the road to internet caffe. Breakfast on Sunday bar only opens later, wasn't open when I went there at 8am as I had to take the bus to Siracusa. No problem, just had an extra portion of breakfast the following morning. Bathroom isn't en-suite as expected, but only 3 steps from my room's door to bathroom. Many cheap eats around the B&B, including a full menu of first & second courses warmed up in microwave for 5€ from Pizzaland.

Very noisy rooms. The bathroom is not in the room. Essential breakfast in a bar about one hundred meters (closed on Sunday)

Two important things one would want know in advance: (1) the "private bathrooms" aren't accessible from the room (2) you eat breakfast standing, at a bar, which is closed on Sunday! --- due cose importanti che uno vorrebbe sapere prima: (1) occorre uscire dalla camera per accedere al "bagno privato" (2) la colazione si fa in piedi in un bar convenzionato, che la domenica è chiuso

Very friendly and cheap. Near to center of Catania. The owner is always available. Rooms are nice and clean.
