Bed and Breakfast Tre Metri Sopra il Cielo - Caltagirone

Gaetano (the owner) was welcoming and went out of his way to be helpful with information for myself and my husband during our stay. Also driving us to the bus for our trip back to Catania. The B & B is charming-beautiful views of the lovely town of Caltigirone. The only problem for anyone with a disability or dislike for exercise is the location at the top of the stairs-96 if i remember correctly... which can be difficult. Otherwise, in every way a fabulous place to stay in Caltigirone...

Very nice place to stay. Sentral located. Nice landlord. We had a fantastic view from our room and an amazing place for breakfast.The only minus, that there is no possibility to park the car close to the house. The reason is becouse the streets are to narrow for car driving, but this is so typical for the old and charming cities of Sicily.

On est accueillis comme des amis chez Gaetano, sur sa terrasse à trois mètres au dessus du ciel, tout en haut du grand escalier de Caltagirone. Hébergement confortable dans un petit appartement annexe. L'accès en voiture par le haut du grand escalier n'est pas facile mais possible, sinon Gaetano offre le transport des bagages depuis n'importe quel point de la ville où on a pu se garer. Excellent petit déjeuner avec vue panoramique sur la ville.

Bautiful place, excellent view, excellent hospitality, breakfast from dreams.

The owner gave us a warm welcome and a very good dinner advice (Coria, which serves superb food) and other advices about things to see and do. He also made us an elaborate Sicilian breakfast (very sweet)which was made with much care and attention. He obviously enjoyed his role as host to his guests. The only minus was the shower which was not very strong.

We had a good time in caltagirone but... the arrival was.. strange.. and dissappointing! when we arrived..no-one would open the door, we called on the phone and the person who took our call seamed to be totaly surprised,did not know anything of our reservation and would not understand any english..mmhhh.. there we stood, in front of a locked house with no bed for the night...not good! fortunately..some minutes later.. a very nice young lady called back, telling us she was very sorry, then came to pick us up.. brought us to another bed and breakfast..not situated on the steps...and without any breakfast on the promised panoramic terazza..for 60 Euros.. but..we had a good time! after the first moment of deception.. the other place was very nice, too, on the top floor of an old palazzo with typical 90ies furniture, clean and fresh, and.. most of all a perfect panoramic view onto the main piazza of caltagirone.. which was NOT the famous steps.. but even better to whatch the crowd on the piazza, celebrating the "scala illuminata"- party until 5 in the morning! very noisy but very nice to be a part of!
