If freshly-squeezed juice from Sicilian oranges and stunning volcano views is your thing, then book a stay at the Albergo Diffuso Borgo Santa Caterina in Castiglione di Sicilia. Located on the slopes of Mount Etna and only half an hour from the beaches at Giardini Naxos and Taormina, a stay here gives you the chance to discover the fascinating volcanic marvels and enjoy the beautiful Sicilian beaches.

The Albergo Diffuso Borgo Santa Caterina is housed in an old farm and while it has been modernized to meet the needs of the 21st century traveler, much of the old charm has been retained which is evident in the wine cellars and untouched barns and olive trees. If you are looking for cheap accommodation in Castiglione di Sicilia where you are guaranteed good quality but are also hoping for some authentic Sicilian ambiance, Albergo Diffuso Borgo Santa Caterina ticks all the boxes. Complimentary wireless Internet access is also provided.

Great Location. Sicily has so many cute towns and beaches to see that you’ll want to see them all so why not stay in Castiglione di Sicilia where you can spend less by booking at this 3 star hotel alternative near Taormina, have a more genuine experience and still be able to visit Taormina, the Mazzarò beaches, Letojanni, Isola Bella and Giardini Naxos, all easily reachable by car.

Albergo Diffuso Borgo Santa Caterina is very well maintained and run by its owners who are on hand for anything you need. There are plenty of great restaurants especially in Taormina but the staff can provide even more local knowledge or make reservations for you.

The Albergo Diffuso Borgo Santa Caterina is great for families as it really does serve as a reasonably-priced base for spending time in this part of Sicily. If you’re coming from Europe, the best thing to do is to fly into Catania Airport (CTA), hire a car and drive up towards Taormina and on to Castiglione di Sicilia. Once you have established where the B&B is, you can jump on the open road and Sicily will be your oyster as you can discover all the pristine beaches, small towns and local specialties that make Italy so unique.

Lots To Do! The most popular beaches are at Mazzarò next to Taormina where you can park all day for next to nothing and take the cable car up to Taormina where you can see the most spectacular views, particularly enchanting at sunset. You can also make day trips to Syracuse and Catania if you’d like to discover less touristic towns. Due to the vast amount of untouched land, bustling with flora and fauna, hiking and cycling are very popular too. Guests at the Santa Caterina B&B often go mountain biking in the spectacular Gorges of the Alcantara.

Room for four adults contain one double and one single beds , no response persons in hotel , terrible surround . We don't recommend this hotel to people from outside of Sicily . They can only dream about 3* B&B

Castiglione di Sicilia is a jewel, a beautiful little ancient town full of beauty and surprises. I fell in love with it. I liked the Santa Caterina Bed and Breakfast because it suited my needs perfectly. The price was excellent . The room was not large and had large furniture, but it was cosy and very clean. The ensuite bathroom was immaculate and never lacked hot water. The little balcony, though small had a wonderful view of the Castle on the hill overlooking Castiglione and I spent a lot of time gazing at it (illuminated all night), or watching the birds circle it during the day. The owner speaks English and will answer any questions. He provided a very nice and generous breakfast , which he made himself. The cleaning staff were very nice ladies and extremely conscientious about their job. I suggest that it's good to have a car when visiting Castiglione, but I got along very well with the buses and made many day trips all around the region; to Taormina, Giardini Naxos , Lingua Glossa , even circling Etna numerous times by the charming little train which can be boarded at Lingua Glossa. Santa Catarina B&B is in walking distance of everything in Castiglione , buses, restaurants, etc. I would stay there again.

The rooms we rented were in a very bad condition. They were old attics with a smell like having not opened any window for several weeks. The balcony was dirty and so there was no possibility to sit there. The bathroom was very small and dirty - no place anyone would like to take a shower! The surrounding of the B&B was full of rubbish and also the way to the center of the city. The house keeper does not understand any word in english and so the comunication was difficult when we tried to speeak with her about the condition of the rooms. Oh, I nearly forgot the doors to the rooms. The were very old, made of thin wood and one of them showed signs of a trial to break in. Unfortunatelly we made the mistake to pay the rooms before we saw them because when we complained after we overcame the shock we did not get any money back. If you want to have a good time in Castiglione di Sicilia we would recommend not to book Santa Catarina B&B - really not!!!!

Walls of the room was so thin so we heard snoring of man sleeping next to our room all night, bed was very old and making so much noise in our every little move, it wasn't possible to sleep.

The village is very remote and not really the best approach to Mt. Etna, but incredibly picturesque. If you like rustic, rather than modern, this is the place for you. The owner was very welcoming. Food in Post del Re (I think) was absolutely fabulous.

Interesting place, accommodations split up between several old building, and up and down a hill as this is a small mountain town and everything seems to be built on the side of a hill. Area very old and run down. Owner very helpful and attentive. Overall the place isn't much to speak of but yet had a strange charm like the old town was in. Not close to anything...have to drive to coast 45 to 60 minutes.

Hi, Excuse me for my english language, I usually speak french ! My boy friend Laurent and me, recommand the B & B Santa Caterina. At this place, we had a matrimoniale room, very large and confortable. The owners, Valentino and his wife Carmella are the niciest people we have met in Sicily. They have really the sens of hospitality. Santa Catarina is a really nice place to stay and eat... Carmella is the best cook of all the Sicily ! For about 20 euros by person, we had a five services Sicilian meal at night time ! Laurent and me loved this place and specially the people who make this place a nice place to stay and eat(Valentino and Carmella). Thank you to have giving us the chance to meet such nice people!
