Bed and Breakfast Truthostel (formerly Residencial Avenida) - Braga

Bathroom in economy room is situated at balcony.

The space between bed and wall was only for making steps aside; it was not possible to walk as usual. the breakfast is excellent. the bathroom is okay; it was forgotten to give soap. towels changed daily. but the rooms are loud from neighbour, from the ac.-machines - the roomsand windows are just aside of the airconmachines. the corridor is very small and the doors are to close only loud. the elevator is always occupied. the surrounding outside is not amazing; the houses need urgently restoration. the connection with public transport is excellent and the possible walks also. i did not use restaurant. i was always out. so maybe not spending money for food was the reason not to feel a very warm welcome, especially a not farewell. the american aside of me was asked how it was his stay. for me was nothing!!! the rate is .... also that american had had same floor and same tariff.. it is not said that he booked while same hour as me.!! so the socalled very offer was it or was it not....nevertheless if the rate is okay again, maybe i book again. but i am several times a year in lisbon, but always different hotels or residencials.. the reason is mostly the price comparing to the given service.. for example the duas nacoes had same rates in the same week....

Excellent location in Braga. The best value for money!

It was easy to find. I didn't have a map of the town so I made my way to the tourist info and when I turned around, I noticed the hotel was a few places down. The hotel is in the center of town (10-15 min walk from the train station), and is in a quiet place. The staff spoke English-so that was great! I had a nice stay here and would recommend this place to others.

Basic rooms, but excellent location.

Instead of a little misunderstanding about our triple room when we arrived, the experience was very nice.

The hotel location is excellent, right in the centre of the old town. Our room was spacious and had good heating/aircon. The bathroom was huge but very cold! Everything in the hotel is fine, if you don't mind things a bit old and tired. The towels weren't very nice, and there was only soap in the bathrooms (no shampoo!). Breakfast was fine, but no hot food. Beds very comfortable and shower good. In general this is good value for money, and I'd recommend it to anyone spending a night in Braga.
