The Accorsi B&B is wonderful! As mentioned here before, it is a short bus ride from the train station and the main piazza. Take bus 81 or 91 from train station, get off on Pontelungo stop then you have to backtrack a street or two to Via Speranza, go right then look for Via Licinia on your left. It's a quick easy walk. Signora Accorsi is very accomodating and sweet. Safe neighborhood, tobacconist down the street sells bus tickets. Highly recommend the pizzeria that is nearby and you MUST go to Antica Trattoria Ponte Lungo, it was probably the best meal we had during our two weeks in Italy. Its just a couple of blocks from the Pontelungo stop, same side of the street. We also visited the porticos of San Luca (longest portico in the world!), it's beautiful and there is a bus if you don't feel like walking.

We appreciated the kindeness of our hostess, even if she doesn't speak any language but italian...Very clean room with all facilities. The breakfast is very generous as well. The only inconvinience was the lack of air conditionning. We were in Bologne in July and it is very hot so it was difficult to sleep. The neighbourhood is very quiet,a little far from downtown but nonetheless convinient.

Nice and quiet B&B in residential area of Bologna. Easy access to city center with bus 13. In the middle of summer, with temperatures over 35 degrees Celsius, rooms might be to hot for nordic people. Host is very friendly and helpful despite language barrier. Excellent breakfast.

We were generally very pleased with the accommodation, chiefly because we were the only guests and had the whole floor and bathroom to ourselves (the place was empty). The hosts were very nice, however they did not speak a word of English. Just a few words in a new Lingua Franca would be a big help to tourists. Otherwise all was perfect. Nice quiet area and very close to the airport. Last but not least, good filling breakfast which is important for someone who is travelling.

If you love riding the bus like I did in order to see more of what real life is like in Bologna, then this was a very good deal. It's about a 10 minute ride to the center of Bologna on bus 13, but if you stop and buy some bus tickets at the tobacconist just down the street on the way to the bus stop, it's really easy (don't forget to validate ALL tickets on ALL bus and train trips in Italy by inserting them in the validation machines either in stations or on buses!). The room was large, clean, and quiet. The food at breakfast was plentiful. True enough, Signora Accorsi doesn't speak a word of anything but Italian. I knew some Italian and was able to communicate basic needs easily, and when all else fails she's ready with pen and paper to write down important numbers and times. She's very nice, and simply wants to get you set up and allow you to experience things on your own. One evening I had a problem with the window shades and she came right up to fix it once I told her, though. I was highly satisfied. It's a B&B, not a hotel, but it worked out very well for me.

Very quiet location only 10-15 minutes bus ride to the city centre (no.13 goes straight to historic centre). Carla only speaks Italiano but this made the experience more authentic! She was very helpful considering the language barriers. Cash only. The previous tip from other travellers was very helpful to find the location - to print out a Google map beforehand. BLQ bus from airport ask for Puntolungo. Bus 81/91 goes to main train station.

Very favourable location - on a half way between the city centre and the airport, in an quiet suburban area. Good accessibility to both the centre and the airport. The owners were very welcoming, helpful and relaxed. Only Italian spoken, but no problem in "understanding" each other. Room and facilities clean and comfortable though in a rather old fashioned 1970s look.

This was our first visit to Bologna. We spent two nights at Senora Accorsi's B&B. Room was spacious and clean, bathrooms were very clean with lovely shower. Breakfast was different! But very continental. We arrived late so think may have kept her up, but at breakfast she was most attentive and very chatty - even though neither of us speak Italian and she no English! Would definitely go back there again, although it was quite a long way out of the main area of Bologna, the number 13 bus runs frequently and close to the B&B.

Accorsi B&B is 4km from the historic center of Bologna, but so easy to access by bus and such a good value that it was worth the minor inconvenience. First a few tips: To/from train station, Bus 81 or 91. To/from historic center, Bus 13. To/from airport, Bus BLQ. Use the Pontelungo stop for all. You can buy your ticket on board Bus 13 and BLQ, but not the others. A Google map will get you the few blocks from the bus stop to Accorsi B&B. That's it. Simple. Buses 81 and 91 run until 10pm. Bus 13 runs until 1am. To get back from town, look for a stop along Via Farini. My room was large, and the shared bathroom excellent. With only 3 guest rooms, Signora Accorsi arranges breakfast individually with each guest and has everything set up at the arranged time. I changed my time each of the 4 days I stayed there, including a 6:30am start, and she was very accommodating. Breakfast included toast with jam, yogurt, juices and espresso. We chatted about our families and the newspaper headlines of the day, sometimes beyond my competence with the Italian language, for which she showed great patience. I usually make a point to stay in the center of town, but this was my one exception, and I was pleased at how well it worked out.

Excellente adresse.

The hotel is not at all difficult to find from the train station if one can ask a few questions of locals, i.e., which bus to take, where to get off, etc. We had no trouble at all and people were most willing to help with directions. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre for anyone who is moderately fit and who likes to walk. In any event, the buses are good and run frequently, only three or four blocks from the hotel. The biggest surprise was the fact that the hotel does not accept payment in anything other than cash. I had been counting on paying with a credit card and after paying the bill with my remaining supply of cash, I was left with a perilously small amount of euros with which to continue my journey. I would have preferred to know that well ahead of time and I think that should be made clear on the website. Otherwise, the place was fine, clean, quiet, and the Signora was friendly and helpful, especially if one speaks some Italian.

The surroundings of the house were quiet and silent. Near the house, there is a bus stop that drives you directly to the city center, just in 10-15 min. The B&B is clean, quiet and with spacious rooms. On the first floor there are two complete bathrooms for 3 rooms and they are really clean. If you come here by car, it is very easy to park just in front of the house or near the area. Lady of the house is really nice and, though she does not speak English, she manages to understand people and give them what they want. Breakfasts are splendorous!

It's located a little far from the historical center, in a residential area. You'll have to walk to the main street to find shops (local, non-tourist) It's well connected by bus to the historical center (Bus 13) and the train station (Bus 91).

I might have gotten directions before we left, but I didn't have them with me when we got to Bologna. Getting there was a nightmare, starting with the fact that the bus number we were given and the stop to wait at, didn't help us. But, this isn't the B&B's fault. The street it is on is small (unknown) and aways out of town. So, the bus driver didn't even recognise it, nor the bus stop name we were given at the Bus Office at the Train station. The driver was very helpful and solicited help from riders, one of whom had an idea. The place was then about a 8-10 min walk from the nearest bus stop. The lady who met us when we rang the bell, who lives below, was very nice (btw, she speaks no English). When I told her that we would be leaving early at 6 am, she still offered to make us a hot breakfast. The nearest restaurant is Chinese (4-5 mins) but Italian is a 10 min walk (which wasn't open, even though it should have been). There were a few bars/pizzarias 5-15 mins walk.

We really enjoyed our stay. Signora Accorsi was courteous and helpful and made us feel at home. She also recommended the nearby Antica Trattoria del Pontelungo, unpromising on the outside but serving fabulous regional food - one of the best and best value meals we had in the whole of two weeks' stay in Italy.

On site I've booked private bathroom, but in reality -- only shared. I ordered a garage (problems with parking in that area is wellknown), but it all garage was occupied. Nice old lady is holding that b&b, really trying to give her best to the clients, but: (1) her abilities are poor, (2) info on site is not correct. Avbergo doesnt meet expectation and got no real worth for money.

Important: The BLQ airport bus picks up at the bus stop which is about 3 blocks away, so it is extremely convenient to get to the airport (BLQ bus drops off at a bus stop about 6 blocks away). Also good bus service to stazione and centrale.

Our hostess Victoria was most welcoming and gave us the complete tour of the room, bathroom and the breakfast area. A full run-down in the use of the first rate espresso machine and valuable info on where to catch the bus. The neighborhood is quiet and the city bus is less than a 5 minute walk, number 13 will take you to Piazza Maggiore in 10 minutes and there is an excellent Trattoria a block from the bus stop. Note that the hostess speaks only Italian, but even with my limited language skill I was able to communicate well enough. We'd definately stay here again when in Bologna.

My wife and I liked the accommodation. It is cheap and far from the downtown, which is invariably noisy in every Italian city. A major problem, as others also have pointed out, is that the owner does not speak exclusively Italian. But if you perceive that as a service (language teaching by means of modern direct methods), it will increase the value of the accommodation for you. A real problem, and a big one, is the map on the website. It is simply wrong. I used a map service and was cautious enough to ask the exact location at the train station. You should take bus 81 or 91 and get off at 'Pontelungo'. You must ask others on the bus, as the bus driver does not indicate the name of stops. The website claims the accommodation is 10 minutes from the train station. Actually, it is almost a 10-minute walk from the bus stop (and 20 minutes on the bus, which circulate infrequently on Sundays and holidays). Still, the accommodation is worth the money.

It would really help if the hosts could speak even a little bit of English. We had some misunderstandings and weren't able to communicate with each other at all, which was incredibly frustrating.
