Stayed for 7 days in September. The B&B was excellent in every way and Fillippo the owner went out of his way to be helpful. Weather was excellent and Bergamo is a beautiful place. Good bus service close to property. Would definitely give it the highest recommendation.

Il Ciliegio is in a very quiet spot within easy reach of the old City either by bus or on foot. Recommend taking the bus in very hot weather. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Filipo the owner was very friendly and helpful. Will definately be staying here on next visit.

We were offered a huge room on the top floor. The owner Filippo is extremely efficient and very helpful. Breakfast is continental but portion is ample. The hotel sets amongst quiet residential area and we found the accommodation is good value for money. We enjoyed our stay in Bergamo and would definitely recommend this B&B in particular to those who have their own transport.

This place is amazing value. It is roughly the same distance to the citta alta (the old town) as most hotels in the downtown district, but just on the other side of town. The difference is this place is much cheaper. You can walk to the old town in around 20 minutes from the hotel, by car you're there in 5 minutes. Filippo the owner is very helpful and speaks very good English. Breakfast is great and the place has secure private parking. I will definately chose this B&B again.

Wow! If you’re planning to stay in Bergamo you should definitely choose this B&B. It is the best B&B I have ever stayed at and actually the service level you get is high above any other standard B&Bs (beats most of any *** and **** hotels). First of all I was amazed by the owner, Filippo already before our stay. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend, so I tried to ask Filippo if he could buy some roses, etc…on my behalf. He was extremely helpful with this, too. The transfer from the airport was very cheap and punctual. The B&B itself is so clean you could eat from the floor, the breakfast was prepared on the desired time and was very good. Other than this I could only mention all the positive opinions from other users here on Venere.com. Highly recommended, and will definitely stay here when in the area again.

Filippo was an excellent host. Very charming and helpful. The breakfast was good. There was a good bus service nearby to the lower town but Bergamo upper town was farther away than expected. Filippo drove us there and suggested some restaurants which was very helpful. My only problem was the number of stairs to the ensuite rooms. I have arthritis so it was a bit of a climb. Otherwise would completely recommend.

Nice location in a quiet suburb but just a short walk to bus services or a 20 minutes walk to citta alta. I cannot fault the B&B for the quality/price ratio. Spotlessly clean, an excellent welcome and generous breakfast.

Mr Carrara met us at the airport exactly as arranged and was very helpful with info re Bergamo. The house is in a quiet area and a short pleasant walk from the old town. We had a peaceful night's sleep and an excellent breakfast - a good start to our holiday and I would thoroughly recommend Il Ciliegio to people who like friendly B & B's. It would be a good base for exploring the Bergamo area at a very reasonable price.

My son (who is 15) and myself can only highly recommend this B&B. The standard of cleaniness is excellent (and I'm fussy), the room was tastefully furnished, the breakfast was varied with fresh bread and fruit. Our host helped in making sure that during our very short stay we visited the major historical sites within historical Bergamo, ready with street map and guidebook. The area is very safe and the B&B is very conveniently located near bus stops both to the historical city of Bergamo and the modern city of Bergamo. The B&B offers airport transfer at a very competitive price. We strongly hope to return and intend to stay a bit longer.

We have been very satisfied with everything at il cillegio. It´s really near the old town, with very good sight and possibilities to go by bus. The informations about the possibilities surround our place, were very helpful. We really felt like guests in that house. 100% recommandable :-)

My husband and I were most impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the room. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, well presented. The owner was very conscientious and available. He also gave us a guide book of Bergamo and took the time to explain important aspects of the city.

The owner of Il Ciliegio was extremely service-oriented and with good language skills. He came and picked us up at the airport although we landed late that evening, he showed us around the primary sights in Bergamo, he gave us tips of what to do on our trip. By far the best service I have experienced on our stays in Italy ever! Very good! I recommend Il Ciliegio.

Thanks Filippo, we will come back again!

Important to note: does not accept credit/debit cards. Set back from main road and access is down path through security gate -make sure you have contact phone number if arriving late to gain access. Access to property is up flight of stairs and all bedrooms are upstairs with no lift. In all other respects a very clean and pleasant B&B for overnight stay in Bergamo.

We flew into Bergamo Airport late onto the evening and didn’t want to trek to Milan so we decided to stay at Il Ciliegio. Our Host, Filippo was a real Gentleman and we enjoyed the stay so much we actually came back from Milan a day early so we could stay again and explore Bergamo. The Food at breakfast was varied, fresh and very well presented. The Hotel rooms are clinically clean (something that my wife was very happy about) and well appointed with lovely bathrooms. I would highly recommend the Pick up and drop off service that allowed us to leave our bags at the hotel and then not have to worry about getting a bus or taxi to the Airport. Filippo has a wonderful local knowledge and is very passionate about the region, he loaned us a tour guide and pointed us in the direction of the old City and the best restaurants in the area. He has a supply of tickets for the very good bus service and again provided us with all the information we would need to make our stay very enjoyable. I will definitely be returning to Il Ciliegio next year and use this friendly Hotel as a base to explore this wonderful region. Milan is nice but it would be a mistake not to stay in lovely Bergamo and explore its stunning sights. Thanks Filippo for a wonderful stay Eric and Caron Carter

The B&B has been a beautiful experience. Very clean and a rich and nice breakfast too. Mr. Filippo was very helpful in arranging my staying here, even if for just a night. He also suggested some nice places in the B&B nearby. It's a quiet and nice place to stay, near natural and historical areas, and the b&b is nice and well cared. Would suggest this place.

We decided on a short stay in Bergamo as it was close to the airport we were to fly back from. For this Il Ciliegio was excellent. The owner, Mr Cararra, was extremely helpful. He advised in detail on places to visit and food to eat. He booked a table at a local restaurant for us following our late afternoon arrival and arranged transport to the airport when we left. The only reason we did not give the hotel surroundings full marks is that some may find Il Ciliegio less convenient as it is a bus or taxi ride from the railway station, we did not find this to be much of a problem. This was our first visit to Bergamo and we will come here again, possibly as a starting point for another touring holiday. Make sure you visit Citta Alta, the old city, and get a tourist travel pass (again arranged by Mr Cararra) costing only €2.50 and allowing travel all day on buses and the funicular.

Perfect B&B for all those who prefer a quiet and comfortable place to stay over some crowded place in the center. We had some difficulties to find the place, you definitely need a map of Bergamo, not only some web-routeplanner-descriptions. Once there you meet the owner who cares for all kinds of questions and needs (take-away-pizza at 11 p.m.? Fillippo will manage somehow!). A good place to stay with children (our 4-year-old son loved the spacious triple-room and the playground downstairs. The distance to the citta alta is manageable by feet (approx. 25 min., mainly because of the altitude), but not really nice, italian roads lack of real space for pedestrians and the drivers drive,- well, "italianlike". Better take the bus or go by car.

The B&B is in a very quite neighbourdhood, 30 minutes walking from the 'cittá alta'. It's really clean and silent, with spacious and beautiful rooms. The breakfast was great and the owner is a very kind and considerate man, willing of helping his guests.
